yes the trick is to eat A LOT of healthy food (like 5k cals+) fruits, veggies, lean meats, etc.
also, don't lift if you don't want muscles. just do sit ups and other exercises to reduce that spot

Read SS and learn how you dont need to adda lot of exercises. If you got rows and deadlift in your program then your traps are good.
Curls can be good to add, same with chest isolation.

Better for what? That is entirely subjective depending on your goals. If your goal is bodybuilding, then obviously yoga is not better than 'the gym'. If your goal is to be able wrap your legs around your own head then yeah, yoga is much better. Not all excercise is the same.
