Because in Doom 1 and 2, doomguy was an average dude who got caught in that mess but didnt give a fuck and went on to rip and tear through hell and back on repeat occasions. Although by the end of Doom 64, he decides to stay in hell for all eternity to punish the wicked, so I guess Doom 4 could be a continuation of that. Thing is, based on the DEEP LORE, it seems that the Doom Slayer always lived in some contested part of hell, and started his crusade after he was swindled into trusting the demons, which ended up in the eradication of his home and people. No doomguy wasn't, it would make sense after being their leader the ex-leader get jealous and plant seed of betrayal.

Doomguy is described as unyielding incorruptible. I doubt he be fine with a bargain with the devil

Sounds more like the description of being unyielding and incorruptible applies to the Doom Slayer after the deal was done, because he was wrought with not just pure rage, but also guilt for being responsible for the destruction of his home and the death of everyone he knew and was supposed to protect.
The thing is that his son was lost in battle and the demons offered to return him in exchange for their priests being given access to the wraiths, who they then corrupted to weaken Argent D' Nur's defenses.
The demons then apparently brought back the Doom Slayer's son but having been turned into the Icon of Sin, and sent him to wreak havoc, as a final 'fuck you.'
I suppose after having been swindled that hard, it'd be impossible for him to trust the wicked freaks with anything else.
It certainly would've taken some serious convincing from 'the wretch who shall not be named' for the Doom Slayer to accept armor from him.

If you read the in game story stuff it's pretty clear that Doom guy was the leader of the Night Sentinels, who were a religious warrior cult in a place called Argent D'nur. His son was killed in battle so he cut a deal with the demons to lead a priest to the wraiths that the sentinels were protecting/guarding the populace from. The priest corrupted the wraiths so demons could use their power. Doom guys' son was returned, as the Icon of Sin. The Icon laid waste to the realm and allowed the demons to take over. Doom guy was pissed as hell at this deal and went ape shit, fucking the demons up for several thousand years until they manage to capture him. Other stuff in there, such as him receiving the armor from something, possibly a demon, and being blessed by seraphim.

Doomguy wasn't the traitor from what I remember. He did go wreck shop after his people were betrayed though

Nah, that was said during the slayer testaments, which chronicled Doom Slayer's eternal rampage starting from after Argent City fell, to when he was entombed in that sarcophagus he wakes up from in the beginning of the game.
But whatever, that's just a small detail that doesn't add much to the grand scheme of this backstory.

Seems pretty damn clear that Doom guy is the leader of the Night Sentinels. Now to be fair it wasn't explicitly said that he was the one to betray his people, but what the hell could he have done that was so bad that he is described as "...tainted beyond ascension..."? Could argue that the "...dark lords who had wronged him." is a general statement, but it sounds more personal IMO.
