Bit of an odd question, but do we know how much variation exists in forge world colouring?

The major forge worlds have their own colours, but what about minor ones? Do they just stick with the colours of their founders until they're big enough?

Also, as a concept how is 'Minor forge world specialising in cogitators and machine spirits, ruler wants to build a new Temple of All Knowledge, is basically one giant shitty Wikipedia reference'?

Typically colouration is a 'cultural' thing amongst the Mechanicus, and as such each Forge World is hypothetically more prone to incorporating its own colours as time goes on, though they likely retain close bonds to their founders for the longest time.

As for computer science Forge World, sure, make sure they have a really high number of Rune Priests and are respected for their ability to emphatically connect with machinery and it sounds like a decent enough premise. Oh, I would also suggest considering the 'specialisations' of the Forge World's priests themselves, from a high number of Logis to an equally high number of more traditional ritual-priests.

>ruler wants to build a new Temple of All Knowledge, is basically one giant shitty Wikipedia reference'?
Doesn't Mars already have something like that?

Also I'd be extremely surprised if minor Forge Worlds didn't have their own colors given how much 40k is about YOUR DUDES.
>>

as its GW i guess you are free to make up what you want.

As for reference, this is somewhat a gol of every FW, but you can specialise in that. Juts keep in mind Admech is not really into this sharing knowledge idea. Yes even among forgeworlds.

Let's talk about character flaws. Are there any you really like to give your characters? Some that are your stable go-to, perhaps?
Something like astigmatism, flatulence, high blood pressure, a lisp, nervous tics, et cetera.

I recently made a paladin who had a chronic weak bladder. Every hour or so of in-game time he absolutely had to drop everything he was doing and find somewhere to relieve himself. Didn't go into detail, just said something like, "My character breaks off from chasing the thief and heads towards the nearest alley". Eventually it started getting on the nerves of one of the other guys in the group, and he told me that he thought I had chosen a character flaw/weakness that was far too severe. I'm not sure if I agree, my grandfather lives like that every single day, so it's not like it's a totally unrealistic or debilitating flaw, is it?

One of my characters used to get scared when people touched him, because he was abused as a child and never got over it. Made for some really interesting combat, in that i made him make a will save against each touch attack to be incrementally frightened due to his PTSD. Party didn't like it, but they always make flawless herogod characters anyway so fuck 'em
>>
>>50002988
Nope, I just thought it'd be interesting because I have never seen anyone had a flaw like that before.
In fact, many people seem to think that a character flaw is "badass scars everywhere and blind on one eye which looks cool as fuck and is never a problem."

>Spells are based on learning a vocabulary of words that you strin together in order to castlike (element)+(range)+(power)+(degree)+(effects)

>White magic is classic "heal" and "cure" spells and you can choose to follow one of several gods, each one changing/augmenting your standard white magic spells depending on your closeness to that god.

>Magic is completely OP but 90% of the spell-casting experience is going around collecting materials and waiting for solar eclipses or some other specific bullshit.

Too bad modern RPGs aren't as creative anymore.

I like Wheel of Time magic/channeling system, where 1% of population may have a trait that allows them to access either female or male half of True Source (yes, only two genders!)

Most are weak at it, but the stronger you are, the more your lifespans extends, ranging from 150 years up to 800 years if maximum strength.
Males cannot see females weave Saidar, and women cannot see men weave Saidin. (two halfs of the true source)

There is a risk of drawing too much power, which results either in burning out and losing the ability altogether, or even worse and having your body become a pyre of power as your entire being burns out, not just the trait.

Men can sense women channel, their skin turns to goosepumps, women cannot sense men similarly. Cats love women channelers and stay away from men channelers, meanwhile dogs feel comfy around men channelers and feel agitated around women channelers.

And in the setting of the book series, all men who channel turn mad because the source of Saidin has been tainted by Evil Dude/Dark One, resulting in them losing sanity over time, bodies decomposing whilst yet living and slowly becoming explosive atom heads that destroy their surroundings when they finally reach final stage before death. (which during ancient times, after the initial Tainting resulted in millions of men channelers breaking and trashing the world apart as they fell over centuries of societal destruction and decay)
as a result women channelers, Aes Sedai use their power to hunt down all men channelers, because they want to prevent more men from becoming destructive weapons that shatter villages or wipe out thousands of people before dying to madness.

So, the result is a world with very matriarchal structures where women hold a lot of power and the most powerful kings of men are careful when it comes to treading around Aes Sedai, (who however spend most of their time fighting/plotting amongst themselves because women)

Wouldn't they have to heal the body first?

If you shove the previous spirit into the right body, they might have tons of wounds still open?

Or are the spirits kept in place merely by the will of the necromancer? Surely that's no way to live.

