Got out of school early yesterday so I went innawoods. Found a really nice place for a makeshift range. Also Innawoods Thread.
Took my new Hungarian Hi Power with me and shot some bottles I found. Surprisingly accurate, even with the sights being slightly off.
I also found this neat little fungus on the ground.
I saw this and at first I thought it was dried blood but it was actually a tiny fungus.
I need some advice /k/
So a friend of mine who recently aquired a S&W 1076 FBI issue is willing to trade for my RIA 1911 chambered in 10mm as well.
The 1076 looks like its in good condition, not sure how many rounds have been put through it, where my RIA is only 3 years old, with less than 1000 rounds.
Should I trade? What do?
Trade it
Those smiths are fucking tanks
>>31511794
I've always heard that 10mm has killed itself though
>>31511737
Trade immediately. Not only is it better for shooting at shit, they're pretty damn rare where as your phlipshit delta elite knock off is still being made.
I asked an older friend of mine weather or not i should build an AR-15, and he said yes and he would get the parts for me (inb4 underage; i'm not, he's just being generous because i don't have much money right now). So, what's the best completed AR-15 lower receiver for a moderate price? Money is no object for him, but I want to be respectful and not give him an expensive ass parts list.
Literally anything but polymer/80%
I personally like the rainier lowers, but nothing wrong with an anderson
>>31511735
Gonna depend on who has what on sale for any given day. PSA usually has some fucked up (cosmetic blemish) ones for cheaper ($175 or so) but there may be some random deal out there.
>>31511760
>>31511783
while we're on the topic, do you have any recommendations for completed uppers? I'm good with tools and I'm sure I could put one together, but I have no shame and would rather just get a completed upper. Is there much price difference? Also, do you have any mid-range recommendations? I'm doing online research but there's so much variation that it's a little confusing
are you stocking up on ammo before the big happening on 10/4
>>31511654
What do you mean OP
>implying I'm not always stocking up on ammo
What ARE you implying, OP?
>>31511666
>>31511694
another /pol/ predicted happening
so probably zero chance of it actually happening
http://archive.4plebs.org/pol/thread/89464398/#q89477777
OP's ID in the thread being roman numerals for 10/4 and some guy getting quints saying it was going to happen were spooky though
>China copies US tanks
>China copies US jets
>China copies US ships
>China doesn't copy US small arms
Why is this?
The QBZ-95 is a pretty massive deviation from the AR and unlike other things leans more in the direction of euro bullpups.
Why wouldn't they copy the AR?
Presumably they ran tests of a few dozen firearms, and the QBZ was the best combination of reliability, role-effectiveness, and mostly just good ol' communist price manipulation and contractor kickbacks.
Lowest bidder + party of Mao.
>>31511634
They do copy the AR; it's just not issued to the military. FWIW, the QBZ was developed around the round it's chambered in; 5.8x42mm. This was done to replace the 7.62x39 several decades ago as everyone made the transition to smaller rounds.
>>31511700
FWIW, Russians also copy the AR-15 and IIRC it has been used by some special operator types, but again, it's just the way the world works.
Why don't we have arc pistols? why don't we have charge weapons that can be charged like let's say a Gauss gun to reach a high damage output or penetration.
>why arn't vidya gaems real
>>31511628
>Why don't tasers exist
>>31511628
While this is probably some elaborate kind of troll, I'll take this moment to explain as best I can.
We don't have charge weaponry of any kind except tasers. Why? Because tasers fucking suck at less than lethal, JMB forbid lethal.
Bullets do the same thing more efficiently and cheaper.
Now, we don't have Gauss cannons/rifles or railguns because the actual power required to make them function as anything worth a fuck (read: equal to or more powerful than a regular bullet firing rifle) makes them no longer man portable (frankly it makes them borderline non-portable at all)
>posters on /k/ seriously believe that Mosin Nagants are bad purchases at the current price
>seriously claiming the "similarly priced" Savage Axis and Ruger American are better when they don't even come in shootable condition and you need to drop at least $100 more to get a scope that will stand up to a decent amount of shooting, and more money on top of that for scope bases and rings
>after all that you just get a soulless plastic hunten rahfle when compared to a Mosin Nagant
>even with 7.62x54r surplus being less common anything you could get the Savage Axis or Ruger American chambered in sans .223 will cost the same or more
Why do people seriously recommend those guns as "superior" alternatives to the Mosin Nagant?
>$100 scope
If you wanted to start a bitter poorfag thread you should have just said so.
>>31511575
$299 for a brand new scoped hunting rifle that will do < 1" groups at 100 yards all day long, or $250-$300 for a nugget. Gee, I wonder.
>>31511575
You can get a Yugo Mauser for a bit more and it's a much better rifle.
M44 carbines and Finn Nuggets are top tier though. PU snipers too.
Hey /k/
Have you already purchased your 30 cal. Magazine Clip yet?
>>31511413
I bought the entire stock from my local bass pro shop then I immediately turned it in to the nearest constabulary. Hillary said to do whatever it takes to keep the streets safe (^:
>>31511413
God, this guy is suck dickless cuck.
They aren't high capacity though :(
Why is SIG selling so much Sig branded shit lately? Isn't the Romeo line of optics just rebranded Chinese Sun crap?
I feel like Sig is selling out hard and riding on their name with all of this shit. I was going to buy a Romeo and keep reading that they are made in China.
Seriously, Sig? They are soiling their name tbqh
>>31511297
Yeah, they've been doing that for a while. They've also actually started innovating with some products as well so I've stopped cursing Ron Cohen's name quite as much, but dem profits bro.
>>31511297
I'm tempted in buying one of their 1-4 scopes.
We are about to kick start rahowa.
Post pretty/rare pictures of aircraft that have been retired and relegated to museums.
>Planes must be out of active military service across all nations to qualify.
For example, F14 is still in use ion Iran so is not valid.
B-57 / Canberra is being used by NASA and not any militaries so it is valid.
>Aircraft with no airworthy examples get bonus points.
>Do not discuss aircraft's relative capabilities as someone will be triggered.
Going to start with British stuff because that's the folder I'm in.
I was going to post a Hawker Hunter but apparently the Somali air force still uses it...

