Why do ya'll hate Outdoor cats? I have an indoor cat by the way.
I can definitely see the reasons for hating outdoor cats, personally i think it's fucking stupid to have an outdoor cat. It puts the cats in so much danger.
No other pet owner free roams their animal alone with the deliberate expectation that it will hunt by itself to gain some % of its nutritional value. It doesn't happen! Only outdoorcatfags do this.
And their only justification is sheer laziness. The people really shouldn't be owning animals at all. They're not going to foot the vet bill when the cat inevitably gets worms, or gets into a big enough fight with a bigger cat/the local dog, or gets its leg run over by the automobile. They leave it to die. I knew outdoorcatfags who would shoot air pellets at their cat for funsies.
>bwah anon y wud u ever care about anything anywai? just let me express my psychopathic tendencies in peace!!!!
Honestly, I see them all as subhuman these days. It's hard to imagine these "people" as the same species as me. Maybe a nudge below Neanderthalensis.

"Outdoor cats are a source of ecological risk – defined as hazards, natural, or human made, that threaten the health and productivity of individual species, communities, environmental processes, and the ecosystem (Barnthouse & Suter 1986; McDaniels et al. 1997). Cats have been described in the environmental literature as a source of ecological risk because they kill native fauna (e.g., Lepczyk et al. 2004; van Heezik et al. 2010; Loss et al. 2013); contribute to the reduction of mammal abundance (e.g., Risbey et al. 2000); cause the extirpation of insular species (Medina et al. 2011); and carry zoonotic diseases such as toxoplasmosis (Toxoplasma gondii), which has been linked to infection and death in marine mammals (e.g., Honnold et al. 2005; Miller et al. 2008). Moreover, cats are associated with behaviors such as defecating in gardens, spraying on private property, and making loud noises (Brown et al 1978; Dabritz et al. 2006) that can increase public annoyance and reduce tolerance for these animals. "
Outdoor cats only seem to be a problem in the US. I live in the UK and indoor cats aren't really a thing, yet we have no stray cat epidemic like large US cities.

I have some pesky trees next to my house that i am not allowed to take down. So i got some advice about having them die....
1. drill a hole just under the ground in the trunk
2. inject hole with round-up
3. wait
4. dead tree
Does anyone know how much, how often i should inject this tree?
What's so pesky about the tree
1. It blocks out any sun i could get in my garden
2. It has rubbish falling from it whole year long (leaves in autumn, sticky crappy crap in spring)
3. makes my house green and cold
>>2391079
Drill hole in roots.
Inject gasoline.
Problem solved.

How do I exterminate all feline life from this land such that cats elsewhere will recognize the stench of death and know never to return?
>>2387769
Supposedly drying out a fuckton of orange peels, crushing them decently and sprinkling them all over your yard keeps some animals away. Lemon too. All animals fucking hate citrus.
>>2387769
High powered air rifle. Live traps. A large container of water to throw the trap into when full.
Bunnies are a great pest, thank the benevolent feline by feeding it.

Heard Ravens/crows are really smart. Anyone have stories/info?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bXQAgzfwuNQ
I feed my backyard crows. I've seen them mimicry a lot around the neighborhood, fire engines, car alarms, one made the mating calls of a squirrel at me and it took me several minutes standing around stupidly staring at the fence trying to figure out what it was trying to emulate. They're good birds, they don't poop on me or my car. Haven't seen much "intelligence" stuff other than their sheer numbers: they clearly dominate the local ecosystem. Have seen the occasional roadkill. I've had to put the brakes on for foraging crows before myself so it's foreseeable that accidents can happen...
I like other corvids too, there's a western scrub jay family in the backyard trees. I feed them both hard boiled eggs mealworms and suet with the occasional calcium source added. Calcium is very good for the wild birds, they need it the most. Oyster shell or eggshell powder can provide.

Ravens like it when you nearly touch eyes with them and rub the coarse feathers on their beak.
Who was in the wrong here?
DINDU NUFFIN
The parents/adults should have removed the kid from the area after it lunged the first time.

Wait, that was a second lunge? In that case this was simply Darwinism

What does /plant/ know about mugwort?
A family friend grows and sells a myriad of different plants and mugwort took over a few of her beds.
After learning a bit about its calming nature, I've decided to bring home a bundle to dry in my window. Gonna try and use it to help my brother quit smoking cigarettes.
Any interesting fun facts on mugwort?
Can anyone help me identify this plant?
How bad are aliexpress seeds? The picture shown is a ginkgo but they claim to be selling ulmus parvifolia.
There's a Rottweiler in my neighbourhood that always growls and jumps up against / half over the fence when I pass on my bike.
Unfortunately because of the layout of the neighbourhood (pic) I can't take a different route. My bicycle is parked in my backyard, and the narrow path leading out to the street passes right past this dogs front yard forcing me to be within 1 meter of this fence.
One day this piece of shit dog will manage clear the fence or latch on to me while I pass.
Anyone have some good advice on avoiding this dog, or fighting it off in the worst case?

This is my cat
He keeps getting these injuries on his face and I don't know why. He doesn't get into fights with other cats or wild animals since he stays indoors so I don't where or how he is getting it. The only think I can guess is that he is injuring himself somehow when scratching himself but we usually keep his claws pretty trim.
What could it be?
>>2391298
Are you hitting him after a rough day at work and a few drinks?
You can be honest with me. I'm not the police*.
looks like you have a bad case of shitty cat
>>2391298
My cat will lose fur around her jowls like your cat, due to her rubbing her face aggressively against a corner of any furniture, but it wont make her bleed like that.
I want to dump a junk car into a fish pond as decoration and fish shelter.
How do I make the car safe for that?
>>2390907
Remove the engine, gas tank, breaks, fuel line, break lines, all electronics, all carpeting, tires, and continue until there's nothing but metal and glass left. No rubber or anything, just glass and metal. Then scrub off all parts until there's no dirt, oil, road salts, etc.
Basically, it is a shit load of work.
>>2390907
just drive it in the lake honestly my familiaiaia. Whats the worst thing that's gonna happen?

If it's a huge lake or ocean it probably wouldn't do as much harm but it's still not good.

Depends what kind of dog you think will suit you best, something lazy that will sit with you while you play vidya, or something more acitve you can go on hikes with?
I have a Shepweiler puppy that's 5 months old (already over 50 pounds). He's a typical puppy in all categories but he's having a hard time staying in the crate. He's out all day but then I go to bed I wanna lock him up so he won't eat my couch lol he seems deathly afraid of the kennel to the point where he gets so upset he'll throw up. My previous dogs haven't ever had a problem this big about being crated at night. Any ideas? Thanks
>>2390353
Train throughout the day.
Do "kennel" commands, then let him right out, and reward. Then start adding some time until you let him out, then reward. Slowly build up time over time. Meanwhile, get a few kongs, put peanut butter in them, and toss them in the kennel and let him go to town and close the door. Let him out when he's done.
Any time he gets tired and sleepy, put him in the kennel to sleep.
The bottom line is to just condition him to view the kennel as a place that is his, and pleasant, and soon enough, he'll adopt it as his own.
>>2390353
>Shepweiler
fuck off with your designer "breeds" just call it a mutt (or rottie+GSD mix), because that's what it is
I don't have anything against mutts (have one myself) but I hate when some people think that purposefully created mutts are "special breeds"..
also, why do americans like kennels so much?
Here in europe pretty much noone does it?
what's the exact purpose of it?
And what are the advantages
>>2390453
It's supposed to give the dog a safe place where it can go and expect to be left alone or reassure itself, if it wants.
But you know Americans, it never works out that way, they're too dumb to train dogs properly.
