It is 205 years since the Battle of Tippecanoe, fought near present-day Lafayette, Indiana, between American forces led by Governor William Henry Harrison of the Indiana Territory and Native American warriors associated with the Shawnee leader Tecumseh.

In the wake of the 1809 Treaty of Fort Wayne which saw 3,000,000 acres of land transferred from the Native Americans to the United States, Tecumseh began a rise to prominence. Angry over the treaty's terms, he revived the idea that Native American land was owned in common by all the tribes and could not be sold without each giving their consent. Lacking the resources to directly confront the United States, he began a campaign of intimidation among the tribes to ensure that the treaty was not put into effect.

While Tecumseh was working to build support, his brother Tenskwatawa, known as "The Prophet," had begun a religious movement which stressed a return to the old ways. Based at Prophetstown, near the confluence of the Wabash and Tippecanoe Rivers, he began garnering support from across the Old Northwest. In 1810, Tecumseh met with the governor of the Indiana Territory, William Henry Harrison, to demand that the treaty be declared illegitimate. Refusing, Harrison stated that each tribe had the right to treat separately with the United States.

Departing, Tecumseh began secretly accepting aid from the British in Canada and promised an alliance if hostilities broke out between Britain and the United States. In August 1811, Tecumseh again met with Harrison at Vincennes. Though promising that he and his brother sought only peace, Tecumseh departed unhappy and Tenskwatawa began gathering forces at Prophetstown. Traveling south, he began seeking assistance from the "Five Civilized Tribes" of the Southeast and encouraged them to join his confederacy against the United States.

What are some of the more interesting spirits that have appeared in your games?
>>
Can a lunar bring allies to help kill the target of a sacred hunt?

What animals would you target to fill out the most versatile/rounded out heartsblood library with the fewest hunts?

traits you'd want:
special senses like eccolocation or shark sense
a form for stealth,
something that could fly
something with gills,
something strong
something inconspicuous
something absurdly venomous,
something very quick/fast/nimble
something with a large amount of soak
something flashy/attention grabbing

and ideally many of these triats would be found in the same animal to keep it streamlined.

but what animals specifically?

I know you'd often want a spirit shape with very high physical stats, but I'm thinking I'd go with the heartwasp potential cheese over boring tyrant lizard cheese

If you are GMing, remember...
1. To strongly consider giving out at least one free "tax feat," like Expertise and pre-errata Melee Training.
2. To use Monster Manual 3/Monster Vault/Monster Vault: Nentir Vale/Dark Sun Creature Catalog math. Avoid or manually update anything with Monster Manual 1 or 2 math.
3. That skill challenges have always been scene-framing devices for the GM, that players should never be overtly told that they are in a skill challenge, and that the Rules Compendium has the most up-to-date skill DCs and skill challenge rules.

If you would like assistance with character optimization, remember to tell us what the what the rest of the players are playing, what books are allowed, your starting level, the highest level you expect to reach, what free feats you receive, if anything is banned, whether or not themes are allowed, your starting equipment, and how much you dislike item-dependent builds.
If you wish to talk about settings, 4e's settings are Points of Light (the planes and the natural world's past empires are heavily detailed in various sourcebooks and magazines), 4e Forgotten Realms, 4e Eberron, 4e Dark Sun, and whatever setting you would like to bring into 4e.

>Hmm. Is there a decent way to make that go large size in combat?

Well, considering that the minotaur is mechanically considered medium, unless you want your polymorphed war-form to be signifigantly larger than a minotaur, there's no real reason to need a mechanican effect of becoming large other than.... being a Barbarian.

In my experience, not very far.

Like many other RPGs, rare is the campaign that goes beyond a half-dozen sessions. However, if your players haven't given you the run-around and dragged their feet regarding char-gen for a month or more, then you might actually be seeing the signs of a successful gaming group.

Mine though? Everyone expects that (or at least acts like) character generation is as quick and easy as picking the top hat or scottie from goddamn monopoly box.

My only suggestion is that you don't over-prepare. One... maybe two sessions ahead, tops. Otherwise the wasted effort really wears on you.
>>

>My only suggestion is that you don't over-prepare. One... maybe two sessions ahead, tops. Otherwise the wasted effort really wears on you.

This, so much.

