Requesting an image of this character here in some casual clothing, and dark brown hair instead of blond
if she could be sitting in a coffee shop or bar looking out a window on a rainy night that would be perfect.
thanks!
Reposting for the new thread:
Requesting a character I'm intending to play in a friend's own system and setting (alternative history, modern).
He's an Hawaiian man in his early 30s, just about average in height. He has a bit longer arms than a "normal person" but no to the point that it's jarring. His skin is light brown with a lot of birthmarks covering his arms and throat/neck. His eyes are a vivid color mix of red-green, with rings around his eyes (looking tired). His haircut is short hair with no bangs a la "all business" look, hair color is black due to his ethnicity. His forehead is scarred from burning, covering most of it. Though there is still some distance between his thick eyebrows and the scar. He has quite visible laughlines despite his otherwise "sharp" face. His mouth is bigger than an average person's and define a lot of how his face looks (when he smiles or not).
He is a surgeon by trade, the one that does the extra messy operations. So he would be in his "work outfit", a surgeon outfit with the sleeves rolled up, a belt with surgical tools on his waist and a removed facemask that hangs on his throat/neck. He would have a wry smile preferably. His rubber-gloves would be covered with blood and in his left hand he holds a surgical blade, his general pose would be relaxed but still with a straight back.
Thanks whoever picks this up! I'm getting really attached to this character so I couldn't resist and break my 5 month break from /tg/ and check if drawthreads are still active.

What's the most effective (and cheapest) way to make a character that can store and control hornets at will?
Last thread >>50030506
I always hear about any disad limit over 75 being terrible; can someone explain why? I'm considering having a 200 point game with 100 disads allowed, and want to know why that would be a bad idea.
>>50132170
>What's the most effective (and cheapest) way to make a character that can store and control hornets at will?
Something with payload (flesh pockets maybe) that might be specialized for hornets.
Then your hornets can be allies. A more expensive option is to have mind control (hornets only).
>>50132229
Basically, if the disad limit gets too huge, players can't really use it without gimping their character concept or making a thematically "busy" character.
Better then to just give them more points to spend with a lower disad limit and keep it clean and simple.

Welcome to the Accidental Magical Girl thread!
Various worlds and multiverses have become connected together via the mysterious Overcity, a sprawling landscape inhabited by monsters and magical beings. Girls and boys endowed with their new supernatural powers can work together solving conflicts that arise!
>This is NOT a greentext adventure style CYOA with one GM and thread posting to dictate the adventure, but rather a hub thread for multiple storycrafters to use.
This thread houses three systems: First, QuasarBlack's CYOA PDFs which may be used as writing prompts. Second, AMGC which expands on the CYOA character creation and provides rules for combat. Finally, the SCS is an alternative to AMGC with a similar purpose. IRC uses mostly AMGC and Discord uses mostly SCS.

The CYOA's Patron Module, which determines just who bestows your character's magical abilities. But be wary, for not all of these patrons are after your best interests...
The SCS was made as an addon to the CYOA to cover the combat side of roleplaying. It allows players to easily take characters made in the CYOA v1.5 and use them in Quests and long-running campaigns alike.
This PDF covers the basics of magical girls and sets the groundwork for updates and addons.

Which faction in 40k is the most 'Grimdark' of them all?

most definitely chaos, literally designed to be as edgy as humanly possible.

