Not even generic sweet iced tea? Not necessarily missing out but it is a unique flavor. A hot cup of tea goes well with a few desserts.

I have never had deep dish pizza.

I always find myself in really bizarre shit from where I started, but when I am fucked I go with it and listen loud.

Last night was Entombed Left Hand Path, never listen to metal normally but I like it.

Night before was a band called Reckless Kelly and the song was Crazy Eddies Last Hurrah, really good shit too. Again, would never normally listen to that.

God bless cheap whisky

I"ve been sober a year and a half and, while I"m much better looking now, nothing else has improved. I don't know what's wrong with me.

I really needed drinking to be the thing that was ruining my life and now I've discovered that it really wasn't the problem. Fuck.

Raspberry custard tart, chocolate dacquoise and cloverleaf rolls. My mom and other people have savory things covered, but they make me do most of the baking. I might do a pumpkin pie as well, but there isn't much demand for it

So I've been a pleb my whole life and only had the cup ramen before. I now have the packets and want to make a good damn meal out of it.

I plan on having a ramen egg with it and I've been told I should only use like half the flavor packet. What else should I do to make it nice and way better than it should be? I was going to throw some chopped peppers in it, too, but other than that.

Really, any veggies like broccoli, peppers, carrots, etc. works. Maybe a little bit of hot sauce for flavour.

So, I'm planning on brining a few turkey breasts for my Thanksgiving (alone) but I have a few questions.

- Is 1/4 C. table salt to 8 C. water an acceptable ratio for a standard brine?
- If I wanted to add sugar as well to my brine, would I use half the amount of sugar as I did salt? (such as above, using 1/4. C salt with 1/8 C. sugar).
- Is sugar even needed or beneficial?
- Is 3-4 hours an acceptable amount of time? I haven't bought the turkey breast yet, so I'm not sure how much they will weigh. I'm not going to be hunting for any particularly huge.
- Do I rinse off the brine before roasting?
- Do I still need to season with salt before roasting?
- Any personal suggestions for other additions to my brine?

Thank you /ck/.

Try brining with milk and bells seasoning that's how my pops does it and he makes the best turkey ive ever had never dry. The milk breaks the meat down a bit.
>>
>>8288542
That's not at all what I was asking but thanks, I guess.
>>
>>8288536
I would do a minumum of 1/2 cup of salt per 8 cups of water which is half gallon. I would also add 1/2 cup of brown sugar and if bone in turkey breast I would go a minimum of 8 hours. Add whatever spices you want.

Fuck. How come nobody told me Korean food was so good.

$12 for all this food which easily could have fed two people. Unlimited refills on the side dishes, and it would have only cost $8-9 if I'd come during lunch hours.

It was kimchi jjigae with pork, by the way.

got a bunch of these fuckers strutting around my backyard. I'm thinking about taking one out and dishing it up for Thanksgiving

I don't like them. The breast meat is okay, but you gotta cook it almost like beef. The legs are essentially worthless. If you can get away with grabbing one, go for it and try it out. Thats what I did.

If it's your first one gutting, defeathering and butchering, you will ruin your thanksgiving. It isn't as easy as pilgrim cartoons but after one or two it's not an issue. Shoot a practice one or two first.

How do you cook your rice and beans? Any tips for how I should improve?
>cook garlic and onions till soft
>add black beans to the pan and add some cumin, cayenne, salt and pepper, add chicken broth if some moisture is needed
>cook rice in water and coconut milk
>mix together when all cooked

I really like this recipe here and always recommend it when the topic of rice and beans or cheap, healthy food comes up:

http://www.grouprecipes.com/73215/arroz-de-tomate-e-feijao---rice-with-tomato-and-beans.html

I usually add some diced pork belly, too.
>>
>>8286819

for beans I like them meaty so I make a feijoada (brazilian dish). I usually get some pork shoulder or some beef shanks and just simmer them down with the beans with some beef stock, onions, and honestly whatever other veggies you want to include. Turns into a delicious sludge and I just ladle it over white rice.

it was salty and greasy, especially the vegetables, for some reason. Didn't like it.

Egg rolls and chow mein (rice dishes) were good fast food

Drier. No msg. Other than that about the same. Better hygiene standards.

I personally don't care for it. It's the McDonalds of Chinese take out. The sauces are cloying. Everything is too salty. Some people go ape shit for it though. Some think it's healthier but eating broccoli drenched in coca cola syrup doesn't make it a better option
