I know this guy, he's very friendly to everyone he knows, but a bit reserved. Whenever I say goodbye to him, I hug him (which is a custom in my group of friends) and he kisses me on the cheek. I've gone through numerous background checks and this has never happened before.
They're making me go to the courthouse, when I should be working, unpaid to get paperwork showing my case was dismissed.
I have a letter from my lawyer that says the case was dismissed. I don't want to miss work, but I also don't want to lose my job or look suspicious.
Should I print the letter from my lawyer and get the document from court? One or the other?
Why hasn't this come up before?
I thought about having the record expunged a few years ago, but it cost too much. The lawyer offered to have it expunged a couple months after the trial, but it was $500. I was a poor college kid.
What should I do?

I turned him down because the expungement process doesn't require a lawyer. It's possible to do, but that's not the point.
I don't want to lose an hour and a half of work, but, at the same time, I want to keep my job. I feel like I acted suspicious, but I was more startled and concerned.

For one thing, they probably misinterpreted it as a conviction when it most likely read as charges dismissed.
Criminal background check shouldn't have had that by now, if a case was dismissed after 3 years all records of it should've been purged. At least, in my country that's the case.
So may be it was a clerical error. But it depends on what type of criminal record check they did.
You may have done a bunch of common record checks, but there is another one for vulnerable sector record checks which shows nearly everything from arrests, convictions, dismissals, etc.

Be more logical, getting mad doesn't do anything. Communication works wonders. Also your teacher probably held you accountable for the failure because you are the one who presented the information. If you have the option, give a brief introduction to what was looked up to politely throw the lazy pos under the bus, or present information individually. Don't say anything relating to quality, if you introduce just who did what. That's how I would handle it at least.

Probably, but thats probably just because if I were really busy I'd be a little irritated to deal with people when I was expecting to.
Its a good thought but you risk it coming off as a little clingy. You'd be better off just kind of playing off something like "Hey, I'm in the neighborhood grabbing food would you like something?"
It would give you a chance to see her, a chance to do something sweet and not spring anything on her while she's trying to cram for school.

at least thats how it worked for me. my dad needed to 'take a break' from having kids and a wife so he left us for a year. claimed it was because of wokr, never told us the truth, assumes we don't know.
Why do people, especially women, claim that assertiveness is an attractive trait -- especially in men? But when you actually are more assertive, suddenly you're stalkery creep?
This is also a pattern I've noticed in the female gender. They claim to want something in men they feel they don't get enough of. But once they actually find that something, they're suddenly repulsed by it. It's like they don't even understand themselves.
