Is there anything I can do to help facilitate this as a GM?

Often the reason why online games fail is because they're filled up with people that are all strangers to one another, and because of the nature of the game (and the people who play it) people'll often ignore this fact won't actually get to know the other players and so shit just ends up being less fun because of a lack of cohesion.

Obv sometimes shit doesn't work out but ffs if office teambuilding exercises created a multi-million dollar industry then there's gotta be some 'get tah know ya' games i can subtly whip out and not make the players feel like babies.

The tryanids reach Terra, and destroy the Emperor's body. Now, before you grab the torches, listen.
>This kills off the high lords of terra, who are arguably the worst things to happen to the Imperium after He died. This lets the other leaders of the Imperium to think and make descisions without the high lords breathing down their neck, with a bolter to the back of their head. The majority of the Imperium's leaders make trade agreements and alligences with the Tau, Eldar, and some Orks, promising that they can fight happily for the rest of their days with things that, Yarrick says, 'Makez da biggezt boomz!'
>Excluding the 21st founding chapters, all the legions form back up. This brings the space marines closer together, allowing them to be even more combat efficient.
>Both Magnus and Alparius come to the current leaders of the Imperium and beg for pardon and forgiveness, and, along with their legions, are granted it.
>The Imperium becomes slightly less xenophobic.
>The two remaining 'whole' eldar gods revive Khaine after uniting the shattered pieces of his soul.
>Cadia becomes the new headplanet of the Imperium.
>Vulkan, Corax, a clone of Ferrus, Khan, Dorn, Russ, and Robute (who is enterned in an advanced dreagnought) return to the Imperium.
>The emperor is reborn on an Imperial fringe planet, and is given a name.
>Earth collapses and opens up another eye of terror.
>The forces of chaos are crippled, and several chaos marines and champions return and beg for forgivness.
>Malal becomes nearly ten times stronger than any of the chaos gods at their current strength.
>Farsight overthrows the ethereals with the help of the Lamenters.
>The emperor allows the mechanicus to reverse-engineer SCTs.
>The necrons are less hostile towards humans and eldar due to them giving them spiritstones and Old-One tech that imitates the funtion of a soul.
>Ciaphas Cain returns.
>The tyranids grow in number.

My players and I want to do a high fantasy campaign, sailing ships, visiting islands of tribes people, what kind of adventures have you run/done in island settings that were awesome?
6 posts and 1 images submitted.

Stick to the cliches. They're cliche 'cuz iit's a shitload of fun to use them.

You've got sunken ships that are mini-dungeons, which lead you to a treasure-map or what-have-you, that leads them into the jungle where they find the long-dead survivors, the treasure, and whatever ultimate fate killed the survivors (preferably something lurking in the area that traps the players at the location with them going "oh shit this is how all these guys got turned into corpses").

You've got base-building troubles with the local flora and fauna and the unfriendly natives, then the real fight in the pirates who show up and decide the players built them a nice island hide-away.

Do a typical native adventure where they stumble on the village princess being sacrificed to a violent and angry god and the players have to fight the natives to commit the sacrilege of trying to reach the evil elemental/demon living inside the volcano/cenote/underworld-caverns that they can go defeat to save the girl.

A cavern in some cliff-side doesn't actually end--it just goes underwater! Into a barely lit, mini-underdark populated by whatever native/monster hybrids you've got lurking around (kuo-toa if this is D&D). That's a nice adventure that starts with a whirlpool leading into an underdark dungeon of caverns.

Of course you've also got your piracy adventures, where whatever the colonial power is decides that the players have something that's contraband, and it's a straight-up ship battle. The other guy retreats and the players find out it's not contraband at all and the captain chasing them is actually hunting them for something they have that's of personal value to him, and that captain has gone rogue. But he gets a couple other ships together and the good-guys of the navy ally with the players and it ends up a 5v5 naval battle of navy infighting with some of them on the sides of the players.

I dunno. Those are the kinda things I find fun.

I'm actually playing a setting a lot like this, which is turning out pretty fun
We saved a small town that had been overrun by pirates, we fought ghost ships that appear from the fog, we keep fighting local tribes of goblins and cannibals, and save other locals, like a tribe of locathah who were being ravaged by goblins.
i highly recomend you guys go through with it

I don't even know what just happened guys, beside me being a little too lenient of a DM.

