I'm joining the air force soon and I've been wanting a bitch for years.
I'm in love with snow dogs and I'm interested in adopting a Pomsky (or even a malamute, but this might not work out)
After I've finished training I'll be given housing and I'll be allowed to own pets with some limitations.
I'm just wondering if anyone here is serving and owns any pets. Does this sound like a bad idea? Is there anything I need to be aware of?
I've wanted a bitch for a long time and was never in a position to own one as I grew up in a predominantly cat household.
I guess I'm just asking if owning this breed of dog will be inappropriate while I serve in the air force?

>"pomsky" little mix shit
>or Giant ass Malamute
Both have extremely different needs from nutrition to exercise. Owning any dog of breed while serving is inappropriate. I say this as I come from a military family, the only situation where this is acceptable is when you have a wife and children (6yr+) who can be responsible for the animal. I live near a military base and a good 70% of the dogs listed on craigslist are from military people who cannot adequately care for their dog. Those who do not opt to sell their dogs often times spend a ton of money locking them in a kennel with strangers for months on end. Save the dog for when you retire.

Pomskies are designer mutts. I would be wary of ANYONE selling a pomsky. The majority of pictures online I have seen are confirmed for not being pom/husky mixes. They do not have a set standard, they vary a lot in both appearance and temperament, and breeders have proven they don't give a flying fuck about the dogs they breed so it is unlikely they will ever be a set standard for this dog. The pom/husky mixes I have personally seen (you really can't assume they will look like pics from the internet because of how hard they are shilled) all look like generic medium to large shepherd mixes.

Hey /an/
Just got a Boxer puppy
Toughts on the breed?
Anyone with experience of boxers?
pic not related, just a random boxer
I personally love this breed I have 4 of them myself.
They are great dogs but i recommend start traning early cause they are very active energetic dogs but have great personalities.
Also be careful of white boxers because they usually have all the bad genes and can be aggressive, but other than that they are a great breed in General
>>2382167
White boxers are also more likely to be deaf.
>>2382162
Active, goofy, perpetual puppies.
It's a shame that they are basically cancer factories.
Just arriving back home from a small kickback and I see this little shit on my fucking chair, it must transferring fleas and shit on it. What do?

bring it to some shelter and some niggers will ruin its life trying to breed it 24/7 because they will think it's a legit siamese

American fantails are qt as fuck pleb. They constantly have to peak their heads up above their fat chest in order to see in front of them. It's adorable.

Your dog is a fine specimen of the canis familiarus species. No doubt she/he protects avidly protects your family from theives and ne'er-do-wells; the first to spring into action at the threat of danger no doubt. Also he/she looks to function as a fine doorstop and tripping hazard when not engaged in acts of bravery and good-doggery.

I know Orijen is often held as the top-tier gold standard of pet food. What is its wet food equivalent?
why does their cat food not have taurine added? is every ounce of meat going into it raw? it doesn't say it is.
>>2381490
Wouldn't the canned version be the canned equivalent of Orijen?
Also how bad is it to feed a cat dry food in the morning and wet food at night? I have 2 cats that I was feeding canned food only, but they were eating 2 cans a day and may need more. So I started cutting it with dry food, but the whole reason I got them on canned in the first place is because I didn't want them eating dry food for health things.

Orijen wet.
Loved Orijen but my dogs digestive systems didn't.
Tried for nearly a year but it was farts and liquid shit galore.
Given my one dog has ibs I thought he'd really benefit but he didn't. They get Good Natured (cheap holistic) w/ raw supplement. Usually some liver and ground beef or chicken. My parents still sadly live by Blue Buffalo and that's all they feed their dog and can't find out why it's pink as hell and always bloated.
The girl I'm seeing shares a house with a young couple who just had a baby. They've gone away this weekend and the place is a lot closer to her work so I've been hanging out there a bit. They have this dog which is a sandy coloured mutt, some kind of pitt bull cross.
He's a lovely dog but makes me sad. He's very skinny - you can clearly see his ribs and his collar (which apparently used to fit him properly) is very loose on him. They never take him for walks and as a result he's super excitable and their yard is full of holes from him digging.
The mum looks after the baby all the time and is also recovering from a c-sec so can't look after the dog in case he jumps up and re-opens the wound, and the dad is apparently too busy to walk him. My girl has her own dog (which she looks after properly) and the other one is too excitable for her to be able to walk both at once.
When the family went away for the weekend they left their dog in the yard and asked my girl to just feed him once a day (and they barely left enough food so she's been giving him her dogs food). They know she can't walk both dogs. We took both of them for a walk today (the first one their dog has been on in weeks apparently)
Should I report them to the rspca? I've met them a few times and they seem nice but they're really not looking after him which breaks my heart because he's a sweet dog. They also have 2 cats (which seem ok) and a beautiful parrot that just sits in a cage all day squawking.

Yes
Hey guys, I was out walking and saw a little baby bird sitting on the sidewalk. I walked away because I heard you're supposed to just let baby birds be and their parents will come help them, but now one hour later he's still there. It's getting dark and the neighborhood cats will go out soon, should I just wait some more or try to do something?
>>2381099
is there a nest above or nearby?
>>2381105
Not that I can see, at least not on the tree he's next to. There's another tree on the other side of the street that seems to have at least 3 bird couples, but I don't think he could've fallen from there and ended up where he is now.
Sun is almost down, pretty sure cats are already on the prowl. Should I just put him on the tree he's close to and hope the cats don't get him?
So today I was getting rid of an order of sand that was in my driveway. It had been there for ~week, maybe more. As I was shoveling, this big ass egg falls in my shovel! I have no idea what it is, maybe someone can help.
I live in Missouri, and the sand came from missouri, not from bags. I don't know if the egg was laid there or back where the sand originally came from. I intend to hatch it. Tips? Maybe it's already dead? I have it buried in a tub of sand, assuing that where it should be.
Jesus my fingers look so long. I promise it was distortion from the camera.
looks like a turkey egg

Gday /an/
So my cat made friends with a wild mouse today. They pal around then have a nap - it's pretty fucking adorable really.
Can she get sick from that? Just had her 2nd round of vaccines, she's 14 months old..

Keep us updated, OP. I'm sure this is going to end well for all parties involved.

I've heard the they're stupid so you need to make sure there's no way for them to injure themselves in their field, but they're also less likely to try and escape than a goat is.

Wait until they're 8 weeks old, then strangle them individually and leave their bodies with your slut cat. That'll teach her to be a slut
>>2379337
that's because the 'exotic' breed cats tend to be exotic due to recessive genes. Long coats, specific colors and patterns, odd traits, usually all recessive
