Can someone tell me a good source where i can learn manga drawing skills
>>2649031
learn to draw realistic then stylize.
anyway, don't start your own threads and use the question thread.
there's no such thing as "manga drawing" skills.
Mark Crilley on youtube, look him up he knows his stuff. Also check out the Structure of Man anatomy course by Riven Pheonix.
Need suggestion on this, and also what would anon suggest me do to improve more ?
Excuse my English for it is my second language

can you guys tell me what's the educational background of zone?
is he self taugh or does he has a degree?
>>2648725
Do we even know who he is?
>>2648725
I can tell you right now he's entirely self-taught.
Also please idolize a real animator. You'll thank yourself later.
Everyone's self taught
Here's my problem,
When I'm inking my drawings I don't understand where and how I am suposed to draw these big flat stylised shadows (Like they do in Comics)
Is there any tutorials out there to help me ?
>>2646996
There is a way to become good at stylized western comic book shadows. It's called thousands of hours of practice. There ya go.
>>2646996
It's the exact same concept as what fine artists do when blocking in shadows in their figure drawings with a directional light source. Just get good at understanding how light hits forms.
What I love about comics the most is when the layout isn't restricted to rectangular boxes and is so immersive it makes your eyes glide across with ease as if you were watching a movie.
Is there an easy way to learn this magic? I know it has a lot to do with general composition and storyboarding, but is there something like a set of rules and algorithms to follow when you want to have a dynamic composition in your comic?
Lastly, if it's just about reading lots of comics, please flood me with some that are worthy of studying.

I used to draw from imagination a lot as a kid, but had no concept of colour theory or temperature relationships.
How can I draw a scene from imagination with a cohesive colour palette?
Draw scenes from life first
You won't be able to imagine or paint what you can't understand

thanks

Read through the first couple chapters here so you have an understanding of the theory behind lighting:
http://www.huevaluechroma.com/
Then do studies from life, photos, or masters and try to really analyze and understand WHY each object appears the way it does.
Also don't forget that you can always use reference. Especially for something like a palette, you can use an indirect ref. If you are painting a forest scene from imagination, you can google image some forests and pull them up on the side to see what types of greens typically appear in there, how the leaves might be more yellow when the sunlight passes through them, how the shadows may take on a grey or blue tinge etc.
Is game art "real" art?
nothing is real

really makes u think...
Is game art real "art"?
Just seen on steams FB page, apparently they have a wide range of tutorials now for shmeckles. Any potential in this?

>looks like by that guy riven phoenix
>opens link and it's him
it's bad, skip it.
>>2648793
What are you talking about? Riven Pheonix is a great teacher and /ic/ recommends him highly.
Im beginning my portfolio to get into art school. I have three years to do this. How did you go about creating a portfolio? Any links to good portfolios one can look at ? Also portfolio general thread.
Draw from direct observation, or in case of a self portrait, using a mirror.
I bought a Foam Geometric Solids Set by Nasco from Amazon. That's a really good prop to have to practice drawing still life with.
Get a halogen lamp with adjustable arm and brightness to set up the lighting for the still life.
Search "risd bicycle" on google. Look up "portfolio critique" by Clara Lieu, adjunct professor at RISD.

>How did you go about creating a portfolio?
The usual process, pick a spec, thumbnail, finalize. Do this until you have like 20 finished pieces or so.
>Any links to good portfolios one can look at ?
Any professional artist has a good portfolio. It's usually their own website.
>>2648401
For what its worth, this was my application portfolio to otis and lcad. Not super great or anything but it did earn me almost half-off tuition merit scholarships for both schools.

how legit is to code a software to make fractal or abstract art and sell it's paintings (basically big prints) for money to modern art people?
>>2647855
About as legit as your mastery of the English language.
>>2647855
Look up Pierre Brassau. What you're proposing wouldn't be any worse.
>>2647871
Or any new
Code art is old and busted by now.
In art, what is the the most aesthetic body?
ur mom
>>2646637
Small amounts of fat so that all of the major muscles are present and can be hinted at with broken up lines, but smaller more unsettling or unnoticeable muscles are gone because of the fat. Bodies with 0% fat are repulsive. Also when drawing men that "V thing" that leads to the crotch is damn near critical
>>2646637
For men it's typically been the ideal that was laid out by the ancient Greeks such as the main figure in Laocoon or the Belvedere Torso.
For women the ideal tends to change a fair bit from culture to culture and throughout time.
POST UR SHIT AND STUDY SOME SHIT NIGGERS.
What does /ic/ think about The Structure of Man HD online course? I have been going through it from a recommendation in the beginner thread and I gotta say it's been helping me out. Thoughts?

Literal shit. Learn anatomy from someone who can actually draw.
Books: Vilppu, Hampton, Peck, Bammes, Bridgman, Vanderpoel.
Videos: Vilppu, Rey Bustos, New Masters Academy, Watts Online

That figure is flat as fuck, and the head was drawn in 3 different perspectives at once, it's shit.
