So I'm gonna run a dungeon that is no enemies, just traps. And the rolls are gonna be rare; no bullshit "Detect traps". I describe the room and they have to figure it out and disarm it or avoid it by their wits and occasional rolls for things like running or jumping.

My question is: What equipment should I make available to them to buy before I put them in there? What tools or items would be helpful in this sort of situation?

Anything they can think of that's reasonable. If they want to buy a net, steel chain, 20 foot pole, ladder, a thick steel rod 1 foot long, etc. let them. They might surprise you with their creativity.

let them buy any kind of relatively weighty, cheap animal, and as many as they want.

then watch as they release them into your trap dungeon, and enjoy the wacky results

Making a GURPS cyperpunk campaign set in a city like a smaller 40k hive city and wanted some ideas for the many gangs that would inhabit it.

Ethnic Gangs are always a classic.
>>
Cyberpunk 2020 had tons of interesting gangs.

Meanwhile, I'd recommend:
street-racing gangs
specific cybernetic enhancement gangs (eyes all the same, limbs, whatever)
crime-oriented gangs
rape gangs (thats, Star Trek TNG!)
misguided vigilante gangs
"I'm so gothic" gangs
gladiatorial combat gangs
etc
>>
>>50843406
Cybergladiator gangs are my favorite.

So I was planning a planet for 40k based on pretty much every single greek culture ever to exist basically.

>Capital is at the center of a hollowed-out super Mountain à la being Delphi. There may or may not be a rogue psyker here doing stuff and thangs
>Each of the cities is ruled by a clan or Phyle. The ten cities are named after their ruling Phyle.
>People hold Olympics every so often
>Prideful
>Philosphers of War
Etc

I haven't really thought about how I wanted the Military/PDF to be was thinking the PDF would be the equivalent of Hoplites. First sons usually inheriting the job, armor, and las or autogun

What I really would like feedback on is would it be a good idea to include monsters of myth like hydras. minotaurs, Cerberus etc and what not as the result of Tyranid seeding? And the more man-like creatures like the chimera or harpies the result of chaos taint? Or would that make it too hard to develop cities with Super beats roaming?

Also had the idea that "Mount Olympus" is a Mega Temple the Ecclesiarch built after telling the populace:
>"Hey you know all those gods and demigods you worshiped? Yeah, that was the Emperor. They were all the Emperor."

Which caused a war between people who wanted to convert and others who didn't. Thusly leading to bands of marauding heretics.

Does this sound good or is it shit and I should feel bad?

Hey /tg/. I always wanted to create a "wargame" if that is the correct term, basically a game where players select units/heroes/armies/whatever with different stats/abilities and then strategically battle one another. However i've honestly never really played one and I don't know too much about them. So I just want to get some info from you guys and maybe some possible ideas. Ideally I thought of playing the game based on a grid over roll20. So a couple of concepts that have troubled me

>Stat system
What kind of stats are generally attached to units/armies? Hit points? Strength? Defense?
>Abilities
Are active abilities a thing or is it usually only passive abilities? For example could there be a strong AoE missile that can only be launched every so often?
>Point buy system vs equal power
I know most wargames go by points, but what are thoughts on something like 4v4 where every unit has nearly equivalent power?
>Tracking stats/HP
How do you know when the tank is going to blow up? If you have many on the field how can you keep track of everything? This especially comes into play if there is anything like status effects.
>Turn order
How do you know who goes first? Does the first player move their whole army or just fast units?
>Match length
How long do matches usually last?

Anyways hope some of you can answer some of these questions. It'd be real helpful.

Yes, no, maybe so?

Here is what I was thinking. Space magic allows teleportation, duplication, and shortening, rearranging, and stretching of space. Shadow magic allows intangibility, seeing through all shadows, jumping from shadow to shadow, and shadow illusions. Gravity magic would be binding, crushing, changing the falling direction of a person, persons and/or objects, breaking down time and space with nano singularities.

So I figured Gravity rends space, while space moves and change matter, throwing off the shadow user, but I am stumped when it comes to the gravity user. Gravity, when looking at it from a scientific view can do a lot. So could a shadow magic user best a gravity magic, and do you think a space magic user can best a shadow magic user? Please advise.

How about fleshing out magic as a whole instead of creating another bland RockPaperScissors module? Have it be 3 distinct schools of magic, but with no direct "I win" between any two of them. Some spells on one can foil some spells of the other two, and it all works like a division of spell lists.
>>
>>50841259
this desu

Some schools can have general advantage over others, but it shouldn't be universal.

Okay I understand there are rogue traders in W40k but what about corporations?

Do they have fast food chains, supermarkets, satellite TV/Vox services and the like in the Imperium of Man?
9 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
Yes there are fast food chains, there is one that sells grox burgers. Most places dont have anything resembling tv but do have vox broadcasting and music. Some planets have holo vids, the more advanced ones of course.

They do have internet although i think it is a primarily mechanicus thing. Its called the noosphere and basically can be accessed wirelessly. They do have venders and markets not sure about super markets though.

But basically they do have a lot of the modern amenities.
>>
>>50837532
Pages 312-315 of the Dark Heresy Corbe Rulebook (1st edition) go over this. They function similarly to modern-day corporations, but with a stronger emphasis on family and tradition, as the people who run these corporations hail from families that have been doing this sort of thing for hundreds, if not thousands of years.
>>
>>50837532

None of those things are edgy or grimstupid enough, so I'd figure "No" in the current state of the lore. If they do exist they're probably the most depressing things possible, resembling even-less-glamorous North Korean institutions. The codexes and everything to try and drive it into your mind that the world of 40k is as shitty as possible, and that death is often desirable since everything and it's mother will kill you and then torture your soul for eternity, so "comfort" is probably a completely alien concept.
