>Hiding her ears
Hmm...really fires up those neurons, doesn't it?
>>50822846
You could almost forget that she's supposed to be an elf.
I've heard that the lady of the lake is actually an elf.A male one even.

CEASE THINE CLEFT TONGUE SLANDEROUS PEASANT!
I WILL END YOUR MEAGRE EXCISTENCE, IN THE NAME OF THE LADY!
Having trouble opening a locked treasure chest, the party alchemist pours aqua regia through its keyhole, dissolves all gold pieces inside. The chest is then tilted, the solution collected to be precipitated later back in lab.
>>50822484
You're still going to lose some value; coins are often worth a bit more than the sum total of their precious metals.
>>50822484
You're gonna be carrying a chest full of unstable, liquid alchemical solution through several levels of dungeon plus the wilderness back to your lab in a city?
Gee, good plan. I'm sure nothing will go wrong and no member of the party will end up dissolved in acid.
>>50822484
That must be a real fucking sturdy chest to not get dissolved violently by the aqua regalia.

It could be anything. It could be an IG Sentinel.

Hey guys, Christmas is coming up, and my cousins and me usually play some D&D during the holidays. I have just created a new character, a Male frost elf barbarian who wields a Glacier Greatsword but I cant think of a name, anybody got one?

Determine the point at which there's less than a 1% chance of someone coming back from their deficit, or less than a 1% chance of the person in the lead ever losing that lead

What age did you started to get interested in /tg/ things? Always wanted to play DnD as a kid but could never convince anyone to play with me. It was only when I reached adulthood I could actually find groups.

I always loved board games, and even when I was about first or second grade of elementary I made my own games.
But the first time I heard about RPGs was in local gaming magazines and my first game was on the forum of the said magazine. I was between first and second year of my high school then.
First time I played IRL was in my first year (yeah, it repeats) of college.
>>50819804
a little as a child but at the time geographical isolation kept me out
things really picked up at around 16
>>50819804
Largely when I was 9 and I read The Hobbit, although even earlier than that I liked movies like The Never Ending Story and Willow, and was a big fan of Star Wars, although for several years I thought Star Wars was a dream that I had had and made up, because when I asked my mom about it as a little kid, wanting to watch it again, she told me I had just imagined it, because she hated the movies and didn't want to sit through them with me. I was about 8 or so when I found out that was a lie, because the movies were shown as a marathon on the sci fi channel with Carrie Fisher hosting them. My parents came up with some bullshit excuse why I couldn't watch it that day, so I just set the VCR to record the whole marathon. Had a cassette tape for years with all three of them back to back and used to watch it over and over.
After that I read lots of fantasy and sci fi novels, mostly old stuff from the 60s-80s that came in a box of pulp books that my uncle gave me. Dune, Lord of the Rings, and a bunch of Andre Norton books and stuff with Frank Frazetta covers, most of it super shitty. I was very much into fantasy and science fiction through my teens, which was when the Star Wars prequels and the Lord of the Rings movies were coming out.
I didn't get into any actual tabletop gaming until much later though. Once I got into college I spent most of my time drinking and partying, and it wasn't until I was in graduate school that I ever played Dungeons and Dragons. I was encouraged mainly by World of Warcraft, which I was playing obsessively back then. Up until I was in my mid twenties, I actually believed DnD was responsible for causing people to have psychotic breaks and commit suicide and what not, because, again, my mother had told me that when I was a kid. Weird as it sounds, I did research on it before ever reading the books, just to check if all that was true.
Best way to implement clothing destruction in rpgs?
I've used a bastardization of the Warhammer d100 systems and simply said certain damage types reduce the AP on the relevant location, tearing away the armour as it does so.
Currently toying with having crits do the same in 5e, although without removing the AC of the target (at least initially).
Any experiences or preferences?
>>50819114
>Best way to implement clothing destruction in rpgs?
Don't.
Unless you're playing some retarded magical realm hentai RP, just don't.

What's the deal with Japanese archery? Does holding your bow like that provide any benefit over the "normal" form?
It's just cooler, homie.
>>50816647
It has benefits for rapidly and accurately firing from horseback iirc, and samurai were horse archers soo
>>50816647
While I expect ceremony is a large part of it, it may also be due to the yumi's structure.
Let me tell you something about Hew-mons, Nephew. They're a wonderful, friendly people, as long as their bellies are full and their holosuites are working. But take away their creature comforts, deprive them of food, sleep, sonic showers, put their lives in jeopardy over an extended period of time and those same friendly, intelligent, wonderful people... will become as nasty and as violent as the most bloodthirsty Klingon. You don't believe me? Look at those faces. Look in their eyes.
Trekkie pls goThat was a good episode, tho

Quark was great but you could tell that the writers had no idea how capitalism actually works.
>>50814977
why would it matter how capitalism actually works? theyre sexist aliens with giant ears which also happen to be erogenous zones. they can have whatever disturbed parody of an economy they want
Take your favorite mythology / legend / fable
Make it AMERICAN
This is now the campaign setting for your next game
What kind of adventures will you have?
>>50813916

South american here:
What does it means to make something AMERICAN?
>people are really fat and clap a lot
>everything is big and fake
Here's a question for you: How do giants and dragons get along?
Depending on your perspective a giant is either a very large human with magic or a human is a very small giant without it. Giants are in every respect more powerful than humans are. Your typical dumb brutish ones are little more than animals and would just be one more prey animal to a dragon. But what about the smart giants?
Both dragons and giants are very magically powerful. Both have innate spellcasting abilities (often elemental) and live a long time. They're huge and need to eat a lot. Competition between the two groups for land they could sustain themselves on would be fierce. Both occasionally love to lord it over the smaller races as well.
Not that they're entirely alone, of course. There's other beings "on their level", so to speak, like colossal sea monsters and other large, magical beasts.
We all know how humans and their cousin races deal with it: They get eaten a lot until a hero shows up and slays the monster. But how do these colossal creatures get along with one another? What would a nation of dragons and a nation of giants have to say to one another and what would be the result of a war between the two?
Take D&D 5e as a setting to establish a baseline but feel free to discuss any universe where lots of colossal beings exist.
I'm also gonna put up some Dragon Vs Giant art because it's pretty cool.
I seriously wonder why I never made a war between dragons and giants a story for a game before.
What is the best system to use for running a Space Western, in the same vein as Firefly or Cowboy Bebop?

The Firefly RPG.

How do you guys think they will handle the next expansion, now that Bretonnia seems to be the last major content update of this cycle?
I guess they'll work on it for a while and then release it.
>>50808730
Either they go west (Ulthuan, Naggarond, Lustria) or east and south (Nehekhara, World's Edge mountains, possibly even Zharr-Naggrund).
The maps will probably be separated Empire style since each expansion is supposed to stand on its own without the other games.
I suppose the next big release is a map expansion (possibly standalone? idr if that was just a rumour) and it's probably going to be elf kingdoms. Going south for tomb kings is also a possibility, but you'd need at least one more faction to add.... ogres maybe?
