What is lifting post 30 like for brahs who have lifted for a while?

I'm starting to get tight elbows and shoulders. Thinking of eliminating heavy benching entirely from my routines.

Whats recovery time like? Notice any changes?

I'm 31, been lifting since I was 14 or so in High School. Generally, its the same as when I was younger but instead of going to the gym after school, I go after work.

Stretch more often, take days off if you strain yourself. Recovery is usually the same as before except you won't be 100% after a minor sprain in a day; usually takes 1-2 days.

tl;dr - stretch; you're not young anymore so you can't just hit the weights without stretching; I suggests 10-15 mins.

Warming up and stretching is mandatory.
Recovery goes into the toilet.
Being fat tanks your energy, but being cut to ribbons just kills your manhood.

This probably isn't very /plg/ related... but do I need to be super obsessive with calorie counting? I'm on a cut right now and I just eat two clean meals per day with high energy, but when I bulk I can usually have a good gut feeling with how much I'm having per meal. Is this a shitty way of dieting or will I be alright?

How do you workout every day? I'm always too DOMSed.

When your time is free 24/7 it's pretty damn easy.

Plus DOMS tends to go away once you've been working out long enough. Usually the biggest problem is that my lifts go down as the week goes on because I'm not giving my body enough rest.

However, not working out for two days tends to reset that problem plus I usually try to target different body parts on different days when possible.
