I can do 3x5 strict pull ups

how achievable is it to do 1x5 muscle ups in 1 year from now?
5 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>42253352
define muscleup. the shit you see that crossshitters do is not a strict muscle up.

you can do that kind of muscle up if you can do a pullup because it's all about momentum and technique.

here's how: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p7q0UhxPdLY

strict muscle up is much harder and 99% of videos on youtube are wrong. watch some legit ring gymnasts and how they do it and not crossfit idiots
>>
>>42253391
you are right, is this what you mean by strict:

https://youtu.be/Q5VECAgAmQo?t=194

3:14

this is wonderful, do you think even one is achievable? I have been lifting for a year, doing SS and I understand how hard this movement really is.

just my 2 cents, but i think the "prank" one is the safer one... you can see that the guy does not hang in there completely like in the "this is how you do it in 5 minutes"... not letting yourself hang in there completely is safer because your fornix humeri is not getting so much stress from the weight of your body

Expect liquid shits.
>>
>>42253286
you can short term but after a while (around a week) you'll start getting very sick and start having problems. no food for up to 2-3 days shouldn't be a problem unless you exercise
>>
Someone post that retard which ended with liver issues and eventual death with this
>no food only vitamins bs

I'm 62 kg 177 cm and lift light weight for high reps 8 - 20 depending on the exercise or to failure which might only be a few reps
I did strong lifts for a couple months and got to 105 kg squats and then dropped squatting all together and do leg press, tonight I did single leg press with no weight for 3 x 20

why should everyone lift heavy low reps again?

>>42253162
Not realy.
Due to women having less fast twich muscle fibers women should lift with higher reps than men.

I have my first ever K1 Kickboxing group class today. No previous experience with martial arts.

Am I going to get my ass kicked cardio wise etc.

Will I be eased into it? It's not a beginners course it's just open for everyone
>>
>>42253311
See above but replace kickboxing with cardio.
If you want to dosomthing else you can do shit like hiit.
For kickboxing i recommend burpes and sprints.

My friend got me into skateboarding and 5 days in and I slipped off my board after doing a tail turn on a ramp and fell on an outstretched arm with the elbow held tightly to brace my fall. My forearm bone drove into my elbow and caused a small fracture. It's swollen right now, the elbow area is in a "fat pad" state and my extension is limited.

Will I be able to lift again? My strength is so bad i cant click my fingers.

Leave the compound movements to a minimum to avoid a wide waist (Thick obliques and that stuff)

That's why you don't use clips on bench. Just make sure no ones too close and dump the weight.

What are the advantages of having a gym membership over buying a home gym? Home gyms seem to be a better long term investment.

so you have 1 reason to leave the house other than work and groceries
>>
>>42252959
you need a house. also this >>42252966, leaving you home is good
>>
>>42252959
As someone who has a homegym the main disadvantages are:
>lack of spotter for some lifts
>lack of certain equipment that could be beneficial (eg. reverse hyper, normal hyper, certain cable stuff and angles)
>lack of dumbbell selection, unless you have loads of room and money, so would have to go adjustable
>lack of social atmosphere and gym buds
>dead space for 90% of the time for your homegym
>if you plan on moving living place it can be v. inconvenient

Overall if you have the space and the initial capital (which pays for itself in like 1-2 years for decent equipment) I would heavily recommend it as all the problems are only mild inconveniences compared to being able to slam around weight, no waiting times, no travel time(a big one), own music, can fart, shower in house, try new things.

Lastly the cost effectiveness is pretty mild initially since you will inevitably buy more weight and other shit as you progress along but you get to keep all that stuff. But yeah its great, only genuine things i miss is the friendly banter and the spots.

The primal diet doesn't take into account that humans are still evolving. Notice how many Europeans can drink milk with no issue while other populations will be intolerant.

Also the "No grain" thing is bullshit. Grain has always been available.

Hey /fit/, how do I get my pecs to come closer together. I've been building a bit of mass and definition on them, but there is still a separation between them. I keep working chest so it is really frustrating for me.

I added about 30kg in 2 months to my bench on ss, but i also got fat.
>>
>>42252882
how does one avoid getting fat whilst bulking? I've been lifting for about a week, and I'd rather not fall for the powerlifting meme
>>
>>42252870
Read the book, it's good info.
Do the program, but not for too long.
A few months depending on where you start and how well you progress.
I'd say if you get to a point where you absolutely need more than 5 minutes of rest between sets, you should get off SS and do something else.