> Couple of players don't show up, decide to have a joke fight
> Lets roll up some 20th level Characters and fight something
> Players and I roll up Cleric,Druid,Barbarian and a Warlock/Paladin
> Decide to fight a Tarrasque
> First few round go okay, Cleric stops using spell when he realises the reflective carapace
> Druid nearly gets swallowed but avoids it with a well placed wall of stone
> Few rounds later, Druid actually gets swallowed just before his turn
>"DM, remember I said I was wearing a Jade circlet?"
> Yeah...
>WheresThisGoing.jpg
> I cast Shapechange
> Okay... What into?
> An ANCIENT WHITE DRAGON

Now i had a choice here, either say no or see how weird this could go. I went with the latter.

>Being as you shape changeing into a something that is gargantuan, inside it neck( having just been swallowed i said he wasn't in the stomach just yet)
> i'll roll a percentile to see what happens
> 95 or higher the Tarrasque fails to spit you out and you burst out of his neck in full dragon glory
> roll....
> 97
> he was at 500 hp
> The druid just blew his fuckin neck open and his head off
>.....
>Lets just end the session there

Post times you came to regret a ruling you made due to dice gods proceeding to immediately fuck you over.

I was under the impression you can't shapechange or enlarge unless you have the unobstructed room to do so.

On the other hand, it was a one-shot joke fight, just make it clear that no precedents for other rulings were set.
>>
>>50187318
Going by the Enlarge Person spell (and assuming 3.5), it should be a Str check to bust out, and on failure just being stuck there (transformed) with no harm to either.

If it were me, I'd have him bust out and rip the Tarrasque's head off...dealing only the usual 50 damage that would be needed to bust out of being swallowed, and then the Tarrasque simply reattaching its head on its next turn as it would a severed limb (per its regeneration ability). Given that the Tarrasque's regeneration prevents all lethal damage and even death effects, I think decapitation being only a minor inconvenience is right in line. And it would strike a nice balance between giving the players some progress (the druid escaped being swallowed and dealt a fair chunk of damage!) without short-circuiting the fight, and doing it in a rather exciting and memorable way.
>>
>>50186439
You need to read spell descriptions and monster descriptions more-closely.
A) the body of a White Dragon cannot damage the Tarraasque. It is not a magical weapon and can deal no damage to it. Therefore, the white dragon dies as he tries to get bigger and simply gets squished by Tarrasque flesh.
B) The jade circlet breaking nullifies the spell. The jade is less durable than both the dragon and the tarsque, so gets squished first anyhow.
C) The spell EXPLICITLY precludes the caster from turning into a dragon.

What happened is that you made a bad ruling because you didn't know the rules.

How resistant to radiation are orks? Would radweapons actually pose a threat to them (killing off their spores, poisoning them, etc) or would they just shrug it off?
10 posts and 4 images submitted.
>>
>>50185072

Orks are pretty resilient, but they're not immune to everything. Hostile enough environments kill off their spores and really fuck up their biology.

How much radiation are we talking, here? The kind the AdMech pumps out in warfare would probably render them and the battlefield sterile. Enough for heavy sterilization procedures would probably work as well. Also I'm assuming we're talking about Gamma radiation, Alpha and Beta radiation are pussies.

and in the process utterly reduce their ability to defend jack shit
>>
>>50184078

The number of threats that needs an entire Chapter, let alone more than one, are astonishingly small. The IoM's strategic position is a lumbering giant playing whack-a-mole. Behemoth was shattered from ONE chapter pulling everyone together and making a stand. Legions were only really necessary when the Astartes were taking and holding worlds, not when the IoM is on the defensive.

To kill a vampire:

To kill a werewolf:

To kill a skeleton:

Burying him under a river would work. Vampires cannot cross running water. He'd stay entombed forever
>>
>>50183658
They're historical/folkloric methods. In traditional vampire lore, if you spill rice or some other particulate they have a compulsion to stop and count it all.

If you're around YJ_anon, are the foes you face in The Last Avenger drawback about on the level of their recent cinematic counterparts? Obviously Loki is more powerful than his depiction, and not all of the villains have had appearances lately, but for those that have like Ultron (if you stop him before he gets the Kree technology the drawback warns about) or Apocalypse is that about the level they're at? Would the others (aside from Galactus) be in roughly the same tier?
