Have you ever cooked some ragù alla bolognese?
Properly cooked home-made ragù alla bolognese is a great meal on its own.
It has a great mixture of meat, vegetables, and some herbs/spices.
It can be eaten with some spaghetti, tagliatelle, or lasagne, just as it can be eaten with a slice of bread, or even a bowl of rice.
If you've spent your entire life eating shitty store-bought canned "bolognese sauce", then I might be able to understand why you can't appreciate it as well as I do.

Doesn't look like a great meal to me

Don't like it? Don't think about it ;^)

Do you personally think you're a good chef?

No, I can't cook a variety of things.

I stick to pasta because pasta is fucking easy to make and relatively easy to customize. You can cook up some mushrooms and/or chicken, throw that and cooked pasta in a cream based sauce like alfredo, season it like hell, simmer it, and have a delicious meal with no skill or effort involved.

I am ok, not good but not bad either.

I'm a good home cook. Beyond a catering situation I've never commanded a kitchen brigade so I'd never call myself a chef.

I think I'm going to go to a huge vegan potluck in Los Angeles. That or go to a vegan restaurant like Native Foods Cafe or Doomies, but IDK if Doomies is doing that this year - they haven't advertised it. Would love to go to Doomies but I guess the potluck will do. Hopefully they're good cooks and I'm not stuck with something like lemon flavored quinoa and falafel.

I don't have anything going on. I just want it to be over so I can stop hearing it.

Anyone have experience with infusing alcohol?

When letting the ingredients soak, do I HAVE to have it in an airtight mason jar? Or will a big jug work fine?

that's why you seal it

I've been on a strict diet since June 2015,
>was 260 lbs
>currently 194.2 lbs
>limited myself to 1800 kcal a day, every time i go down 10 lbs i binge for a day then go back to 1800 until the next 10.
>I'm disabled and can't really exercise, that's why the kcal is so low.
>Instead of asking professionals i just googled how to diet.

Also i have a really bad craving at the moment, and I go on this board to look at food. Make me really hungry plz.

It's pretty good usually. Their steaks of course are their main attraction and I'd say 85% of the time they're great. However they usually get really busy at night and your steak may not be the best during that time. I've only had one bad meal there but it wasn't disasterous, the steak was just too overdone and the baked beans were kinda cold. I told the waiter and it was remade and taken off so that was nice. Overall it's a nice restaurant and I enjoy going there.

I get coupons for free appetizers with the purchase of an entree pretty regularly. Split one entree (preferably early dine price), order a plate of 8 potato skins for free, share a bunch of free bread, and you can fill 3 people for $9 or so.

How do I make the perfect grilled cheese sandwich? I have some whole grain bread, lots of provolone, and plenty of butter.

>>
Pick your fat. I've done it with butter, mayo and garlic confit. I liked the confit the best, mayo was great. Butter is a basic bitch.

Pick your bread. I like a simple, airy sourdough best.

Pick your cheese. I like Tillamook cheddar.

Spread your fat on the outside of your bread, put shredded cheese between the bread, put in a medium hot dry pan and allow to cook slowly until the bread is nicely browned. Flip and repeat. Cut crossways.
>>
>>8294192
Are you serious nigga?

put butter on bread
place buttered side down in pan
add cheese
add slice of buttered bread with butter up

cook untill brown, turn, cook untill brown, eat
>>
>>8294192
good white bread
old, sharp cheddar, grated
butter @ room temperature

assemble the sandwich, spread the butter on the outsides of the bread, just enough to cover the bread but without being skimpy.

put sandwich into a non-stick frying pan that is already at medium heat.. not medium-high... just medium, and it's key that you just wait for it to get all the way there.

the sandwich should sizzle when you set it down. Wait 1 minute, check for doneness, if insufficient, leave it another 20 seconds at a time until it looks like OP pic colour.
Flip, fry another 30 seconds.
sandwich should be done now

remove sandwich from pan to rest briefly on paper towel before slicing diagonally and consuming

these instructions can seem very specific, but if followed exactly, will produce the perfect grilled cheese.

What is your opinion on serving "punch" at parties? It seems very southerner or English to me and just overall very fun. Im thinking of doing "Artillery Punch" to give you guys an idea of what im talking about

I love it. We serve punch bowls at my bar, and it's a great way to serve large parties without having to constantly give them attention, and it also allows our bartenders to have some fun creative time, since they typically come up with new mixes every time.
