How do i make it so that her wink looks more NATURAL?
>>2648536
Go in front of a mirror and wink. See what moves in your face and what doesn't, what wrinkes appear, how that changes your facial expression. It's not just the eye you need to be worrying about.
>>2648537
This.
Movement in the face causes it to change shape.
>>2648536
also you wouldn't see her left ear from this angle. it looks like its coming out of her cheek.
ITT: We debunk popular /ic/ sayings
>normies are easily impressed by art
>even a shit artist can wow normies
Tell that to this poor fucker.

normies are easily impressed by *cute art
That pic is just some ugly old white male in a tuxedo. It doesn't do anything for the normie brain after a long day at the office.
>>2645403
Yeah, I'm thinkin it might be the concept. Obviously he's no where near being a pro but he isn't complete shit either. I also think the normies got mad at him because he dropped out of college to pursue art, which most people look down on.
Really nice! Some of the best I've seen on /ic/ in a while, in fact, you might be the best out of all of us. That means you don't need to improve in any way, shape, or form. You're already at the top of your game and the top of the world. Just make sure to never post your work outside of deviantart because other sites don't deserve you. Congratulations, dude, you're at a level that I only hope to dream of.
>>2644884
It's nice. The values are epic. I gotta say man, I like it, I like it a lot.
Throw down some grime art.Love the style of it.
>>2648705
this looks like anything on adult swim, how is it supposed to be defined as grime art... it just looks like a cartoon.
could you maybe provide a better example!?!
>>2648708
I am new in these kind of stuff.Maybe some critics?
Every once and a while on Sunday's I will sit down a draw something. Where I am supplies are very limited so I use what I have around me. Using multiple markers and the back of a poster I drew the first image then downloaded a app called prisma and used the filters on my own drawing and the out come was pretty cool. Just curious what you guys think.
I wanted to test out a more low-res style because I like the pixelated look, but I'm not very good at this and my anatomy is shit tier. Should I just give up?

Nice trips though.

Have you ever known an artist that killed themselves?
>>2633897
I don't follow kids
Personally? No.
But I followed the guy who used to do 1930s nightmare theater before he killed himself.
His last comic was a joke about suicide, and was actually pretty funny.
>>2633904
What was his name?
>artists who don't improve at all for years
>artists who draw the same shit for years
>artists who always draw anime and nothing else
>artists who complain about how theyre not improving when theyre not even trying

FAQ:
Something's broken, what do I do?
>The site is currently in the alpha phase of development and is being built around us as we compete so sometimes things go wrong. If you ever need any help send me a tweet @LavaFlake or shoot me an email [email protected].
What do we draw?
>Whatever you want. At this point there's no required topic so draw your heart out. Make sure you submit at least a half hour of work or you may get a low effort warning.
What's a low effort warning?
>The goal is to get people to draw every day by turning it into a competition. The low effort warning system is to prevent people from posting last minute, quick sketches when they're feeling lazy. If you receive a warning and it happens again within a month you'll be eliminated.
>This rule has been the cause of a lot of concern amongst newer artists so let me reiterate: this system is to police low effort content and has nothing to do with the quality of the work. New artists are more than welcome.
What happens if I'm eliminated?
>A new Last Artist Standing challenge starts every week. If you get eliminated then get it together and rejoin next week.
How can there be a new Last Artist Standing challenge every week?
>This is a way to let new artists join in and to allow re-entry for the eliminated. Every week a new challenge is started. If you joined on week 1 and make it to week 2 then your daily submission counts for both the first and second Last Artist Standing. If you get eliminated then you're eliminated from both challenges and you'll be able to rejoin next week.
Will I have an advantage if I join later in the week?
>The winner of a Last Artist Standing will be the artist with the longest streak. If you join on day 1 and last until day 85 then you'll have a streak of 85. If there's only one person left in the challenge when you're eliminated but they joined on Day 7 then they'll need to continue on for another week. If they're eliminated before then, you win.

Didn't see one for the past couple days, so I'll make one.
Also I have a question:
How does one improve their design sense? Is it just a matter of many iterations of a subject until you find something that works?

Anyone else have their drawing hand injured in such a way? Any way around it? Literally a nightmare come true
It's not like you're going to make it anyway
>>2648105
Just switch to braindrawing, at least for a while until your hand heals up. Don't get too stuck on it though before you use it as a crutch
Is this a drawing or a photo and how do you know?
I would redline but the file size is too small

Impossible to tell.
To the pros who manage an insane level of productivity, day in and day out -
How do you do it?
I guess expecting myself to ahve that when Im just some amateur who is living as a 23 year old boomerang kid that still plays video games and shitposts is just unheard of, especially with the literal no-discipline and no-backbone that I have.
Do I just need to grow up first?
Pot and depression
>>2646812
Can't really speak for everyone, but I have a few more years than 23, and my take on the growing up thing is that it's bullshit. You don't really grow up any more than you make yourself. It's as simple as, and as fucking hard as: If you want to be different, then be different.
Want to have an insane level of productivity day in and day out? Then schedule your day. Shower, keep your place clean, exercise, take regular breaks in your drawing time, and limit the vidya and other stuff to when you have your drawing done.
Discipline can take time to build, but you have to start somewhere. YOU have to start somewhere.
>>2646823
Plus alcohol.
tell myself im gonna practice all day
feel bad when not practicing
at the end of the day i havent done shit
What the fuck?
Anon, you know the drill. Don't try to think about it, just fucking do it.
Okay, that whole "reach for the stars and you might not get there, but..." thing is pretty bullshit when it comes to starting stuff.
If you tell yourself you're going to draw for 16 hours, are you going to start? Probably not. That's a huge task. Instead, just tell yourself. "I'm going to draw 1 figure." Chances are, once you've started, you'll want to keep going.
Alternatively, make rules for yourself. If you watch animu or TV series, make it a rule that you can only watch an episode once you've done some sort of drawing.
Be realistic. Work with the situation you're in, not the one you'd like to be in. It's the only way to get where you want to go.
You're telling yourself the wrong thing. Take it one step at a time. Say 5 minutes then 10 then 20 then an hour until you've reached the end of the day. Stamina is a thing and so is focus, so you'll need to build it day to day and know you won't be able to draw for long periods of time if you're not used to the routine.
Tell us something more than "because I want to".
Were you moved by a painting as a kid? Do you want to make cartoons? Are you into drawing porn?
I got stories. So many stories I want to tell. And I've been told I'm a half decent writer. But I think my expository prose is lacking and who reads books anymore anyways.
So I turned to drawing in the hopes that I could make a comic. I drew stick figure comics as a kid, even made a couple.
After watching lots of fantasy and sci-fi cartoons, comics, manga, anime, video games, all that shit, I want to make something of my own.
This was something I drew years ago. Used to be my most developed concept.
>>2627782
Always wanted to create my own world visually, whether by a game or comic. Mainly inspiration came from manga and japanese artist so their a major influence, however I also like the fluidity of a lot of western and European artist aswell.
escapism, I used to be addicted to immersive RPGs but nothing is stronger than the world you create yourself.
Besides, you know that intense feeling you get when you see something amazingly beautiful made by another person? It's like you have to pass it on somehow. Inspiration, I guess. I feel that a lot, and my worst weeks/months are the ones when I can't find that feeling no matter how hard I look.