That's not Dark Eldar

"What seems to be the problem officer?"
Last evening, I had a bit of tension with my group. They were trying to sneak into a troglodyte temple, and first tried to bluff their way in by claiming to be avatars of one of the gods in their pantheon, which would put them above the law.
I told them that there was 0, absolutely no chance in hell, that this bluff would ever possibly succeed, what with the xenophobic tendencies of said deity and the fact that they're not 10 feet tall, glowing, and blasting fireballs out of their asses.
Whining, insisting that I at least give them a chance, say that they deserve a roll, to which I agreed with but told them that sure they can try, but they're going to fail no matter how well they bluff, so they may as well not bother.
Eventually they dropped the idea, but it left a bad taste in the air. I realize that generally, you shouldn't put your foot down as a GM and say "no, you can't do this successfully", but when you do, how do you go about doing so to as minimize bad feeling?
>>50186544
Generally, "No, but..." is the best response, but in this case there's really no option other than "No". It's like if a player in a no-magic setting decides he wants to roll a wizard. There's no compromise or close second, it's just no.
>>50186544
Buckshot
Those whinny little bitches didn't put any effort into their scheme. how fucking hard is a giant person / flaring light effect spell to get. basic prestidigitation and Disguise. Make those hoe work for their bluff. They Salty cause they aint going to be able to ROLLPlay all over you like they done everyone else. Fuck those Lazyfags.
Now what you want are those Spy tactical mofos going all Bard with illusions and shit. and then you have the other be like his captured slaves. and then you claim great glory, and trade to the temple. See that see that. Then you tell the tell about how you wompped this adventures good see. And the Big Chiefian comes out and ConGatz yah, but that when you pull out your shiv and shak a bitch while your 'slaves' break free and and start murderhoboing the tribe.
THATS how you pull a bluff CHeck NIGGGGGGGG
>>50186633
Well, yes, but what do you do to soothe the ruffled feathers afterwards?
>>50186722
To be honest, I doubt any amount of magical legerdemain would be enough to let them pass themselves off as avatars.
How long have you been working on your setting, how much has it changed over time and what about it has changed?
>>50169086
Jan 2016 to now
original concept:
>token trope world. Big bad empire of obviously evil bad guys invading good guy lands. Send in the PC's to help!
Now:
>The PC's are the last best hope for the Alliance of Men, Dwarves and Elves. The dark tide of the Beastmen Empire rolls toward the last bastions of good in the world. Dark magic has corrupted all too weak to resist. None are spared. The plague upon all men? Engineered by dark Lords of Evil. The Beastmen? Held under whip and chain by enchanted drugs. The Evil empire itself? Driven by desperation, need, and last spiteful acts of simple men in dire straights. Gray, dismal, and angry. Saddest game Ive run to date.
oddly enough, Ive received _nothing but praise_ from the players. I must be hitting the right balance between "Your actions are a ray of hope" VS "GRIMDERP'
This one setting I've been working on since I was introduced to Dungeons and Dragons when I was 13. So, nearly a decade and a half. It's changed drastically with several core iterations. It started as a few loosely designed cities based off some German-ish names and a few ideas about dwarves and elves being nearby. It later blossomed into a full world with a ten-thousand-year history, more than twenty sentient races, and actually two working -- if basic -- languages. Most of the history and many of the races were axed as I tried to spin the unique magic system for the setting out into something much comprehensive with several sub systems for different planets. It's narrowed focus and kept on the universal train as the magic system has been refined. Only a few names remain from the original days, and even those have changed as the languages they were associated have been built. It's basically completely different.
>>50169086
I literally just threw it out to replace it with a half drunk idea of the PCs vs evil Alexander the Great.
Wish me luck, game night is Friday.

I want to make a game that takes place after a great war, akin in age and style to the american civil one.
I need a reason for the origin of the war. If you want, you can specify which side won and which consequences it had.
>>50196740
Good king x died and left no heirs. All the dukes turned on each other and vied for supremacy. It ended when one of them won. The consequences are a lot of bitter feelings and dead men. Because many men died this causes social problems. Peasant life is difficult, and the new kings army/guard can't patrol everywhere they need to. This means on the fringes and in rural areas there are a lot of bandits and monsters, because there aren't to troops for the government to deal with them. This gives rise to many mercenary, or alternatively heroic, groups who deal with the problems of the folk on the outskirts of civilization.cliche I know, it's just what comes to mind.
Look to Eberron for inspiration.
>kingdom is torn into five nations because the old king dies and nobody can agree who should claim the crown
>war lasts for 100 years
>noble houses remain neutral
>one noble house (re)discovers the art of making sentient living constructs, and sells them to every nation
>war only ends because one nation is wiped in not!nuclear devastation that extends exactly to its borders
>nobody know who did it
>nobody takes responsibility
>everyone is fucking terrified of it happening to their own nation
>people decide to stop fighting
>because of fuckery during the war, basically twelve nations now exist, including neutral druids ruled by a tree and a nation of pirates who are TOTALLY ruled by this one guy and not at all a hive of scum and villainy
>sentient living construct soldiers are officially to be treated as other people, but still discriminated against