I have NO idea why GW let such an amazing concept just fade away. Emperor's children could have been the most creepy, genuinely disturbing, hell raiser esque shit to come to 40k. They could have been the symbol of what actual chaos was. But no. Instead GW decides to dickride the chaos space marines with anger problems and the chaos space marines who are fat NEETS who don't bathe. Emperor's children have so much potential for all kinds of amazing shit, all kinds of out of this world stuff because their gods worship is so cosmic, it could literally be anything. The demons of slaanesh are nightmare fuel and...AND bonerfuel at the same time. What else does that? They weaponized music. They are amazing duelists, like white scars on a pound of concentrated god dust. But no... "they're too mature and explicit for the young ones. They like boobs and drugs and rock." What the actual fuck.

...so you're basicaly saying the entire company should concentrate on a specific piece of the setting that you find cool, and forsake other that others like?

I mean, I love ECs as well, for similar reasons, but still, dude, it's a huge setting.

And I really don't believe World Eaters and especially Death Guard really have that much more coverage. The Black Legion and rengades, sure, but no single Legion other than Abaddons marry bunch really recieves much love.
>>

GW doesn't understand that they are not a toy company that sells toys to kids, they sell a hobby to hobbyists. So they're sanitizing the whole thing. Pretty pathetic that people still continue to support them.

I haven't played in a year. Anything new for Skorne / CoC?
>>
>>50134463
Skorne got worse, CoC a terrible new Colossal, but generally got better in Mk3.

They're supposed to get a new theme in the next few months.

>both /tg/ and /lit/ threads are comatose
>my region has a lot of activity, which is cool
>but they're all writing genre fiction and I'm afraid of coming off as pretentious
>and they're 95% female and I have terrible social anxiety
>couldn't even go to their meet-ups if I felt brave enough because I'm at home coughing my lungs out
I just want to discuss my writing with fellow writers.

I don't know if comatose is fair. The last thread clocked up 320 posts in two days.

Also, as an erstwhile litizen, what's your pretentious new sincerity masterpiece about?

The core theme is the act of creating. Art in relation to the artist, and interpretations of the (literal as well as figurative) death of the artist. I'm probably trying too hard to be clever, and I'm pretty sure it's blatantly obvious, but I'm having fun doing it.

I have two nameless MC's. A young man trapped in nihilistic thought who desperately wants to leave a mark on the world, and a lonely young woman who just wants to find a soulmate. Both have an animal they talk to, and their only contact with one another are brief online chats. Meanwhile a series of pointedly public suicides make the news.

Natural 20 threads can be dumb fun but are mostly just dumb.

I kinda want to get into a TCG again because I have a gambling problem and I like collecting stuff. Is there any TCG that is relatively balanced and fun?

I don't know much about the current state of tcg shit but I've heard yugioh is pretty shit and magic is so large and developed that it's basically about who has the most money.

any suggestions?

Play EDH. It's a casual Magic format with a large following and WotC now make official products for it.

It's easy to get into it with the precon decks and because it's a singleton format you don't need to spend a shit ton on it.

What are some cool ideas for planets and moons? I don't mean thier government, or culture or anything I mean the planet itself.

I gonna run a run a campaign centered around a star orbited by a large number of planets, 5+ of which are inhabited by various sentient species, and I need some ideas for these planets.

The cracked world of Kadir.

Kadir is a large, rocky world with a dense and chaotic atmosphere, and low mantle activity. This is due to the fact that Kadir was, at some point in the recent geological past (lets say 40 million years ago) struck by a very small, very fast and very dense object. The nature of this object is as yet unknown, but it is widely believed to be a relativistic craft, perhaps even a superluminal one, belonging to some ancient race. Other natural explanations may include a rogue black hole.

What matters is that the object passed through the planet, shattering it, but not exploding it. The planet broke into several large pieces and an unfathomable amount of smaller debris. but most of the fragments failed to achieve escape velocity. The planets own gravity eventually has captured the various fragments and crushed them back together into a mostly planet-shaped mass, but the structure of the planet has not fully healed and is still VERY unstable. Instead of having tectonic plates, they have stacks of unevenly sized rocky massed, slowly being crushed together. Earthquakes are common and tremendous to a scale unseen on almost any other world.

Due to the cracked nature of the world, the planet is marbled with 'caverns' that are in fact gaps between the various rocky fragments, stretching down at least 11 KM into the planets surface. Further caverns are suspected, and indeed you might be able to plot a trail in one side of the planet and out the other, but no expedition to go further than 11 KM has ever returned or been recovered. See: all the Earthquakes.

If there was life on Kadir, it did not survive the impact event. It is hard to imagine what life could evolve there now. The atmosphere that remains is filled with dust that blocks out much of the light of the nearby star, and and air currents weave in and out of the holes in the ground creating suction zones that will deposit you into under ground storm systems.
