Jumpers!
Did you ever make a plan that sounded great, but. . . didn't exactly perform as intended? Tell me your tales of failure.
I know it's customary to take Pokemon as the first jump (supposedly because of some business with PCs and transferring pokemon).
Disregarding that, what's the best first jump to take?
Why aren't more druids seafarers? A druid would be an incredible resource for a sailing ship.
>Create Water
>Goodberry
>Mending
>Alter Winds
>Read Weather
and those are just low level spells. Don't get me started about Control Weather.
I wish I had something more insightful to say, other than this is a great question and a good premise.

Also don't forget transforming into a shark, ripping a hole in enemy ship, getting on ship, initiate onion bear combo
But they arein my setting
>Party is fighting a major demon.
>Due to a extremely long string of bad luck on both sides the encounter lasts a whole thirty-four rounds and 2.5 hours irl.
>All spells are used up on both sides except for limitless casting stuff.
>Party is in worse shape than the demon.
>Fighter pulls out a Teleport scroll and whooshes the party to a safe place.
>GM doesn't give experience for the fight because we didn't win or defeat the demon.
Should my GM have given us a exp reward regardless because of the extended effort of the fight or is he right?
>>51299295
your GM is a shit head and is probably a "B-BUT THE BOOK DIDN'T SAY IT THAT WAY" type of gigantic faggot. He should have dolled out at least half the XP or something. You still were engaged in an encounter and ended it in a way that didn't end in a party wipe. Not that there's much to do about it now, but call him a faggot anyway
>>51299295
You didn't overcome the challenge, you just ran away.
>>51299295
Definitely it was wrong of him to not reward at least some exp to reward the party for having lasted so long and having survived
However, I think its more imperative to tell him that such fights are too taxing and that he needs to tone them down to something that can be resolved more quickly
Thought /tg/ might enjoy this. Stands just under 8 inches tall. I'm still dissolving the support material (dark material). Still need to assemble, I may paint.
Gamebody has some badass mech models ... but they are pricey. Just tossing a hail mary out there ... would anyone know of a free(ish) place to get high quality mech STLs?
Wtf am I going to do with a 8 in atlas and why is this not in BT general?
>>51299562
Use it as a dildo, and I concur?
Well, I was always fan of Dark Fantasy and other type of Dark themes RPG.
I would like to make a thread about it, hidden gems, nice stories and rich scenarios do play Dark Fantasy or just Dark "whitewolfish" games.
Since I wasn't born in a speak-english country, my english sucks and I also lost many many cool books and games. So...
Please, let's talk about grim shit.

That's the spirit!
First post to end with 9 decides the setting
Next five post decide the major factions
Dubs can replace a faction
Quads means we treat a faction like GW treats the imperium
>>51299097
Setting is post-apocalyptic Roman space opera
Anotger bump
>>51299097
One of the factions is living cannons.
I had a really stupid thought in my head, Chaos Daemon Born Tieflings, what would they be like if they were a thing? Would a Tiefling born of a Horror be different from one parented by a Lord of Change? would they develop a culture of their own or be purely slaves of Chaos?
feel free to talk of other hypothetical "X in Y" possibilities, I just had to get the idea out of my head
>>51298911
the Tieflings in warhammer are called beastmen
>>51298911
>what would they be like if they were a thing?
They were a thing.
Archaon, Orghotts Daemonspew, Lhoigor Goldenrod and Kelmain Blackstaff had daemonic parentage.
>>51298911
I would assume they would be lesser daemons or something similar.

What I win?
Deck size is 40 cards. Starting hands are 7 cards. Start-of-each-turn priority is determined randomly at game start.
Each player starts with an Avatar(avatar, strength 5) and five Basic Conduits(conduit, strength 1) on the battlefield, which each have the ability "Your Avatar gets +1 strength". If a player's Avatar is removed from the battlefield or their deck(hereafter referred to as "Archive") is reduced to 0 cards, they lose the game. If you attack or dodge with an Avatar, you must choose a number of Conduits you control equal to the amount of Anchors among permanents you control, then void the rest of your Conduits(move them to your Void zone). Attempting to put a card into your hand when you already have 7 cards will void that card instead.
At the start of a turn, each player draws a card(except on the first turn of the game) and resets their Energy to 3. Whenever a player has priority, they can cast a card, attack with a creature, or put a card from their hand into their resource zone. Casting and attacking go on the stack and can be responded to. Casting or putting a card in the resource zone costs 1 energy. Because each player does not have their own turn, priority after actions defaults to whoever took the last action, but otherwise the stack and priority work like MtG.
Each card has a resource cost and recast cost. There are three card types; Conduit, Minion, and Action, and they can exist in any combination. Minions and Conduits have strength, and Actions have quickcast costs. Each card in your resource zone reduces the resource cost of your cards by 1, and paying a negative cost causes you to gain resource points that can be spent on positive resource costs. You can cast a card from your resource zone by adding its recast cost to its resource cost. This doesn't require energy. Actions can be cast without consuming energy by adding their quickcast cost to their resource cost.
Minions and Avatars can attack any enemy Minions, Conduits, Avatars, or Archives. If an attack resolves against an Archive, a number of cards equal to the attacker's strength is voided from the top of that Archive. If an attack resolves against another Minion or Avatar, the target can tap to avoid a battle, otherwise, they battle. Battles are as simple as higher strength wins, same strengths mutually destroy. A creature stops attacking if it battles another creature, so a small creature can intercept a big creature's attack against a valuable target by attacking the attacker.
Destroyed permanents and non-permanent resolved Action cards go to the Dead Zone(which is different from the Void). This is to prevent "reanimation"-style strategies. There's very likely something I forgot to explain.
Interesting.
Have any mock ups for cards?
Trying to brainstorm up a couple of ideas for a diesel punk setting, and I think I may be onto something. Does anyone have any images for good diesel punk inspired motorbikes, weapons and/or uniforms to share? Anything else is welcome too.
got this from the last dieselpunk thread.

Magic Bass:
When character picks up bass, bass becomes animate long enough to say "drop the bass." After which the character is magically compelled to drop the bass.
>>51299950
But how am I suppose to take Billie Big Mouth to the river if I instantly drop it?
He tells you to do it IN the river. If you fed him more, maybe you'd know that.
So I am new to a DnD, and the group I am joining has chosen a dwarf artificer to be my first character, the groups meeting tomorrow and they said to have a character sheet ready, I don't have the 5e books and googles not helping what do? I dont want to hold up the group tomorrow because were strapped for time.
>>51297149
>So I am new to a DnD, and the group I am joining has chosen a dwarf artificer
Pardon me, but I hate when DM's do this. Had one in the last game I was joining, he wanted me to play stuff I'd never heard of, to counter his best friend player who wanted to mess up the game. I left and never contacted him again, but he messaged me with a synopsis of how the game turned into a colossal fustercluck.

Your class
I'm brand new, what should I start with? Some kind of dnd, pathfinder?
>>51296606
D&D and Pathfinder are among the worst systems to start with.
If you can find a group to join, whatever they're playing is fine.
If you want to learn how to run your own game, Ryuutama (Fantasy, scenario-based) and Apocalypse World (post-apoc, sandbox) have you covered.
Do you think you'd like a game with a lot of dice rolling and numbers to focus on the gaming aspect of your adventure, or simpler mechanics and a focus on the story? Your answer might help the anons give better advice.

Like >>51295538 says, people who suffer health effects from painting are the ones doing it all day every day with harsher chemicals and without protection. Airbrushing fairly light coats of non-toxic acrylics is probably no worse for you than the pollution you breathe when you pop out to the shops.
