It restocked on AP's Japanese webshop last week. I thought this print went on sale last year, I'm not sure that they made more of it, maybe they simply found a box of extra sitting in a basement somewhere and tossed a few to AP USA to sell.

This, sounds like a shitshow waiting to happen. Can't wait to see the photos of the garbage food and snacks that give you the shits, and the poorly lit "professional" coord shots. At least the fashion show might be okay since you'll have to pay way too much for an event like this. The downside is that you're stuck using whatever shitty vendors the cruise line uses, for every aspect

Hoe do you guys build costumes that are like armor? I know there's pepakura, eva foam, and now 3d printing, but there's almost no blueprints or templates for anything other than iron man and Halo suits. I hate how many are comically oversized and just look goofy. Have any of you guys done stuff like that?

Short answer: it's hard.
It's a ton of work, a ton of trial and error, spending hours trying to make patterns that work and having to trash pieces that just won't turn out right.
For most armor foam is the way to go. 3D printed stuff sounds awesome in theory because it sounds easy, but it takes tons of post work to get rid of print lines and seams to make look nice and is fairly fragile. It works best for props, helmets, and detail pieces.
YouTube is a treasure trove of tutorials and how to's on making armor.

So I wanted to try working with a manufacture again so I submitted an inquiry to Vograce for rubber charms. Decided to order a sample since I didn't want to screw up and end up with 50-100 messed up charms.
The sample was around $50 for the mold,shipping and then I was charged a PayPal fee. Vicky asked me if I wanted to confirm the design before they made the mold. I said sure.
Received the photo and there are two issues. I asked if I could submit a revision and she tells me they already created the mold (why even ask me to confirm if you're just going to do it anyways). The sample had the two errors from before, but. Ow with an addition two errors that were not part of my design or the orinigal mock up they sent me.
I could have possibly lived with the two mistakes since they were bad bad and I could have probably fixed one myself, but they filled in half of my design's face with the outline color..
Good thing I'm ordering early I guess....

Got into a weird fight with some friends over this on FB. None of them have been to anything bigger than a college con so I don't think they really get the culture and vibe if a large con. They insisted that hanging out at a con, even if you're not trying to sneak into events, is stealing. They even claimed that trading off badges is fine because only one person can use them at a time. Didn't have the heart to tell them people sneak badges out for multiple uses.
