Can Rhodesian Fire Force tactics be applicable to modern day conflicts?
It seems like first world countries might get pissy about some of the risks
>drop off a bunch of paras to cut off an enemy
>they land in the middle of a bunch of hadji
>ded
But yeah, MRAPs and helicopter CAS are wonderful things in COIN, which is why the US likes using them.

Firestorm operations had an 80:1 kill/death ratio would it not be more effective than current COIN tactics?
Give me your thoughts on using a P08 for concealed carry.
I'd also like to know your preferences and recomendations.
As far as i'm aware it's a reliable enough pistol for cc. I mainly picked it because it's beautiful and it's 9mm, i haven't really heard any objections in regards to carrying it.
>>31501504
how rich are you?
can you afford 3-4 parts guns or a bin of spare parts?
also they tend to be super picky on ammo so good luck with finding a good expanding round that cycles

Great idea, anon.

>I know you do it

Do it, but keep a Wehrmacht cap in your glove box.
I can confirm that Wasps can infact hurt you really bad.
Long story short I was practicing pain tolerance with myself so that I would become more subtitle to extreme pain and not die or pasd out from it and well I decided to find a wasp's nest and crushed it in my hand to get them to sting me.
It ended with me having to go get a few meds for the sting marks but atleasy I didn't die.
So after that can anyone tell me how I can order me several bullet ants?
I want to try out how it would feel to be stinged by them ecause I hear that it feels like being shot so I want to feel it so that I can build up my tolerance towards pain enough to where I don't drop down and roll around like a big fucking baby when I get shot.
No I want to be able to ignore the pain from being shot so that I can be better prepared to tolerate pain.
Also how is everyone doing today?

/k/ is a blue board, please keep your sexual fetishes off.
>>31501426
I have been bitten by a bullet ant. You will cry and probably shit yourself. Nothing you do can prepare you for pain like that.
this most be bait, but 1. just put onions on the stings works as well as expensive meds and 2. do you also shoot yourself with .22 to build up lead immunity?
Actually unpopular opinions thread

Semi-auto only being assault rifles is not an opinion, it's just factually incorrect.
You limp dick libtard.

Galil ace impressions thread
Does anyone own this rifle? Is the reported 1.5 MOA true? Is it worth buying for $1700 to $1900 dollars?
I shot one yesterday and was disappointed. The sights are blocky aperature and post sights that are barely usable. The front sight post is huge and the sight picture takes up your entire field of vision. Target acquisition while aiming would be impossible. You'd have to unshoulder the rifle to pick your next target, then aim again.
The rifle was very blocky and the mag well was at an unnatural angle. The safeties are ambidextrous but incredibly stiff on the sight side. Not sure how well the dust cover mounted rail will hold zero.
It is also heavy at 8.5 pounds without a mag or optics attached. You're looking at a 10 to 11 pound rifle when loaded and with accessories.
The foregrip wobbles when shooting.
Now for good things.
It takes ak mags, but waffle mags dont work.
Extremely well done machining with a hammer forged, chrome lined barrel.
Rails on entire length of top of the rifle, plus under the foregrip.
In conclusion, the ergonomics suck but the rifle itself is well made.
>>31501208
I have huge doubts that people own one. And do by foregrip, do you mean handguards? Because if that's the case, then those could be the hand guard sleeves. I heard there will be aftermarket hand guards coming soon. My biggest question is if it has parts compatibility with the OG Galil, such as sights, handguards, bolt (Specifically 5.56x45 and .308)
>>31501235
So, much like the original rifle, only slightly lighter with a better ability to add accessories to it.
I'd imagine that it'd be better once one can replace the standard handstock with aftermarket parts or remove the fugly sleeves.
So back in the day when i was around 16 my dad bought me a Mosin to be my first rifle. He bought it with intent to give it to me so did he technically commit a straw purchase? I've streight up heard people in gun shops talking about buying guns for their kids and shop owners where completely okay with it. I know giving a firearm as a gift is legal and there is no minimum age for a child to be given a gun by a parent in my state but there was still intent when he filled out the 4473. The whole thing confuses me, what is the difference between a gift and a straw purchase?
>Inb4 ATF
>Inb4 shoot my doggo
>>31501200
Bump for interest, i never understood this myself.
My understanding is you a straw purchase is when you buy a gat for somebody that could not own that gat.
So my dad can buy me a raifu at any age, but he couldnt buy me a handgun until i turned 18, and not even then for me bc he lives in a different state if i understand correctly.
No, what your dad did was legal. If you happened to give him $150 and he bought you a $150 rifle that would be a straw purchase.
from what I understand it is
>be unable to get guns for whatever reason
>tell someone who can to buy one for you
>reimburse them for said gun
>The ruger mini 14 is more reliable and durable than any ar in existance.
>it is an all around superior weapon
Prove me wrong
Protip: you cant
Sad.
Like watching a homeless guy sing "Jesus Loves Me" with a big ol' grin on his face.
Just smile knowingly, folks, and move on. Nothing to see here.
OP is a fag.
I've always thought the rifle looks like it has a fucking engine in the front. That heat shield is ugly otherwise it would be a cool garand style rifle.

Sage this shit
http://www.defensenews.com/articles/british-naval-commander-wants-us-marine-aviation-on-aircraft-carrier
>The commander of HMS Queen Elizabeth, Britain’s new aircraft carrier, would like to see US Marine Corps F-35Bs and V-22s embark for up to nine months at a time once the warship becomes operational.
>“We’ll certainly see some footprint aboard the ship. The big question is do they deploy with us much longer term in the future, maybe for six, seven, eight, nine months from when we deploy. That’s what I would love to see,” Capt. Jerry Kyd said.
>Confirmation that the Royal Navy’s 70,000-ton aircraft carrier force would embark US Marine Corps (USMC) F-35Bs came during a meeting between UK Defence Secretary Michael Fallon and his US counterpart, Ash Carter, in London at the start of September.
>Fallon said that eventually British aircraft could be deployed on US aircraft carriers.
>>31501080
So paying for most of the NATO and UN forces wasn't enough?
>>31501107
its mostly to give the carrier crew training while waiting for the arrival of the RN/RAF F35B.
the original plan was that the planes would arrive before the carriers were completed, but lockheed are lockheed.
>>31501080
Neato. It's not like this hasn't ever happened before.
British RN Harrier squadrons have been stationed on US Carriers before, and vice versa on ships like Illustrious.
This is pretty neat
Will .22 penetrate the skull, causing instant death?
>>31501055
Yes
>piercing the skull guarantees an instant dead

nah will bounce straight off you can try it on yourself
Can you fire one of these from the hip?
>>31501053
Yes
>>31501053
It'll probably be downright comfortable. Like firing any gun from the hip, it'll just push backwards a bit and feel fine.
if you got enough hip

How comfy are modern subs inside?

Very. Plush everywhere.
not very. Unless you like playing vidya in your off hours from a TV velcroed to the top of your bunk in your tiny ass room you share with another person.
>>31500821
I don't think any sub has ever reached the comfiness level of Typhoons.
Sup lads? So I'm going to make my first knife and I would like your opinion about what would be the easier steel to heat treat? I know that O1 is fairly easy to work with it, so that's my choice for now, what do you guys think? Thanks
>>31500612
Why would you ask this kind of a question here?
The majority of knife posters on this board neither use nor sharpen their knives, much less knowing the slightest thing about metallurgy or knife making.
Go ask on HypeFreeBlades and the makers sections of BladeForums if you want any useful advice.