I'm thinking of trying to depict a vampire [one of many [many in the sense of a 100 worldwide]] in a more "Neutral" light.
I'm thinking of presenting 'Her' as a sort of 'Shepard' to a human city, a rich, shadowy benefactor of the party who hires the party to get rid of 'unwanted' (rival vampires, necromancers, "Paranoid" paladins) people.
The true reason is of course quite selfish 'Keeping blood quality up', 'controlling the city's paladins[who are of course really paranoid for no reason]', etc.
Only real difference is I'm gonna make her actually competent and not a complete despot.

What do you think?
How can I make her a convincing character?

I would start by getting rid of all the usual tropes associated with Vampires.
So...explicitly demonic architecture, bathing in blood, all-black clothing, secret passages, eastern European accent, etc, put them all in a bin-bag and toss them out the window.

In fact, make her a benefactor. Outwardly she does a lot for the city and the common masses. Charity balls, Carnivals, renovations, hell maybe even soup kitchens?

Honestly I think it might be more interesting to make her a true paragon in character, and have her view her draining of people as a necessary evil for the greater (Taufu get out) good.

For people who don't speak ENGRISH:
The question is; do you (as the lore master) make your vampires able to "Feed" without killing?
>>
Well, if we go by Vampire: The Masquerade's rules, there's no reason why any human should ever die from a vampire's bite. Waking up each night consumes only 1 blood point, and taking 1 blood point from a human doesn't leave them in need of any medical attention.

Keep your Humanity at 7 (normal human) or better and you don't even need to spend blood to "look" human (flushed skin, breathing, etc.), it just comes naturally.

Keep yourself full with at least 7 Blood Points and you won't even ever need to make checks against the Beast, as long as your Humanity is at least 7.

Vampire society being a shithole has nothing to do with the Beast or the vampiric condition and everything to do with the fact that a bunch of assholes just took power and then tried to drag everyone down to their level in order to make themselves feel better about the fact that they're monsters.
>>

With Apocalypse World in its second edition, I wondered what kind of indie games TG enjoys. What ones have you played? What is your favorite? What do you like about it?

I'll go first.

Played
> Apocalypse World (1e)
> Dogs in the Vineyard
> Fate
> Burning Wheel
> The Riddle of Steel
> Blades in the Dark
> Sorcerer

The favorite of the pack thus far has been The Riddle of Steel, though BW is a close second. I'm a big sucker for the character-driven mechanics (Spiritual Attributes and Beliefs, respectively). It's changed the way I've GM'd ever since.

How do Necrons work? This shit with recent refluffing went out of hand and I never understood them to begin with.
They were people made into machines - but what was left from people? There are no souls inside them, cause no warp shenanigans for them. No flesh either - living metal, albeit regenerating, wasn't made from their bodies and isn't organic.
So are they simply robots? Then, again, if we take the current fluff - only troops are mindless machines, the upper echelon has personalities - then why no warp? AIs are susceptible to possession, aren't they?

>>
>>49999689
They're just skeleton-themed robots.
>>
>>49999689
Their forebears fashioned the spires that contain the Eye of Terror--they're not about to let Warpery in their brain cage.

The Tau and their machines are not, why should Necrontyr who lacked that vulnerability become vulnerable once their conscience is uploaded into a machinebody?
>>
>>49999718
Then why no warp? They are too complex for automatons, again, they are even clan feuds right now.

Figured this shouldn't go in the OP, but how would you build a Ressers Tara list? Forgotten Marshal seems great for her, but I'm still getting the hang of how she works in general.

I'd rather not just go for the one-trick beastie bomb
>>
>>49998628
Tara with nothing beast and some fleas, proabably datsu ba because I put her in everything.
A flesh construct and some guild autopsies.

You give tara reactiveate after burying something at the start of the turn.
Activate everything then reactiveate tara, she dumps the monster and maybe attacks.
Hopefully these two activations use up the rest of their cards which gives the autopsies and flesh construct reactiveate to get some shit done hopefully unopposed. For a bit of fun see if you make most of your dudes fast.

Aionus is really pricey but works well with tara too.
>>
>>49999385
Hmm... Autopsies seem nice with her. How would Shieldbearers (free fast + corpses) and spare parts be? Everything I'm seeing about Karina is that she's not worth the stones.

So my LGS is holding a paper pauper tourney next sunday. What should I bring /tg/? I'm not familiar with the format but I've heard it described as Delver the Delvering the format with Delver and his friends Delver and Delver.

So should I just bring delver?

I can build almost any pauper deck from the cards in my collection, as far as I can tell, xcept for bogles.

So /tg/, what should I bring? The tourney will follow the Pauper online rules and banlist.
