Post your kitchen fuckups. I just did this one
>rinse off cast iron pan
>pat dry, then put on stove on low heat to dry it thoroughly
>forgot it was on the stove
>smell burning
>suddenly remember the pan and run to the kitchen
>seasoning is burned off and flakes away at a slight touch
FUCK. Now I have to completely reseason it.
>>8280273
That wouldn't happen on low heat shitbird, checkm8
I completely reseason my cast iron every time I use it. Fucking savage.
Who's that character? I remember him...
I'm down to my last 100€, it's 4.00 in the morning
Im hungry as fuck
It's up to you /ck/
cook a pasta al tonno (I already have all the ingredients), or order kebab online
Anything up to 10€ will do, which in my country will most likely include any kind of kebab, from iskender to doner, possibly even gyros. Pizza is also an option, but muslims are horrible at making pizza so fuck that
OR
I do a shit ton of effort an cook pasta al tonno
I think you already know what I want
I just want you to tell me what's the smartest thing to do
Do what I do - ponder over it for three more hours and then fall asleep.
Try fasting. It's good to go without food sometimes.
Join Islam and ask the mosque for food
Dinner, /ck/, you?
whats in the potato?

We missed you, anon
dats some sexy arugala
Good bang-for-your buck foods that are easy to prepare?
I don't have a lot of storage space, so no "beans and rice in bulk" or "freeze a bunch of whatever is on special" stuff. I also really only have a microwave and stovetop available to me.
I'm already thinking things like pastas, hot dogs, eggs... looking for outside of the box ideas that are consistently priced. I'm not dirt poor, but looking to save where I can.
eggs and milk.
>>8279997
You can buy rice 5 lbs at a time very easily and still get it for pretty cheap, 5 lbs russet potatoes are also just as cheap. The go-to cheap protein option is chicken thigh/quarters, normally I bake them, but if you lack an oven, I recommend making soup with them.
>>8280057
Like I was saying in the OP, I don't have a lot of storage space, so 5 lb bags of stuff in bulk isn't an option, I also can't store a ton of chicken thighs/quarters, unless you're recommending individual smaller packages...
How good is kobe beef actually? I've heard it's great but can it be that much better than regular steak? I've only had it once but it was in a bowl of pho, it tasted better than a regular bowl of pho but it wasn't like, noticeably fucking amazing or anything.
>>8279892
Why would someone put kobe beef into a soup? You got jewed.
I've never had kobe beef. However, I have noticed that marbled ribeyes usually taste very nice. Therefore, since the marbling on those steaks in the photo is so insane I could only assume that they are indeed extremely delicious.
I also am curious to hear from someone who has experienced kobe. I like those youtube videos of the Japanese chefs cooking it on a hibachi grill.

It was like a dollar more than the usual bowl of pho, I figured why not.
>Uses peanut shavings rather than peanuts
>Uses fewer peanuts
>Uses less caramel
>Snicker size got smaller
>King size now broken in two fun sized bars
>Actual fun sized bars about half their size
You guys are not complimenting snickers of modern era but the snickers you grew up with. It's a different ballgame now that's for sure.
>>8279781
fuck outta here with your junk food this is a food and cooking board
>>8279783
Snickers bars are a common staple food in cultures all throughout the Western world.
>>8279787
Unless you're referring to the US and it's subcultures, no one has snickers as staple food. Not even the British.
it's probably the most fattening and greasiest pizza in the country. but goddamn little caesars deepdish is fucking amazing.

>Amazing
More like edible. It's ok for a Detroit Style, but not even in the same league as Jets or Buddys.
Trying to conceptualize dinner tonight.
Using the 6lb pork shoulder (pic related) I already made for tacos the night before last.
Used this recipie scaled up:
http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/food-network-kitchens/slow-cooker-pork-tacos-recipe.html
+rubbed with paprika
I want to make a pork filled pastry using crescent roll pastry sheets (pic will follow).
I have:
>pork shoulder, afore mentioned
>black beans
>green chiles
>Chipotle in adobo
>a large onion
>garlic cloves
>various powdered and dried peppers
>oils, a variety
>butter
I'm two (2) blocks from the grocery store and can quickly get whatever I need.
I was considering
>softening up chopped onions and a touch of jalapeno
>adding a few chipotles, a can of black beans, about 1lb pork shoulder, a little cayenne
>simmer with remaining adobe
>mash up
>fold in to pastry
>brush with melted butter
>bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes
Thoughts?
Advice?
Feel free to call me a retard.
I am currently researching.

They don't look the best anon. Keep working at it though :)
>>8279510
they look rubbery
try adding more cream or cooking a little less
Take them off before they look done next time, as they'll keep cooking after you turn off the heat.
so Cuck-o Bell finally has a new logo to reflect on the quality of their food. About time they finally realized they're both equally shit.

>white college student
>just got a job as a native english cashier at what looks to be the best chinese restaurant in my town and maybe a town over
>i get free food for myself and 50% off for friends and family
>im repulsed by chinese food
I really want to acquire a taste for Chinese food, /ck/. It feels dumb to just not take advantage of the situation, and it's pretty reasonably priced shit to fall back on thrice a week once I board somewhere. How do I do it? Any dishes that could build up my tolerance for God knows what's in it?
What sort of Chinese food is this?
Is it "Chinese food" or actual Chinese food?
Also, it's generally unhealthy to eat out a lot, although I'm sure there are healthier options at the restaurant as well. Just something to keep in mind.
>>8279129
What do you not like?
>>8279153
It's in Queens NY, pretty much a safe haven for Chinese food considering all the other boroughs have shitty Asian cuisine from what I hear. So from that I can only assume it's as "authentic" as you could get for American-based Chinese food. And yeah it's probably unhealthy to eat out a lot but its going to be somewhat inevitable considering mommy can't pay for my food half the time come the next college transfer. Maybe I'll just be like a monk and buy a giant bag of rice for like $3 come then.
>>8279165
I'm primarily put off by shrimp, but just the idea of Chinese food having all this extra crap in it that I'm not even aware of on the menu, and the texture of it always set me off. The most I ever ate was """french fries""" from some other place and a roast pork egg roll.
>tfw you eat sautéed spinach, boiled broccoli, and a baked potato
Feels healthy man
>boiled broccoli
Enjoy your loss of 90% of nutrients.
give me massive gas
Amerifats will tell you that potatoes are unhealthy and that you should be eating chicken instead.
But yeah, you could cook your entire meal in the microwave to retain much more nutrients, as well as saving time, money and effort.
