Imperial Fists are also kinda generic, aside from muh walls. But they're not the posterboys and didn't get the Ward treatment.
Guiliman was a neat Primarch. A bit lacking in raw combat prowess when compared with the other Primarchs, but he was the guy who kept the supply lines up, cared about the average Joe (Not Salamander-tier, but he didn't just slaughter everyone), made good battleplans and so forth. #
Their paintjob looks nice, and I think the Honour Guard looks just awesome.

You'll find comparable systems with less of an anime focus, but if you're planning on running a game based on Gundam, an anime, you'll be hard pressed to find one that does a better job.
The rules are pretty straightforward, and it's easy to learn how to play. The complexity comes into play during combat (but especially mecha-combat), and the only major learning curve or difficulty comes from building mecha; it's something you have to learn to do properly, and you'll only get the hang of it through practice.
All in all? A really solid game for its time, and even today. There's not many alternatives either as far as your prospective game goes.

This is a thread for the subject's question, but also a general discussion upon the aesthetics of all armor in 40k, how it could be improved, what stuff is frankly bad or embarrassingly unoriginal (by even 40k's standards) etc, and for all factions, not just Muhreens. On what marine armor you think is AESTHETICALLY the better default (IE, iconic, catches the eye, looks like nothing else and is semi original, etc), not taking into account the fluff behind armor at all, but just its general appearance.

Personally, I hate MK VII "Aquila" armor with a passion. It looks like a generic ripoff of darth vader, whereas the Corvus helm actually looks incredibly iconic in sci fi. My favorite is MK III just because of the sheer bulk especially on the models, but MK VI jumps out as the "wow I haven't seen that before" armor.

What happened to Games-Workshop? Over the past decade and a half they have actively targetted and threatened their fan base for any potential IP infringement. I understand protecting copyright, but there's a difference between a cease and desist if a for profit project is found vs hobbyists just making fluff up or running a forum to talk together. Librarium-Online having had to deal with this is a great example. As well as other forums being targetted because some users wrote point values and GW sent the litigation team to threaten them.
When did they become so petty? Even that shitty fan made 40k movie was delayed like half a decade because they were being sued and shit. It wasn't even professionals just amateurs with a camera making a shitty fan flick.

The Sundering was caused by pure magical energies of Arcane, so it wouldn't have such effects.
The Cataclysm was caused by Aspect of Earth, so while he caused the destruction, he would not devastate the world that completely, as it likely would affect him just as much.
Not mentioning that setting isn't up to scale, so much that Broken Isles, tiny in the world sense, have areas about as big as Lordaeron.
