>ITS NOT ENOUGH TO DRAW EVERY DAY
Too many people don't understand this.

A lot of artists online just stagnant when they get to a certain level and never venture out of their comfort zone because they found a niche and have enablers. It's funny when they complain how they aren't improving even though all they ever do is comfort zone shit aka that thing they are known for.
>>
>>2638123

I'm not a drawfag, but I know how this is. I'm always critical of my photography because I know that it's the only way I'm going to be the best at what I do. Same thing with my story writing (which I can link you if you so desire, but I warn you, it's pretty hardcore smut).

The accolades of others should mean nothing to an artist, except for the money that popularity makes. The thing that really matters is the criticism. In my opinion, hearing negative things about my work makes me sad that I didn't please, but I like it better that way because I know what I can do better.
>>
>Draw every day.
>Draw

Fuccboi, isn't going to get far colouring sketches. Paint and sculpt negroids.
>>
>>2638150

There are a wide variety of coloring options that don't involve paint or brushes.
>>
>>2638134
>The accolades of others should mean nothing to an artist
It normally validates them to some degree and is motivation for them to not give up. But as far as pushing them forward to become a better artist, it cripples them. Only criticism helps with that. You need a good balance of both. But you have waaaaay too many artists and fans who take honest criticism as a personal attacks. To the point where you literally have to walk on egg shells whenever you critique, which is dumb. Fans are the worst about this tho. And truth be told, a lot of internet artists are only in it for the cheap internet fame and ego boosts more than the journey to actually become a better artist everyday. Which is fine, but they shouldn't complain when people call it like it is and say they're stagnant or that their work gets boring after a while, because those are valid opinions when you don't leave your comfort zone.
>>
>>2637089
>impossible
you're never going to make it if you can't get yourself to draw every day
making something better each time isnt the point, rather the fact that you're TRYING to do better every day - ie you're not just staying in your comfort zone. whether you actually succeed in making something better is another matter entirely.
>>
>>2637153
do you have the ligameme?

>>2638299
how long you been drawing? also try changing things up a bit. draw stuff with different palettes and brush settings. vary your colours more. the anatomy is pretty trashy so you should work on that first.

>schwarzenegger neck
>left arm fucked up, looks flat and malformed because elbow is apparently disconnected from the humerus
>hair is just a bunch of badly placed lines, no sense of flow, colors garish as fuck for something intended to be more "realistic"
>are you fucking shading skin with black? or some kind of dark gray-green? either way it's shit
>background lazy as fuc, ocean looks like jello
>those clouds
>shit lineart, shaky and not varied at all, even a little scratchy in places
>THOSE HANDS
>THAT FACE

the only somewhat decent part is the attempted rendering on the torso and inner-thighs, but it's obviously because that's clearly the only part of anatomy you actually study for extended periods of time. maybe if you stopped jacking off for two seconds you would be able to use your dominant hand for drawing because it looks like you tried to draw this with your non-dominant hand out of the corner of your eye while fapping to pokemon cosplayers

you didn't even try
>>
how do I stay interested and on track of studies if I work? Whenever I have days off I can't help but just focus on relaxing or doing lazy shit like vidya. I love drawing and I still doodle during my lunch breaks but I don't want to end up stagnant. I would appreciate critique and advice on what I should specifically work on so I can just have something to focus on when I have free time, instead of trying to cover everything. I feel like I can do so much better but the only thing standing in the way of that is me not being good enough.

instead of doodling, try doing quick practices like gestures or drawing boxes in perspective or drawing stuff around you like the sandwich you're eating. if you're feeling lazy, at least doodle something with a proper 3d construction

You aren't motivated. What I mean by that is: you want to be better at art, you know you need to practice, but there aren't necessarily any stakes. You feel like no one's looking, and you want to get gud before showing anyone anything you've done, but when you have the time to do studies, you'd rather just make more of the same shit for ass-pats when you DO return to the internet to post, because to the people who already eat your shit up, it doesn't matter if you get gud or not.

The solution is to throw yourself out there in a crowd that doesn't know you and won't just lap up your bullshit.

Take a basic drawing class at a community college. You'll get motivated by wanting to blow everyone else out of the water. There are actual other human beings expecting to see you studying, and you know if you try hard you can make it well worth their while to sneak a glance at your paper.

The shut-in equivalent to this would be to stream while drawing, even if just one person comes to watch. You'll feel motivated to stay on task and create something interesting.

Best/easiest way to draw standing, or general health advice for wrists, posture etc? I can't find any easels for purchase in my vicinity. I might make one myself.

And vice versa. Obviously right takes way more practice as it's a pretty masterfully done trawing, but many realist artists are surprisingly shit at drawing stylished stuff. The russian figure drawing guy could learn to do the animu shit faster than the other way around ofcourse.
