>when you get a really nice old gun but you can't bring yourself to shoot it because it's a piece of history
Does anyone else know this feel?
>>31513100
No, I'm no longer allowed to own guns, that's all I feel.
No. I buy things to shoot them, not set up a museum.
No you idiot, a few dozen rounds every other week isn't going to wear out the bore.
Which company should win the contract for the Modular Handgun System and why is Glock the objectively correct answer?

Beretta, now fuck off.

But their proposed M9A3 was already shut down.
>ITT: companies that don't know how to market any of their shit
>>31513051
Protip, they don't need to
>>31513051
Why would Beretta need to market their stuff?
Would comfort battalions be a good way to improve the army's morale, something feminists finally might be useful for?
Probably, but if the grunts treat women the way they treat MRAPs, you're going to have a lot of women walking bowlegged after the war's over.
>>31512922
I fucking lol'd.
>>31512909
I'd proudly pay that tax. Full service women for our servicemen.
hey /k/ I think we have a new meme https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VEteC_M1154

I'm sick of seeing this kid.

Likewise. Fuck off regular guy.

LOL ^.^ LETS FORCE IT SMORE GUISE NEW MEME
Underage ban please.
Explain to me why fixed-wing attack aircraft fell out of favor compared to rotary wing attack aircraft.
>>31512841
They didn't they just upgraded to precision munitions and higher altitude.
Rotary has ability to take off of damn near anywhere while providing good overhead time and vastly better terrain hiding capability.
Trade off is response times, range, speed, overhead time.
>>31512841
Because Key West Agreement. If the army could use planes it would.
>>31512936
>They didn't they just upgraded to precision munitions and higher altitude.
I'm talking more in the realm of cheaper attack aircraft. Why exactly doesn't the Army have any planes like anymore? What makes helicopters so much better?
>tfw don't even feel like going to the range anymore
What's the matter anon?
>>31512617
Have you considered practical shooting, or is it just depression sapping the life out of you?
>>31512617
I wish I could go to the range.
No time.
No money.
But seriously, it's time for you to seriously change up your range experience. Try a new range. Get some new targetry. Maybe try working on some drills. Drawing, speed, whatever. That might reinvigorate your desire to go to the range.
Far as modern pistols go. Is there a bigger piece of shit than the M&P.
>>31512566
The CZ
>>31512566
>Is there a bigger piece of shit than the M&P.
But that isn't canik
>>31512586
Don't the CZs at least perform as well as HiPoints though?
Is this kid for real?

And before we go any further, I just want everyone to know I am the co-chair of my local Pink Pistols group. Yes, I'm gay. Get over it.
Who is this? And why should I..........what the fuck is up with that plate carrier?
>my vital organs are all in my clavicle.
So what is going to be the future of naval warfare when these bad boys get fully integrated?
Right now we're pretty much just spamming missiles at each other and hoping enough get through. Will anti missile lasers completely negate that strategy?
Does anyone have an idea about what the next evolution will be?

The US will be using lasers, railguns, stealth fighters, and tilt-rotors in place of most helicopters. Everyone else will still be relying on missile spam.
>>31512496
Is there a potential active defense against rail gun projectiles? Or do they move way too fast to intercept?
I'm in the market for a new knife. I lost my Kershaw Blur out in the woods last week and have had no luck finding it at any of my usual stops. Loved the knife, but I'm looking to try out something new. I see a lot of people like Spyderco and Benchmade. Any other suggestions? I generally use it as a box opener at work and an all around field knife out in the woods and when I'm fishing.
>>31512424
Budget?
>>31512431
I'm not too picky, if something is really nice and $30, great, but I'm looking to keep it under $150
Been carrying mine for 5 years or so. I'd buy another if I ever lost it.
Hey /k/, I have been wanting to pick up a SMG style weapon (semi-auto though) but have little to no knowledge of these things. Any suggestions or good places to start?
SMG thread I guess?
>>31512310
Start with a .22 pistol, then shoot yourself in the head.
>>31512310
if you already have a pistol it's nice to get a pistol caliber carbine (what people typically call 'smg style' rifles) in the same caliber so you can use the same ammo in both, better yet if it uses the same mags, like some guns do. (glock mags work in the keltec sub 2000 and JR carbine, S&W 59 mags work in the marlin camp carbine)
if you dont own a pistol in any interchangeable caliber, just get a 9mm carbine because it's the most versatile, cheapest ammo. I personally don't have much experience handling specific guns you might be looking for, but that's just some general advice
>tfw living in a cucked city with cucked friends in a cucked apartment and knowing the collapse of western civilization is inevitible but too poor to move out into the country and start preparing.
>tfw don't even have a car
what do I do? my currents plan is to get a handgun (really want a surplus hi power) that I could hide from my landlord, throw it in a bike bag and take myself shooting as much as possible without totally breaking the bank, then saving up for the aforementioned stuff and moving the fuck out of the city.
bamp
actually it turns out there's a range near my house that lets me shoot anything up to .308, so that leaves the question: what poorfag gun should I get? surplus Hi-Power or Savage Axis in .223 or .308?
definetly a handgun if that's your situation. but why must it be a surplus hi power? What city?
Hey, Fedex was here! I wonder what is in the box?
Another box ?
Still has the wax seal on it....
>>31512071
A box of tokerev ammo?
Or better yet Tokerevs?
Or Nagant revolvers?
Or surplus 8mm Mauser?
is marksmanship a dying art? will it go the way of fencing and archery soon? The military barely even teaches people how to shoot anymore since the only real point of infantry is to occupy cities and shoot 12 year olds who are playing with wires in the middle of the road. Smart rile technology is in it's infancy but i imagine a World War would change that quite quickly
>>31512015
I don't see it dying off, but if technology renders it obselete, then so be it. Get good at the next thing.
>>31512015
12 yr olds. Hah
What the best thing about shooting twenty two yr olds?
>>31512097
There's twenty of them?
