So, there was a Gundam RPG that used a modified version of Mekton Zeta ruleset. However, it was only released in Japan. It seems to cover the One Year War exclusively. I'd like to dump some translations of the rule changes to Mekton Zeta. It's split into multiple PDFs for different types of rules and different mobile suit types, so it might take a while. Still, if you have Mekton Zeta, you should be able to play Gundam Senki by using these.
Full credit to the translation goes to user Mendou on Gundam Forums. Tomino bless them.
>>50007404
I should mention that apparently the the rules for ships are missing. They haven't been translated yet and it seems like Mendou might not wanna do them.

My friend wants to try her hand at DMing and has come to me for help. whats a good system for a first time GM? she has only played 2 OSR systems (beyond the wall and a friend's homebrew.) she wants something rules light.

I'm going to be running a campaign where the only player is a generic Conan-type barbarian. I was going to have him storming a snake temple and fighting in an arena and all that jazz, but I wanted to ask for some outside input to spice things up a little.
>>50006736
The snake temple is the tip of the iceberg. In reality the snake cult is in league with the covert serpent men of valusia, who use a crystal found under the depths of Khem. Staring into it provokes things from another dimension, that which cannot exist in direct light. It holds all knowledge, and demands monstrous sacrifices for the revelation of such. And it is not alone, nor is its crystal, nor its cults.

Standard Sword and Sandal with bronze and iron. I'm new to GMing and he's new to DnD entirely so I felt it would be better to go simple.
Traveller is a classic science fiction system first released in 1976. In its original release it was a general purpose SF system, but a setting was soon developed called The Third Imperium, based on classic space opera tropes of the 60s, 70s, and 80s, with a slight noir tint.
Though it can support a wide range of game types, the classic campaign involves a group of retired veterans tooling around in a spaceship, taking whatever jobs they can find in a desperate bid to stay in business, a la Firefly or Cowboy Bebop.

So I've been reading Agent of the Imperium, and I'm getting near the end. So far it's damn good -- I'm actually worried this is going to be one of those books where when it's over, I really just want more.
(That's basically how I felt after reading Gibson's Sprawl trilogy, and then he never wrote any more Sprawl books.)
So here's hoping Marc Miller continues writing.
>>50006747
Yeah I started reading it too it pretty good.
For some reason I never realised there were so many aliens in the third imperium.
>>50008618
Yeah, there's a metric crapload of minor races.
I think my favorite minor race are the Llellewyloly. They're just so damn weird, and yet somehow plausible.

>>50006493
The writing has improved dramatically. You want to cringe, watch the original Lord Inquisitor trailer.
This one's honestly not that bad, Marcus is just an insufferable edgelord and they're clearly setting him up for a Chaos corruption story. It's obnoxious and predictable but very much consistent with 40k, overall. I am more optimistic about the supporting characters.
The lip syncing could use some work but I heard that's because it's keyed to German dialogue. I don't know if that's actually true, though.
>>50006493
Marcus is whiny as fuck, but Ihopethat's kind of a huge part of his character and will develop with time.
Also, this is originally made in German, with English voice-overs being secondary to the creators. As such, the voice overs aren't of nearly as high quality as they would be, because they (quite frankly) don't care as much about the English-speaking audience.
How do I, into Warhammer 40K
I've been trying to get into it for a while now.
And i cant find shit on it help?
What is it?also warhammer thread dump

Step 1:
Blatently pirate the rulebook and the codexes of every faction you find remotely interesting. Don't worry, everyone does it. You can find most of the codexes here:
https://mega.nz/#F!pFgm0RKR!J06C1gVYcjzNGsF8YNLsjQ!EVh0GZZS
Step 2:
Read them and pick the one you like the most. Now look for a get started collector's box. Don't buy anything else. You should be able to make a nice, easy 500 points army. Even if people say you should get a bigger army, don't. Learn the basics before ever going 1000 points. 500 points games can be completed quickly and let you feel out the rules and unit roles.
Step 3:
Paint. Turtorials on youtube.com/warhammer
Step 4:
Look for a warhammer or hobby shop in your area. Henceforth you should buy your supplies from this shop, NOT online. This will give the store money to continue existing and providing a local beacon to other players like you. You can also look for gaming clubs, which will give you a more personal experience and provide a gateway into other aspects of tabletop gaming.
Step 5:
Do you like your army so far? If so, purchase the Codex and Gamebook for real, and start adding to your army. More infantry, more heavy support, throw in a couple elites and maybe a fast attack.
Step 5a:
Don't like your army? Sell the models on Ebay and invest in another army. Behold! You just saved a load of cash by NOT buying books or excess units you no longer want. Don't get discouraged: We got a lot of armies in Warhammer, and your bound to find one you like!
Step 6:
Build. Paint. Play. Build. Paint. Play. Build. Paint. Play!

The tradition is alive and well, I see.
So the module I'm following has the avatar of death awaken and roam the world in search for a wife, but I'm unsure what criteria he should have and how it could play out? I want something interesting, the possibility of him choosing a PC but also for that not to be the case as it would end it very early. Thinking of some semi-related criteria like the first person that commits a wholeheartedly kind act in his presence, or just having a set of preferences, but I'm not liking any of my ideas really.

