I'm going to make some serious works for an art competition and I've developed a new style for myself, it's basically very thick brush strokes. I would like to read your critics .here are some of my studies 15-30 min works
naked and afraid edition
My latest (and considerably best) piece of digital art. So much easier than using paper and a pencil.
What is a good program to use? I'm gonna buy a Windows 10 laptop soon and don't want to spend a bunch of money on the drawing program

I don't know if i'm the only one that draw better in folder paper than in a normal one. What do you think? Plz recommend.

1. Draw on blank paper if you're going to show it.
2. Read the sticky.
Hi /ic/. I wasn't sure where to ask this, so I thought I'd ask all you lovely professionals. Ignoring the Haruhi, I just wanted to know what kind of style of art is in pic related, or if there's anything close to it? I'm not sure how to describe it, maybe a pale industrial feel of some sort, I just can't identify. Artist name is toi8, but I can't seem to find much about him/her, and even then I'm more interested in the background and atmosphere in this specific piece rather (looking more into it he does have other art pieces similar, but just in this case pic related is what I'm going for). Although I did find some stuff, I still don't know the style or style similar to it. Help would be greatly appreciated.
Also my terminology isn't great so sorry.
It's symbolism. It's just done with an anime style.
I see a lot of these same images with the same story. As if the figure is WAITING for something. It often symbolizes that the artist is too lazy or doesn't have the work ethic to create their own journey in life. rather they sit and dream that someone will do everything for them.

you become an hero and stream it or gtfo to /r9k/, faggot
any tips to paint textures like this?
The background is literally just an extremely zoomed in picture of a texture as it is pixelated, other than that, the cape is probably a texture of a sack that you usually use for rice.
Textures like these are usually transparent pictures put over the drawing so it's not really "painted"

can you do it in ps and show me how its done?
im struggling to replicate this

Seriously, just grab any random texture, go through your layer modes until you find one that doesn't look like shit, reduce the opacity and paint parts out. Don't forget to rebalance your colors with a ton of curves and ramps and other digital effects to make your picture look as disgusting as possible.
I live in central america, i only only have elementary education.
I don't have skill on any field
But i always liked to witness art.
What do i need to be a profesional concept artist?
Is it profitable?

Listen to Feng Zhu's Design Cinema podcast. He's shit on here for various reasons but he's right. Concept art is such a deluded industry where anyone thinks they can get in, when in reality you need to sacrifice a lot (literally and metaphorically) to even have a chance to make it.

>tl;dr: concept artists are the 1% of the 1%

This thread is meant for artists who might want to try to make anime works in-between their studies. It is strongly recommended that you use this thread in conjunction with learning the elements and fundamentals of art. You can also discuss the visual elements of various professional artists as well if you keep it relatively articulate and civil.
Submit your drawings, receive feedback or critique others! Share your knowledge and remember to thank those who've critiqued or red-lined your drawings. Most importantly, do not respond to shitposts!

Remember the words of our good friend Glen Vilppu: 'There are no tools, only rules'
is this good?
Post your best wizard artwork.

did you make this?
>>2645105
No, I did.

The rules have nothing against posting artwork that isn't your own. Feel free to critique it, if you'd like.
Sup bros. Does the art style have a consistency? Feed back welcomed. If you want to be an asshole, feel free, but please make sense.
Also feel free to share your work. I will give back critiques.
The work is consistent, simple but thematically similar content matter. You might consider how each character is placed in the background, the standing characters seem grounded and have place in the scene, while the other characters seem to float in a void. Perhaps experiment with ways you could bring the floating characters into the scene, like how you have used shadowing in the grounded pieces.
what do you guys think of Proko?

Pussy little bitch didn't wanna set up the hangout, what's the problem?
Quick question... Are gaming PC's suitable for Photoshop and 3D applications? I have a old ass pc and I'm gonna treat myself to a nice new machine that can run both the latest games with high settings and be a badass workstation.
not going to make it
you need 8+ hours a day to git gud
>>2647564
Are you retarded? Of course they are. A gaming computer is essentially just a very powerful computer. The only difference between running games and other kinds of applications, is that games rely more on the graphics card, while non-gaming software usually takes better advantage of multithreading, but this is more or less irrelevant.
