It's that time again, time for you to guess the ammo!
I shot three paper plates at the range, each with a different cartridge. You need to guess which plate was shot by which cartridge from left to right!
Guessing format:
>[Guess for plate one], [guess for plate two], [guess for plate three]
Example:
>.22 lr, .22 long, .22 WRF
I'll let you know how many out if three you got correct!
If you can get all three you'll get 50 4chan Gold membership points!
>>31505441
.380 auto
9mm luger
.45 ACP
>>31505459
0/3
You got none correct
Left plate close up
If I already own an M59 as a shtf survival rifle. Should I build an AR pistol instead of a full sized rifle? How much energy am I sacrificing ballistically? I'm debating what to do.
>>31505354
Get an ARES SCR in 556, it's a long rifle stock that works with any AR upper.
.223/556 is much more common than an M59 and ARs are ugly as fuck.
>>31505354
Don't worry about it, your fantasy will never happen.
>>31505354
Buy a carbine at least.
If you're that dead set even after the carbine, buy a stripped lower and sit on it until you decide to assemble an ar pistol.
How do I sharpen big knives? I usually use my lansky, but it fucks up the tip for some reason.
Just the tip?
>>31505789
Yes. It's all fucked to hell and I don't want to keep removing metal until I know what's going on.
Are you dropping the tip on the outer casing at the end of your pull? I was doing that at first. Wait. Are you using the blade medic?
The other day I saw modern redisgns of the M1 Carbine and also some AK-12.
This made me wonder why we haven't seen the Thompson get some modernization?
>>31505113
Because it doesn't need it.
>>31505113
Because modern guns exist
>>31505113
Because... No. Shut the fuck up. We didn't need a 'modernized' M1 carbine and we sure as fuck don't need a 'modernized' Thompson. Appreciate them for what they were and put down the fucking polymer.
Unboxing thread. If anyone can guess what it is I'll post the lyrics to West End Girls by the Petshop Boys.
>>31505072
Post lyrics faggot.
>>31505072
There are no more East End boys. It's 70% Muslim now.

How about we guess what I just bought first, you anarcho-fascist kike motherfucker.
Post your favorite military operation
>>31505005
I've only been in two. I suppose Operation Blue Spoon.
>>31505005
Operation:
Lunch
Happens every day in every army all around the world.
Thousends of hungry guys storming messhalls with determination and purpose never seen before.
Battle of Tsushima straight, a total curbstomp.
Will I fund terrorists buying Turkish firearms??
>>31504997
my exact conundrum
Yes
Fuck the T*rks
Buy a glock, faggot, or shell out for the gun it's imitating.
>>31504997
You fund terrorism by paying your taxes and using gasoline. What difference does it make?
ITT: Things /k/ is wrong about.
>Tapco is shit!
Tapco is cheap, but functional. Their AK mags for example function well at half the weight of milsurp mags.
>.40 SW is shit!
.40 excels at barrier penetration such as autoglass and is popular among law enforcement for that reason. While it has objectively less capacity than 9mm, the difference is small and it retains that advantage over .45 ACP.
>bullpups are shit!
Bullpups, like every other design, have advantages and disadvantages. Know what they are, which can be fixed, and what you can deal with.
>STANAGs are shit!
With anti-tilt followers they're arguably superior to and certainly on par with pmags.

>Slavshit requires no maintenance
I've had multiple failures to feed of varying severity and one debilitating failure to extract between my two Russian SKS's. All ammunition was combloc surplus.
The FTE was caused by a lack of proper maintenance on my part. I had allowed rust to develop in the chamber by not swabbing it out with solvent properly after a prior shooting session. A spent round of Czech surplus was so badly stuck that the extractor of the rifle tore off the rim, and the case had to be pounded out with a rod.
The FTF's are usually a failure of the rifle to go fully into battery. They seem to only occur when the rifles have had a lot off ammo put through them, and the charging handle just requires a little bump with the heel of the palm.
I don't own an AK (Canadian) but I think it's kinda funny when people tout how little maintenance they require when the ammunition they were originally intended to use will rapidly rot the gun from the inside out if it's not thoroughly cleaned with solvent.
>>31504999
>if it's not thoroughly cleaned with solvent.
It's just salt, water or piss will form solution and wash it out just fine.
>>31504747
/k/ is basically where uneducated madfags go to shitpost so it's no wonder they're so retarded.
I'd join the army if it wasn't for dedicating to being a poorfag for the rest of my life
>>31504730
Use your fucking GI bill, retard.
>>31504730
Translation: I'd join the Army if I wouldn't piss my pants at the first sign of danger.
>>31504743
This guy's service record is nuts. It'd be cool if he was our Democratic Candidate this year.
>>31504695

>>31504695
Still no luck?
>>31504695
I have it. How do seed
Hey /k/, you're pretty cool, I don't really think I can fit in with grown men that own guns. I'm kind of a weeaboo.
the p90 is my favorite gun. I want to own one. I don't think you can have an automatic assault personal defense weapon in arizona so oh well.
>>31504588
You need special privileges, such as being law enforcement, military, or a Class III dealer or manufacturer, if you want to own a P90 anywhere in the USA. Look up the Hughes Amendment. The machinegun registry in America is a closed registry and the P90 was first produced several years after the registry was closed.
Just get one and bumpfire it.
>>31504771
The trigger is too heavy and the recoil is too mild.
Does anyone actually own these things? I have never seen one at a gun store, gun show, used at the range or anyone here who claims to own one
>>31504573
my dad inlaw has one its heavy af... but it shoots alright
>>31504573
whats the point of these
>>31504903
It used to be known as the Winchester BAR until FN bought them out and tried to militarize what was essentially a semi auto hunting rifle but it never caught on much like everything else FN produces
Has /k/ ever been kicked out of or banned from a gun range?
>>31504412
You have to be pretty stupid to get yourself banned from the range.
yea I got kicked out of Colonial Shooting Academy in VA for bringing a bottle of water into the range. All the gun stores here are pretty fudd-tier except for a small LEO worshipping gun shop
If you got banned from a range for anything but picking up your brass then you deserve it
How difficult would it have been to do what Oswald did in terms of marksmanship? As in, how difficult is it to score a headshot on a moving target 80 meters away with a bolt-action rifle? There is an argument about this on /his/ right now with some arguing that it was so easy that Oswald should have hit the first shot, and others arguing that it was so difficult it should have been impossible. What's the real deal?
>>31504411
>USA
Leave this argument, the true does not exist
>>31504411
Difficult if you've never done it before, easy if you even have basic experience leading / trapping moving targets.
Basically, a hunter with a couple kills on his belt could do it.
>>31504411
Maybe he just got lucky?