'Sup, /tg/. I heard you like combining settings to make awesome shit, if Disney Villains Victorious is any indication.
So, I've decided to make a setting, a post-apocalyptic one?
What apocalypse, you ask? All of them.
Tensions spiked and nukes went flying, the dead rose, aliens set their sites on Earth, Dread Cthulhu rose from the waves as the stars were finally right, and all manner of monsters were awakened through either massive amounts of radiation, ancient prophecies, or man's tampering in God's domain. Godzilla shot down UFOs, Jaegers tangled with Martian tripods, and deathclaws were deployed alongside Indominus rexes.
Now, it's 200 years later. The dust has finally settled, and humanity has just barely held on. Beasts from the depths of space and time immemorial alike now share the Earth, and radiation has made everything a hell of a lot more interesting.
I'll be posting what I have so far momentarily. We've done this before, /tg/. Let us do it again.
By most accounts, Earth is fucked. The various superweapons and unholy ancient artifacts slung by both sides wreaked havoc on the very fabric of reality, and their aftereffects will no doubt still linger on for millions of years to come.
North America is a blasted shithole. Graboids and deathclaws roam the deserts, temporally displaced dinosaurs are all over the place, and there's more giant ants, sapient apes, and living dead than you can shake a stick at.
The cities are even worse: If they aren't radiation-blasted husks, there's something worse living there.
Europe is a slightly less blasted shithole. The UK is being choked in a biological arms race between Martian Red Weed and human-engineered Triffids, and not much is managing to do to well against both of them.
By far the biggest problem you need to worry about are the kaiju. It's less a specific creature and more just a term for really, really huge creatures.
Kaiju come in all shapes and sizes, and most have unusual powers of some sort. Almost all of them can consume radiation in some way, shape, or form, and almost all of them can regenerate from wounds.
Exactly what kaiju you'll find in your neck of the woods varies by your location, but there are a few particularly common types:
>Meganula
Colossal dragonfly-like insects from Earth's ancient past, either reanimated from suspended animation in a mineshaft or pulled through a time portal, take your pick. They're fast, armored, and hungry, and they're never alone. They need to lay their eggs in water, so they're never far off. You don't want to meet their queens.
>Otachi
The descendants of a particularly dangerous alien-made kaiju, these creatures are fully capable of flight, often topping most aircraft in sheer speed. They can spit acid, carry off huge creatures, and their second set of jaws is nothing to sneeze at. Luckily, they tend to work alone or in pairs, although it isn't uncommon to see them pairing up with another kaiju.
>Kamacuras
One of the smaller kaiju, but by no means the safest. Kamacuras are gargantuan praying mantises that stand anywhere from 20 to 80 feet tall. They're fast, often hunt in packs, and can change color to camouflage themselves with their environment. Even worse, they have a taste for human flesh. Luckily, they're fairly fragile as kaiju go.
>Zilla
Not to be confused with the Big Guy, these guys are all descended from one creature that laid a clutch of eggs in New York City before being put down during the beginning of the End. They're extremely fast runners, able to outpace most vehicles, and excellent climbers, leapers, and diggers. They reproduce through parthogenesis, meaning that just one can quickly become an infestation. They like to live near coastlines, and have a taste for fish.

>Now, it's 200 years later. The dust has finally settled, and humanity has just barely held on. Beasts from the depths of space and time immemorial alike now share the Earth, and radiation has made everything a hell of a lot more interesting.
This is basically just the core RIFTS setting, isn't it?

I wanted to go for a more restraint starship Trooper or Aliens look for a paint job conversion, and I was wondering what the closest was fluff wise in the lore?

>>50004742

>>50004724
That's more Imperial Guard than anything, seeing as how all Marines are Space Knights with a military focus.
>>50004742
Yeah, there's the Raptors and the Emperor's Warbringers.
How do you handle currency exchange rates in a way that at the very least, isn't a pain in the ass?
Let's say there are 4 countries in a region and players may travel between them frequently. They have distinct histories and cultures. So they each use a different currency. Players may be paid in one countries money and spend it in another.
In that case, how do you make sense of this if the goal is for players to not have to worry about money that much?
Pretend there is only one value. So there is a dollar, but no multiples or fractions of a dollar.
How do you make this work?
Making it so they all use the same currency is a last resort.
>>50004002
Just charge a bit off the top every time they have to change money. Make it as much or as little as you want to encourage them to spend time (or not spend time) stockpiling all 4 and planning ahead.
>>50004033
Like just a flat percentage/fee every time they buy anything with foreign money, no matter what the matchup is?
Border towns would probably easily accept neighboring currency for goods, as it'd be easy to reuse. If the players can travel between them often then it doesn't seem like there's currently a war that would prevent this.
Large cities might have coin smiths/mints that could exchange it to meltdown for percentages, or to simply accept the coinage outright.
That's just off the top of my head though, hope it helps.
Universal currency isn't an awful idea, the party could keep their assets in gems or something else anyway. Exchange rates could be a 1:1 anyway, although it seems you're wanting to avoid that.
What's evil about a necromancer who uses their magic to keep in touch with their dead parents?
>>50003603
You shouldn't need to study necromancy in order to simply commune with the dead.

There is a large gap between being a medium and reviving corpses and channeling death energy.
