Hey guys. I'm new into this caliber. Looking to stock up. I don't know what to get. What's the difference between these two? Which is "better" or are they basically the same?

http://ammunitionstore.com/products/223-5-56x45-ammo-62gr-fmj-wolf-wpa-polyformance-500-round-case.html

Grain and primer type are different but FPS is the same... what's with with that?

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
>>
Also what's the difference between m2 and m3 pmag?
>>
>>31507913
>wolf

pls no
>>
>>31507965
For Magpul's AK mags the m3 have metal reinforcements, the gen 2s do not.
>>
>>31508331

Does it really justify the price though?

>>31508284

Wut? You don't like to clean your guns?
>>
>>31508343
No, you'd be better off picking up surplus metal mags. In my experience with them the feed lips get chewed up after a few hundred rounds.

Still though if it's the only thing available they'll be fine.
>>
>>31508396

I'll be getting more M2s then. They're on sale right now.

Now, what about the ammo? No one has answered that yet.
>>
>>31508396
Did they stop working?

>So…can a PMAG crack? Through internal and external testing of the GEN M3 PMAG, this requires impacts or repeated impacts beyond current TOP 03-02-045 testing for firearms systems that we are aware of. It may indeed crack in some extreme cases–however, the forces and impacts required to crack a GEN M3 PMAG meet or exceed those that will deform aluminum/steel feed lips or body material, generally to an extent that will cause enough deformation of the metal to change feed geometry/performance and increase stoppages significantly, if not render the magazine non-functional.

>The PMAG however is RESILIENT. If it absorbs an impact that will deform other magazines, or even if it does crack, it returns to its exact same orientation and geometry it started with, and certain GEN M3 design features make any damage to or breakage of the feed lips themselves extremely unlikely. We deliberately destroy PMAGS and then test their ability to maintain reliable feeding when cracked or split.

>The PMAG is resilient and returns to a set geometry when deflected. Rather than allow deformation that can result in a magazine that may not feed, we would rather accept a crack and a magazine that runs than a softer or more ductile magazine that allows deformation and stoppages.

>The GEN M3 PMAG features a slimmer profile and floor plate design than previous generations of PMAG, with improved texture for a positive grip under wet, muddy, cold, or other adverse conditions, and a paint pen dot matrix for easy marking and tracking. This slimmer profile fits better in magazine pouches for greater usability.

>The GEN M3 PMAG Features an over-travel insertion stop, which prevents over-insertion of the magazine under stress or vigorous open-bolt reloads, as well as providing an extra measure of durability for weapon functionality after loaded weapon drops or when using the magazine as a monopod.

Generally, I go for polyformance. It's not match grad precision ammo, but it works

Avoid lacquer coated ammo.
>>
>>31508462
>Avoid lacquer coated ammo.

why?
>>
>>31508442
They continued to function, but I had to take a file and fix the feed lips. My assumption is the bolt somehow caused burrs to form along the feed lips. No clue how it did it.
>>
If youre gonna buy Wolf buy wolf gold. Steel shoots dirtier. Always go with brass if you have the choice
>>
>>31508514

I want what is cheapest and don't care about cleaning a dirty gun or wearing out a barrel 200 rounds sooner.
>>
>>31508475
Generally not a huge deal but it will gum up bolts, firing pins, extractors, etc.

Especially if you're gun gets hot.

You'll just need to clean it very well, but it's a pain so I just avoid it. Silver bear use zinc instead of lacquer, haven't had issues with that.
>>
>>31508512
So it's just cosmetic flaking.

I'm sure if you shot a few hundred more rounds the bolt would do the same thing the files did.

>>31507913
They're both steel case, military classic is more often lacquer-coated.

Both shoot dirty as fuck and sometimes get stuck in the gun because the steel doesn't fire-form/obturate to the chamber as well as brass.

>>31508514
This. Personally I would upgrade to Wolf Gold and just pick up the once-fired brass to sell on Gunbroker.

>>31508462
>>31508551
>avoid lacquer-coated ammo
Polymer coating sticks in chambers and gets just as dirty as lacquer. Pull a bullet, pop the primer, and hit the lacquer with a blowtorch if you want to confirm yourself. It doesn't melt. The "molten lacquer" that people blame for stuck cases is carbon fouling that shooters get with polymer as well. The red bullshit is primer sealant.
>>
>>31508551
Silver Bear, Golden Bear, and Brown Bear use higher quality powders than Wolf and Tulammo, that's why they're usually cleaner and the cases stick less often.
>>
>>31508559
About the Pmags. It wasn't only cosmetic, I had to file them to get it back working 100%. The burrs were causing hang ups. As the round was being picked up it would catch and fail to feed.
>>
>>31508559

You sell brass on GB? How much do you usually get for that? What's a fair price to sell it?
>>
>>31508585
That is really fucking weird. At least they started working after you fixed them.

If you sent them to Magpul instead of DIY fixing they'd probably replace them along with a little extra so they could dissect it. I've never had problems with my four M2 and four M3 PMAGs.

>>31508588
$50-$80 per 1000. It's a bit low but it just helps drive down the cost of a case of ammo since I don't reload.

As of right now Wolf Polyformance and Military Classic are the exact same fucking round.

Military Classic used to be lacquer coated for better rust prevention for storage and was also primer sealed, but barnaul changed things up and theyre in the middle of some rebranding stuff so atm its the same fucking shit from the same (2)? factories in russia.

Also do not listen to any of the stupid cocksuckers in this thread whining about steelcase and telling you to waste money on brass when you arent reloading, steel is better than fine, lube your rifles you dipshits.

Do you collect the brass after you shoot and hand it to the range bully so he doesnt buttfuck your sissy asshole or do you just like to pay more money for no reason?
