I just had mcDs for the first time in decades and I was wondering, is it odd to put the hashbrown inside the egg mcmuffin?

Brew thread!

Whatcha brewin' /ck/?
Not brewing anything? Whatcha drinkin' /ck/?

I need details! A vast majority of great beers around the world aren't available anywhere near me. Is it nicely rounded? Acerbic and piney? Does it pair well with dinner?

I just popped the top off of a spiced, red Christmas Saison - very close in colour to pic related.

The orange peel plays nicely with the little bit of Galaxy happening. The cinnamon and crystal malt blend incredibly with the peppery clove of the saison malt.

The only problem is that it's still a bit young - to be expected from this particular strain of Saison apparently. The worst part - the apply edge is actually quite refreshing, probably taking quite a bit off of the alcoholic edge of this carmine yuletide diesel fuel.

I've become a vegan cuck recently. I've lasted a month but I'd like to know if /ck/ has any interesting or uniquely /ck/ vegan recipes or foodstuffs. Also, any advice for new vegans.

for low calorie meals i make:

salsa from ingredients and red beans and black beans + corn

crumbled cauliflower and tofu scramble.

boil apples and cut around the core, blend in vitamix, add to cooked oats add cinnamon and artificial sugar. these three meals are low calorie and yummy.

french fries are always good... waffles with maple syrup... blend frozen bananas and frozen strawberries with almond milk for a milkshake (i add artificial sugar and could switch to soy milk if you don't mind the extra calories, real sugar if you really don't mind).. rice and beans is always an option, i got a bread machine and i make my own peanut butter from roasted peanuts.. i'm looking into making my own jelly. tortilla chips and guacamole.. bean burgers.. i'm always trying to improve my bean burgers. anyone share recipes?

Muh morality

I used to think most animals couldn't meaningfully suffer due to lack of preferences meaning. They couldn't have a preference against pain and view it as a negative. Changed my opinion now, so I think veganism is the only morally sound thing to do. I don't really have the intuition to care about animals. I still fucking hate the beasts, but I can't rationalise the suffering away anymore.

I'm in vacation in NYC (the US's Mecca for Mexican Food) and I bought some tacos, I must say I'm quite impressed!

I had Al Pastor, Bistec, Enchilada, and Suadero. My favorite was the Enchilada. The Suadero was interesting, it sort of reminded me of tuna.

I would like to get some more Mexican food while I'm here, any places/dishes in particular I should try?

Yea NY sure is the epicenter of mexican food in america. Then again I took a french buddy to tacos in LA and he thought the pickled carrots go on your taco.

I'm the anon that did weird things to his turkey last year. Well this year I've volunteered to make the turkey for my actual family Thanksgiving dinner (14 people), so this thread will cover what I do to my practice turkey. The turkey is currently thawing so I won't have any pics for you for a bit, but here's what I'm planning:

- Breasts. Just going to do what I did last year (pic related). Meat glue the breasts together and wrap in skin, then sous vide and deep fry.

- "Perfect" drumsticks. This part will be experimentation. Turkey legs are full of gross tendons, so for one leg I'm going to peel back the skin, remove the tendons with pliers, then roll the skin back up and secure it with meat glue. For the other leg I'm going to roll down the skin, remove all meat - leaving the bone clean, grind the meat with some white meat, bread crumbs, and spices, pack that back around the bone, and roll the skin back up, securing with meat glue. Then I'll sous vide and fry them. The goal here is to have the ideal cartoon-like drumstick.

- Thighs. Don't really have any plans for these yet, maybe just sous vide, batter, then deep fry? I was also just thinking of grinding them and making tacos with them, I'd have to figure something else out for actual family Thanksgiving though. Please offer your suggestions.

- Wings. Either throw them out or grind them. Or I could try to make them into giant buffalo wings. Please offer your suggestions here also.

Also, a question. I've heard of the benefits of brining. I'm not going to attempt it on this practice turkey because of timing, but would it be worthwhile for Thanksgiving? Also I have a marinade syringe arriving from amazon on Sunday, could I use this for a quick and dirty brine?

Do this. I've heard of it before. I think they call them Dinosaur Wings as a joke.

I'm doing turkey this year for my family as well. Going to debone the whole bird and stuff it with something. Haven't decided yet. Not as granular as your plan, but for the thighs maybe something similar to the breasts, give diners a dark and white meat option.

So if you ranked everything you could possibly do for your health on a list from absolute worst to least bad, drinking alcohol would be one of the entries on that list?
