It's just meant for fun really. Most of the guys at my local shop only play 1250 point games and i wanted to try out the Cohort Cybernetica so i threw this list together. Thoughts?

you technically played correctly, as surgical extraction's "any" clause gives you a free pass but fuck me if that isn't a dick move. It really depends on the competitive REL. If this was casual this is a dick move. If this was comp, you might be forced to switch your salvat cards with something else in deck check.

I was checking his graveyard thinking about the cards remaining in his deck when he exiled the cards, I wasn't really paying attention there. I'm usually very talkative when announcing my plays and it is common for people at the store to ask permission to check things twice so they don't fuck up, so I guess I dropped the ball not telling him at least to check twice. I feel kinda bad now.

I think that the issue here is with licenses. Cubicle7 already has the license for LotR RPGs, and the OGL means they could make a quick buck with this. I don't think the authors, as in the actual creative people, behind The One Ring, are very involved in this reskin.
That said, I agree with you. We're going to get through OGL Glut 2: Electric Boogaloo, with d20 Anything. The only consolation is that the market is very different from the early 2000s.

Elven "Government" in my setting is pretty much relegated to family heads calling the shots.

Elven society goes on about their "Elders" in public, but there are actually two elven words for ruler in elven that aren't casual insults.

"Grandmother" and "Grandfather." The elven word for "King" is actually a slur that literally means "Bastard-Father."

Any gathering of elves large enough to consider a political power is pretty much guaranteed to be a family, usually a bloodline thousands of years old, and because an Elf won't die of old age, Grandmother's and Grandfather's are every bit as sharp as they were when they came to the head of the family. Power doesn't change hands very often, usually following a great crisis, though most families that lose their grandfather or grandmother this way fall apart. It functions fairly simply on paper: A male elf serves the will of his forefathers, and a female serves her foremother, the only real exception to this being the Drow, who are exclusively matriarchal but not all that different in the long run.

The reason Elven society is fading actually has very little to do with the expansion of humanity or the regression of nature or "Magic leaving the world" (which is utter nonsense), and a great deal to do with the fact that, after millennia of (at best) borderline inbreeding, Elven pregnancies are highly prone to birth defects and immunodeficiency. Half-elves are actually incredibly healthy, vital individuals, but are unanimously sorted to the far branches of the family as bastards or "mutts".

As it stands, the only reason the elves endure is because of their longevity. The consequences of their breeding and societal norms have taken so long to come about because Elves smply don't experience generational progression like humans or dwarves.

As there servants are fighting eachother, kill the masters with an IED or a dirty nuke or something. depends on the prep time I have I guess, I would think that a mage can get his hands on some pretty intense hardware.
