Very heavily regulated in order to prevent it from spreading Chaotic influence.
So, absolutely nothing like it is now.

Ok Tech-priests, Why do you triplex connectors?
They take up less space and transfer power more efficiently than duplex, not to mention that the wires themselves are sturdier. Why are so against using them?
>Inb4 it makes muh machine spirits bawwww!
Well then tell them to calm their cybertits. You're techpriests, you're supposed to be a connection between the machine and flesh, are you really so incapable of telling them to stop being bitchy and suck it up?
Or could it be that you techno-fascists don't actually have a clue as to what you're doing because you spend all your time sticking your dicks in toasters rather than actually learning about science?

Elegan/tg/entlmen, I would like to advance the tech level of the setting *without* being accused of meta gaming.
A friend of mine is the GM in a setting where humans, once the slaves of elves and other magical races, fought a war of liberation as the result of a diety giving them direct knowlege of how to counter thier magic through "anti-magic." This divine's revelation to mankind also spawned a state religion that makes magic illegal in the human controlled nation state. The principal doctrine of this religion eschews magic because it's origins come from making pacts with very nasty demons, but people may also inherit magical abilities. Magic is seen overall as "cop out", path of least resistance, selling your soul to gain power and soforth. The catch here is that not everyone who has magic made said pact, but they are treated as heretics and burned regardless.
My character is a former member of the military arm of that state religion. The tenets of the religion promote ingenuousness, but the politics and misinterpretation of the doctrines prevent any real technology from advancing due to being seen as heretical (ie; if I were to invent a clock, it would be decried as magic).
How would I go about basically puling a Galileo /DaVinci/Copernicus in this game without using too much out of character knowledge? I have thought of attempting some sort of reformation from within, since most of the adherents of the paladin's order are genuinely of good intention, if not a little ignorant.
(final note: alchemy is 50/50, with half of it being considered "medicine" and the other half being seen as nasty heresy that needs urgent purging.)

Don't have any constructed terrain to share, but hopefully interesting locals will make up for it.
Also, speaking of terrain, what's the best way to do trees for D&D terrain? Is it even worth doing? The foliage and branches seem like they'd get in the way and be a real pain after a while.

Which is your favorite new super-sugoi 1pp prestige class? Is it back to the old arcanist/psion/psychic/sorcerer/witch/wizard + Evangelist with Prestigious Spellcaster?

Is there a way to tastefully kill of a characters family in a backstory?
>>50700898
Have them die of illness or childbirth. No chance of foul play because of those things, and they actually were pretty common in those times that Fantasy games are meant to represent.

Oh.. Um... To come back looking like the guy that killed you.
How the fuck do I make a good player character that encourages me (and others) to roleplay?
Don't base them around a single trait or feature.
Think of a few key characteristics and build from there.
Come up with a light backstory, how they came to be part of the campaign and why they would continue doing so. What motivates them?
Don't make a lone wolf character or any sort that insists on working alone (though someone who is used to working alone and begrudgingly works with the party could have some interesting RP with the party).
There's some other stuff but those are probably the basics, I may have forgotten some.
Don't over develop your backstory to the point of autism.
Have conflicts based off happistance, not off some ancient promise.
Pick a few defining traits. I usually try to pick a couple of things relating to gender, race or class (For example, a pampered lady character and then build out a few more traits from this).
In the first session, play the shit out of these core traits. If you're a naive plucky noble girl then be excited about everything, allow yourself to get tricked if the situation arises and display how disconnected they are from the commoner.
Begin to develop out from that as the game goes, flesh out your backstory with little allegories etc. For example, maybe she was bullied because she was so naive and everyone thought she was dumb. You don't necessarily have to share these stories, they can just be head canon that might pop up if the situation arises.
If you feel like you're not roleplaying, a good way to develop your own character is also to help others do the same. Ask them about why they have that scar, or why they left home and their natural reactions will be to ask you questions back. That's how relationships are built between characters, and if possible adding elements of conflict/disagreement with other party members can spice things up.
Updated version of the game I posted here a few days back.
I had to cut it super shortto meet a deadline, so what you see here is NOT the final version. I'll be working in this over the next weeks/months, but I thought I'd post the progress.

I've been wanting to get back into miniature painting and all things GW have gone way out of my price range so I was looking at other manufacturers.
What do you think of Anvil Industries and Pig Iron ? They look fine to me, but has anyone had issues with quality, delivery, etc ... ? Notable things about them ?
Any other suggestions form other vendors ? Mostly for sci-fi minis with more or less the same tone as 40k
Also : how the fuck do you strip paint from pastic minis ?

How many things in the chain can defeat a full circle of essence 10 Solars?
>>50693568
A group of at least 11 Solars could defeat a group of 10 Solars.
There are an infinite amount of numbers greater than or equal to 11.
Therefore, there are an infinite number of things in the chain that could defeat 10 Solars.

What does /tg/ think of diplomacy? I'd like to share some strategy and maybe talk about games you've had. Can Italy ever actually ein?
>>50691416
Italy can definitely win, you just have to play a strong game. It's definitely the hardest long-term. Austria is probably hardest short-term, but if you can weather the storm and get at least one solid ally you stand a fighting chance. I actually almost won my first game I ever played as Austria.
Never won as Italy, alas.
I was told it was *the* friendship-ending game.
How true is that?
>>50691542
I'd say as much as any other game like it, from Cataan to Risk to Monopoly. It's a game where you and your friends all lie to each other (or not.) Only one person can win (though several can draw, but draws are for sissies), and there are seven players. If you can't agree to leave what happens in the game at the table, you shouldn't be playing Diplomacy.
