What are some interesting way to become a dragon?
1) One could become a true dragon, or yong or mireu, if it caught a Yeouiju which had fallen from heaven.
2) survive one thousand years of training in order to become a fully fledged dragon.
3) Must pass three tests of courage; Coming to aid of others, the act of swimming, and a literal 'leap' of faith in order to become a dragon.
One of the three to be large, benevolent, python-like creatures that live in water or caves, and their sighting is associated with good luck.

Learn magic that consumes the life of the world from a sorcerous master.
Betray master, lock him up, use great ritual fuelled by much magic and life force to become a dragon.
>>50178877
1) Kill dragons and eat their hearts or drink their blood. After doing this enough times you begin a gradual metamorphosis.
2) Magical ritual involving a dragon pressing one of it's scales onto your chest merging it with your skin. Again a slow and gradual metamorphosis.
3) Make a wish with magical mcguffin.
4) Be caught in a blast of draconic magic either from two dragons fighting or in the death throws of a dying dragon.
>>50179223
I must had sucks his cock real hard for this mage to teach me his vile magic. And attracted a lot of hero to kill me with the ritual.
>>50181445
1) I am what I eat!
2) Chosen one! I prefer it if it like the movie dragon heart where I get a dragon heart for the metamorphosis.
3) Only the slothful wish, I make my desire into reality by all means necessaryincludes wishes
4) in that scenario my DM would just make me turn into a fake dragon, a wyrm.
I'm wondering which systems are better (for my purposes.) How would you stat this character in your system? How about GURPS, Mutants & Masterminds or Fate?
Born under a bad sign and cursed with bad luck the mercenary Snake Eyes grew up as an orphan in the rough and tough city of Detroit but turned to crime when he found out he could push off his bad luck onto others.
Outfit: Steel-toed boots, cross necklace, a belt, a cowboy hat, fireproof full-sleeve shirt and pants, and a black mask. His clothing is mostly Marlan or Marko and therefore heat resistant to a temperature of 260ºC.
Equipment:
He wears fireproof heavy duty work gloves.
He wields a steel baseball bat.
His belt conceals a steal wire garrote looped underneath it
His jeans are stitched with fish hooks into the bottom sides to catch hands on pat-downs.
He wears an adamantium athletics cup.
His hat has sharp blades stiched onto the back of it.
He wears a lead-weighted silver cross on a steel chain necklace that can be taken off and swung as a flail. The chain necklace parts easily when pulled tight such as to choke someone.
Strapped to the inside of his right thigh is a pistol.
Strapped to his left lower leg is an all purpose machete. This machete is dirty and grimey and rubbed in filth, shit and blood on purpose to give a nasty infection.
He has a few homebrew bleach + ammonia bombs.
He has a pocket full of fishing wire and is skilled in improvised trap making.
What kind of setting?
contemporary urban ? horror ? post-apoc ? ...
Seeing as you haven't actually said anything meaningful about his skills and abilities other than something vague about back luck powers, I wouldn't.
That's not a character, that's a gear list
How do you deal with religion in your setting /tg/? I want to move away from the copypaste ebil catholic church but so far i've got nothing.
I made my own.

I ask the players who's characters are religious what it's like.
If the players don't care I probably won't either.

Have you ever been/run a sandbox rpg? What was it like and why was it the best choice you ever made?
>>50176718
It was very cutthroat, it was good choice given the circumstances.
>>50176718
I GMed sandbox in homebrew S.T.A.L.K.E.R system, with huge map of zone and random encounter generator coded in bash. Had a blast for two session, first was just only sweeping the world, finding artifacts, fighting mutants, army, bandits and !Monolith. Second session was more serious, where players tried to took over faction.
After that session, group was disbanded and we never finished the world.
But every sandbox will eventually turn into small campaign. You are just forced to create set of adventures, that can be played in any order.
>>50176718
>tfw no ERPish sandbox where I get to play a little tiefling slut trying to avoid getting raped and/or enslaved
I need your help. I need a system to basically make this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AfwfBoDEkQw#t=33s
Think Mad Max, Heavy Metal--mutations, death, dismemberment, psyionicsdieselpunk, magitech, with a focus on survival, vehicles, crafting, and crazy ass weaponry. What kind of post-apocalyptic pnps are out there that could make any of this work?
Anybody?
>>50176378
Might be kinda lighthearted compared to what you are describing but you could check Mutants and Machineguns. Its free and like 20 pages. (Also I made kind of a sourcebook for it about a mutant pigmen army)
>>50176378
GURPS After the End (covers essentially everything that Fallout does, and a few more things besides), with some detail from Technomancer (magitech setting with some neat toys) or Psionic Powers.
Some Reign of Steel for robots, Powers: The Weird for more superscience/mutation, and Ultra-Tech for weapons wouldn't hurt either.
>the setting is strewn with ancient artifacts known as chronoliths
>they do not follow time, which makes them indestructible and immovable
>people who are magically gifted can use them to view the future
>people who are chosen by the gods can use them as save points
>the party is not chosen
>the BEEG is
>>50173677
you can't really beat the BBEG then, because every time you defeat him he'll jump back to a previous point in time and do something differ-
oh my god
>>50173698
>because every time you defeat him he'll jump back to a previous point in time
Well ain't he in for a nasty surprise then.
>>50173677
>find BBEGs last used chronolith
>build a giant cauldron around it
>fill it with lava
>kill BBEG
Okay so, my group has been wanting a game around WWII aerial combat. I don't know of any rulesets that'd make tit easy, but obviously it'd need to be homebrewed. Is there a game already out there that would just copy paste, or would I be better taking pages out of Only War and just making it work?
>>50169433
Check your 6 has great air combat, but I'm assuming you want more of an RPG?
I dont think anyone has really written a comprehensive WW2 airman RPG. might be a hole in the market that people would really enjoy playing.
You could potentially use Traveller as a basis, it has piloting and vehicles covered very nicely and is a simple and effective system. Many WW2 vehicles statted out, and vehicles are incredibly easy to stat yourself too.

