Not all the way, although I've played some characters with elements of that.

In a Legends of the Wulin game my PC was a fervently anti-corruption Sword Priest kinda guy, forging his very spirit into a blade and using it to strike down corruption, which he believed had killed his father.

Turns out it was his father who'd been corrupt, and had been killed by his second in command who had been seeking to purge corruption from the organisation- Exactly the same motive he'd been operating under.

Naturally, it turned out he shared his fathers Corrupt bloodline. This was discovered when he lost an arm in a swordfight against a far superior foe, and started manifesting swords of blood and fighting like a demon.

I worried it was a bit overly edgy, but from the reaction of the other players and GM it went down well, and I ensured it lead into character development rather than just brooding- Specifically trying to balance Corruption and Righteousness, to use the strength of his bloodline for good ends. Sadly the game died, but it was fun while it lasted.

Can someone please explain how is it that the Blood Ravens still exist when in all the Dawn of War games you see them dying all the time ?

I remember seeing DoW3 gameplay where a whole bunch of them get exploded and turned into giblets of blood.
Which is another thing, since when where Space Marines so squishy?

Any of /tg/ have experience with systems using resource management as opposed to dice rolls to determine outcomes?

I've been trying to come up with a homebrew system for some time now. While I originally went with a system based on a d12, I got interested in a resource system after reading the rule book for Golden Sky Stories. It seems like a good way to avoid having an otherwise strong character lose out to a low strength character becase of low rolls, and I kind of like the idea of having players pick and choose their battles based on strategic thinking rather than leaving it up to chance.

Are there other systems which use a similar mechanice I can read up on?

Anyone unfortunate enough to buy this? Honestly was so disappointed in yet another 40k game failure that I'm basically giving up on there ever being a game as close to representing 40k as Space Marine did.

It wasn't perfect, but at least when the Orks rushed yout head on you knew they were supposed to because they're Orks. When Genestealers continue to haul ass down a choked corridor despite the first dozen dying to an assault cannon, you wonder where the master tacticians and stealth went from the lore.

don't see what's wrong with it. Looked like a pretty good game with lots of Easter eggs from the lore.

Also Genestealer rushing down corridors is basically all they did in the board game. The point is that others would show up behind you or seperate you from the group, which happens in the game as well.

I'm pissed off that they made the Significant charge so boring though. The Carcinomancy fan school had a much more interesting Significant charge that let you take one whenever you wanted, at the cost of permanently raising your addiction score which basically turns into a stress check whenever you see a smoke.

Doesn't solve the problem that either the rest of the party has their thumb up their butt for several turns, or the solo guy is out of luck (or affecting the game but invulnerable like the sniper).

Well you could just make it a small carriage with a window. As for a ship then just have cameras or old Victorian style gramophone things everywhere depending on the setting.
