When you design a setting, or world, for your games, do you design the world with the game system in mind? Or just a world with inhabitants and history etc. ?
I've come to understand with my own games, that if I try to rationalize things in system, it never feels as natural as if I'm just spit balling concepts alone. Thinking about classes, or spell levels, or abilities instead of culture or history or geography; nothing feels like it fits if its RAW.

This thread houses three systems: First, QuasarBlack's CYOA PDFs which may be used as writing prompts. Second, AMGC which expands on the CYOA character creation and provides rules for combat. Finally, the SCS is an alternative to AMGC with a similar purpose. IRC uses mostly AMGC and Discord uses mostly SCS.

It's one thing to use magic to treat physical ills such as broken bones and what not but what about the metaphysical/spiritual ills?
I'm reminded of Persona 3 where people would go into a semi-coma like state where they were nearly unreceptive and typically were made extremely nihilistic.
Why isn't this more of a thing that has to be dealt with in settings that have a lot of magic about it?

That's implying that there is a "normal" state of the mind and that it's beneficial for you.
The thing is, while deviation from the "normal" state of the body are almost always a bad thing (disregarding things like magical/technological augmentations and whatnot), deviation from the "normal" state of the mind is not necessarily bad.