This is why we can't have nice things.
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2016-09-29/why-you-need-an-m-65-field-jacket-this-fall
>Fall is here, with its breezy evenings and confounding “transitional” coats. Say you have a leather jacket already, and a denim one; you’re still in a pickle if it’s misty out, or just on the cold side. For a casual-yet-dressed-up option in these instances, go for the increasingly popular field jacket, also known as an M-1965 jacket. The M-1965, or M-65 for short, is the perfect transitional jacket to wear as the leaves start changing.
>>31511135
>$890 for a hipster chic M-65.
>>31511135
Nigger the M65 was already ruined by the early 1980s
>>31511160
But did they come in $5000+ suede?

Hey /k/,
I'm going to a gun show later today. I'm looking to buy my first rifle (most likely an SKS) but I'm a fucking autist and don't know what to look for when negotiating a price.
What is proper etiquette when handling weapons at a gun show? I've done some research on the rifle, mainly with identifying the different variants. But I'm new to guns and have virtually no handling experience, and I don't know the names for all of the parts.
How can I inspect a rifle with amateur knowledge, while still trying to "act experienced" so I don't get preyed on by vendors looking to make more money than they should?
My budget for an SKS is $400, but I can see myself going up to $450 should it be in great condition and comes with some ammo/sling/etc. Does this sound reasonable given the notorious gun show inflated prices?
Look for matching serial numbers and make sure the barrel isn't shot out
>>31510734
If there's a sign that says "don't touch"
don't
fucking
touch.
Otherwise, follow your common sense rules on gun safety. don't muzzle sweep, don't be a nigger, and don't act like a "know-it-all". 400 will -probably- get you a Yugo or a Norinco. don't buy a bubba'd one unless it's got a significant price markdown.
>>31510760
And feel free to be thorough with questions if they want your money they can put up with it
So I recently moved to the bay area for a great job. Coincidentally, and unfortunately, I also got the gun itch.
I am interested in building an AR-15 or two but am completely confused on what I can and can't legally do. Does /k/ have any guides or info on the process for AR-15 builds that I can legally take to a range, etc? I'm thinking of building from a 80% polymer lower, but am open to a complete lower if I don't have to deal with tons of crap/paperwork
>>31510666
Oh shit, nobody told you? It's over. There is no point in owning firearms in California anymore. You can't comply and you can't resist. Best not even to try. Just enjoy the weather and fresh produce and find other more acceptable hobbies.

Fuck off. I got Mimms on my side

maybe but you still live in fresno county so...