Okay pricks. Nobody on this board wants to talk about who's voting for who, so i think it's time we had a little bit of fun today.
Today we do our best to construct Duel Decks: Trump Vs Clinton. We are going to try and make this as thematic as possible, and pull our shit for brains together to create a somewhat balanced Duel Deck experience to commemorate such a ridiculous day.
RULES:
1. Each deck gets its own unique walker represented by their candidate. (Trump example above nonwithstanding, saved it from elsewhere.)
2. No more than 2 copies of any non-basic land card in the deck.
3. There will be three new cards in each deck, one of which is a planeswalker, and the only card that can be at mythic rarity. Every other card available in the deck will be a reprint.
4. New art for reprinted cards always welcome.
5. Keep the decks thematic and balanced against eachother (I know you'd want to represent both with Armageddon but what's that for gameplay?)
Need:
>Colour identities for both decks
>Ideas for reprints in both decks
>Thoughts on planeswalker abilities.
GOD MODE CHALLENGE: Both decks are built, balanced and ready to play by the time one candidate wins the election.
Trump makes sense as Jeskai, inb4 GB for Gitrog Frog
Hillary Clinton should be Black with another color
Trump Deck Reprints

Hillary Deck Reprints:
Greed
>>50163716
I'd kinda wanna make Clinton GB just to be the opposite of Trump, but Green doesn't really feel Clintonish unless you include environmental issues.
In that case i'd lean towards making her Sultai, blue for control. Thoughts?
Also toyed around with this idea. Shit name but maybe could work as one of the new cards?
>>50163716
Hillary should be Gitrog, honestly. She looks like a frog.
GMs, how do you organise your notes?
Do you keep them on paper or create a wiki? Do you have separate sections for NPCs and plot events?
when i used to DM so did i take a binder and create tabs in it, one for maps, one for "places" (map for town/villages, names of important npcs there, general notes for that specific place, quests and quest notes, etc, etc) one for planned encounters, one for random encounters and a zombie tab with defeated encounters (not to come back as zombies but incase i wanted to reskin the statblock without filling up the other tabs), and then one for the party itself
then i got lazy and started to use a notebook where i just scribbled the most essential things and some monsterstats, with the majority of things simply being me pulling stuff out of my ass.
I use a Trello board, a text editing program and a mindmap.

The Man in the Fancy Suit never gets older, no matter how long you live there.
On occasion, your sink is replaced with one made from fur.
The tap water here kills plants, but your landlady says you are free to take some from the garden, they do just fine with water here.
Am I weird for thinking the apertment building in the previous OP looked pretty comfy?

“This is the great lesson the depressive learns: Nothing in the world is inherently compelling. Whatever may be really “out there” cannot project itself as an affective experience. It is all a vacuous affair with only a chemical prestige. Nothing is either good or bad, desirable or undesirable, or anything else except that it is made so by laboratories inside us producing the emotions on which we live. And to live on our emotions is to live arbitrarily, inaccurately—imparting meaning to what has none of its own. Yet what other way is there to live? Without the ever-clanking machinery of emotion, everything would come to a standstill. There would be nothing to do, nowhere to go, nothing to be, and no one to know. The alternatives are clear: to live falsely as pawns of affect, or to live factually as depressives, or as individuals who know what is known to the depressive. How advantageous that we are not coerced into choosing one or the other, neither choice being excellent. One look at human existence is proof enough that our species will not be released from the stranglehold of emotionalism that anchors it to hallucinations. That may be no way to live, but to opt for depression would be to opt out of existence as we consciously know it.”
>― Thomas Ligotti, The Conspiracy Against the Human Race
So denizens of /ysg/ I am in the process of designing a lovecraft inspired rpg (once I have a bit more substance I'll post it in a future one of these threads) and I needed advice on something, what character archetypes I could include for PCs, (bearing in mind this isn't a straight up horror game) so far I have:
>the curious academic who tries to apply reason to a strange reality
>the survivor who mostly just gets by by dealing with the physical threats and trying not to think too much about the psychological ones
>the person who fully embraces it and essentially becomes a cultist themselves
>the person with an innate connection to the weirdness who's now learning what's in their blood
any other ideas?
