I was deadlifting and I think I put on too much weight. On the 5th rep I felt a severe shooting pain in my upper back, then a tingling sensation in my arm and a pain in my chest. I thought I was gonna drop dead on the floor right then and there, but I sat down and breathed heavily and was fine.

Am I going to die? My back fucking hurts when I breathe too hard but the tingling and chest pain are gone.

Hey /fit/,

Fatty trying to get his shit together here.Yesterday was my second training day and I ran into a friend of mine at the gym (he's pretty /fit/ himself desu). When I told him about 5x5 he told me it sounded dumb. Since he has some experience in the matter I've been having second doubts ever since.
Here are my stats:

I had never touched free weights before sl. I loved it because it's simple and since you start low you got plenty of time to get used to lift.

I switched after a year. Sl is great if you don't have any previous experience

SL is good, don't get memed into thinking it's not. Either follow that or follow SS, you will gain strength regardless; they're very similar to eachother.

Isn't it better to start taking steroids above 45 years old?

I heard steroids can cause infertility. Is this true for all forms of anabolics?

Wouldn't it be better to have kids first then start taking them later in life?

Testosterone drops heavily during your 40's. Taking them at this age would be beneficial due to this and fertility wouldn't matter at this time because you already have offspring.

I'm failing school and need a back up plan, currently it's joining the Royal Marines then getting specialised as something I can use in civvie life afterwards.

Question is: What should I be doing to get fit? I'm already running 3 miles every 2 days, but I'm not sure to do about muscles, I can't get a gym membership, poor fag. I've got a rowing machine but I'm not sure how to use it and how to set it to best suit my needs.

What should my diet be?

Should I run more than 3 miles?

Run more lad and do a shite ton of push ups, situps and pull ups

Don't forget to work your hamstrings and glutes too, helps a huge amount during terrain walks with kit
