Hey, /cgl/: NGL, but i've been living under a damn rock btw work and grad school. a friend recommended that i watch Cosplay Melee during the summer (not) break but i wanted to get some feedback. Is it worth the watch or is it that World of Cosplay, staged mess again? I do like Yvette Nicole Brown though...
Honest thoughts? It was okay. Def. nothing like H.O.C, its more like project runaway with them creating Original character base off a genre. Its really easy to tell whose going to win base on the cosplayer past cosplay and the theme. Although final episode is raging because of a spoiler I'm not going to spill if you still plan on watching the show.

Thank you! I'll watch like two episodes and see if I like it!
Honestly I think it's inferior to HoC.
Worth a watch, but not too cosplay-y

So MCM was a shambles.
Anybody going to any good local cons?
Try to keep AL Drama to a minimum, Just because MT/Mewski/AL staff are lurking /cgl/ doesn't mean you should engage them.
repost..
is it just me or are uk cons less wild and pickupy than american ones?
towers pedo ring and kitacon aside
>>9523100
Anyone at Qcon this weekend?
>>9523150
Idk, from what I've heard, MCM is a wreck after 7pm. I don't know about any other UK cons actually.

Yeticon's next week, then ConBravo, then Otakuthon, then FanExpo
What else is going on and who's going to what?
I'm doing YetiCon, ConBravo, and maybe Otakuthon if I can find a hotel
I dunno what happens on the West coast or in the Maritimes, so update shit and whatever anons
Going to Yeticon, Conbravo and otakuthon. Not doing fanexpo just going to the park around the area. Animaritimes is sometime in July I think. Halcon is in the fall late October or November. Both are a joke.
Doing ConBravo, CosplayMatsuri and unsure about FanExpo, prob just doing the same as >>9511118 and taking advantage of photog bookings etc in the park and nearby area
>>9511118
Animaritime is at the end of this month which I'm hitting a full weekend of. I've never been before and gf hasn't been in years. Please let it be chill.
I'll be checking out Fundy Fanfest which I guess is new? I'm just going for Saturday to see if it blows or not. $30 for a one day badge and $220 for a vendor's table seems disasterous but it's in the province so why not. I'll report back if anyone would be interested.
I will definitely be going to Hal-con in late September. I just moved to the maritime so I'm not sure what to expect.
>Both are a joke
I can understand Animaritime considering they don't have recorded info/attendance numbers and for going on for years it seems at best questionable. Unsure about Hal-con though, please explain?
Military Gear Cosplay General /mgc/
This thread is to talk about cosplays involving Gear, to help each other with identification and to improve on ourselves. Please keep strictly military topics to /k/ or strictly airsoft topics to /asp/.
Metal Gear, STALKER, Resident Evil Fan? Or something comepletely different? Feel free to check out this thread.

Feel free to submit new shops, to improve the experience. I will then update the pastebin.
>Do you work on any gear related cosplays at the moment?
>Do you cosplay stuff other than gear?
>What is your opinion about many Cons making stricter rules relating fake weaponry?
starting on my mute cosplay, and started machining a few bits for my mates fuze cosplay
>Work on anything?
Tachanka is still a WIP, but I'm getting closer and closer!
>Anything other?
I want to, really, but I don't feel like I have what it takes. I'd have to learn a lot of new stuff. Venom Snake was the first bit, but anything more feels well out of my comfort zone.
>Strict rules
I can understand it in these times, but some things just are too far, imo.
I'm waiting for the pictures from Dokomi to arrive. I think we found a pretty cool location
This just in: Vest for Tachanka! Also any other Russian in the Game!
Has anyone here ever done a R6 Siege cosplay?
Zelda cosplay thread. All Zelda games welcome.
I want to see a finished Paya.
Confusion just announced that there will be no con this year, as did Donkeycon a while back and it seems like Kultcon have died. Does it just mean that Närcon will become our supreme ruler once and for all?
>>9347730
Kultcon was shit anyway.
Here are some solid, small cons confirmed for 2017 for your pleasure:
Kodachicon
Storcon
Fairycon
Picacon
Come to Norway!
Banzaicon had tickets to spare last year, and sleeping halls makes it so you don't need to buy hotel
So after walking around AX I finally got the cosplay bug, and I've decided to go for the Chinese engineer from BF4.
Can you guys recommend me some sites to buy some or most of the stuff needed? I'm a noob when it comes to rigs, holsters, and clothing. I've managed to find the Chinese gas mask on ebay and some inert flash bangs on etsy but that's as far as I've gotten. Money isn't totally an issue but I dunno if I'd be fine with buying $200 pants, and I can do some small DIY work

Too lazy to format the link, its the first result if you type in flash bang on etsy

...yeah
It's my first visit to /cgl/, and I'm looking for tutorials and advices for replica gas masks. I want to make a replica gas masks for my reproduction WW2 collection.
Only tutorials I have found are for plastic masks that cover mouth or first graders Halloween costume tier.
I like to leave original items to the serious collectors who have big glass cabinets for them.
This question is best asked here >>9535927
>>9549517
Gotta go to ask there then.
Delete thread button doesn't work for some reason.
>>9549513
It be probably cheaper to buy a used one than make your own. Authenticity factor helps in cosplay.
That being said, should you decide to forgo the replica, please ask /k/ as they have lists of easy to get gas masks, pricing and health hazard advice
Time to let it go gulls

I couldn't find that Japanese Goth essay anymore except these quotes:
>For some reason, it resists classification. Certainly, there are some very general commonalities with the look of Rococo royalty, such as expansive skirts or the abundant use of frill. But Gothic Lolita has many other defining qualities beyond these. Furthermore, the individuals that practice Gothic Lolita have lost their bearings with the music, paintings, and literature they love. While they may like cute kids’ things and old-style classical music, they love grotesque, misshapen monsters, are devoted to Georges Bataille’s academicism, and are mad about violent rock. So, along with our bizarre sense of style and an apparent conflict in taste, we are always thought of as freaks by society.
>Let’s say punk rock was described to you as ‘three chords of rock music played roughly.’ Would that be sufficient? If you looked up surrealism in the dictionary and it was described as a style of art that uses unrealistic depiction, would you understand? In Japan, even now, people ask me ‘What is Gothic Lolita fashion?’ I tell them I don’t know.
>In other words, establishing what defines Gothic Lolita is not up to any one person; it is up to the practitioner.

Anyone down to meetup at one of the LL meetups at AX? That dance gathering/festival one sounds the cringiest so we can get a few laughs out of that.
Would anyone be interested in a dump of some more noteworthy "idol" instas?

yes! please!
Lil bit of water couldve smoothed all that out.....
