Well there's two. One that I love and I go to as often as I can, but has events every night so they can't host our EDH getogethers

Store number 2 is much larger, has a lot more open tables and runs events only a few days a week, but they only really stock cards for standard, and treat us like a huge inconvenience for asking to look at any of their older binders.

We're probably just going to move our EDH games to someone's house given none of us really like it at the second store.

As it turns out, Bonnie's dad is an avid 40k player. What does this bode for Woody, Buzz and the gang?
17 posts and 3 images submitted.
>>
>>51295153

That depends on what faction he plays, and how self aware they are. For instance would the nids behave like nids, or like Rex would they act more like humans who happen to be inhabiting the shape of an animal. Would the space marine think he really was a marine like buzz had, or would he know he was a toy? The minus would be smaller than them in any case, so even if they were raving loonies woody and co should be alright. Unless he had some knights or something. Those are big enough that they would have to worry.

Here's the only way it would EVER be portrayed if it somehow made it onto TV.

>Every Friday, Bonnie's dad (or mom) invites his/her friends over to the basement to play 40k- they use the toys as proxies if they don't have the cash or time to buy and paint models.
>Cut to "imagination sequence" where Buzz, an Imperial Knight proxy, powerfists Rex the Tyranid into Hamm the Maulerfiend, exploding the two, as the Gorkanaut Mr. Potato Head turns around, Orks pouring out of his buttflap, screaming "WAAAAGH" as the players all laugh at the absurdity.
>Meanwhile, Bullseye, Woody, and Jessie are sitting in the toybox, too floppy to position on the tabletop, with Mrs. Potato Head narrating the action when her eye is used as an objective marker.
>After the guys leave, the 40k figures decide to get to know the proxies a bit better.
>Abaddon tries to go for a handshake, but is mildly annoyed when Buzz accidentally snaps his arm off.
>Rex gets glomped by a Carnifex, who has a minor crush on him.
>Buzz is gushed over by the Skiitarii, who marvel at his electronic components.
>The Orks declare Mr. Potato Head the new Warboss (much to Thraka's chagrin) and the Mek gives him a crapton of bits as tribute.
>While initially horrified at the amount of bits strewn around, it is made a bit less grimdark by a reveal that figures only "wake up" when fully assembled.
>They actually meet some of the Army Men, who were used for color tests (and actually look surprisingly good), and they reminisce about the past.
>Eventually, the fact that only some of the toys are being used for the Friday night play sessions drives a wedge between the group.

How will they salvage their relationship in this 1-hour Toy Story special? Tune in on ABC this Sunday for the answer!
>>
>>51295215
>Bonnie's dad keeps the snacks and soda in the basement because he doesn't want Bonnie to get hyped up on them
>The Tyranids, though they're actually not that bad when they get used to being plastic, still have the urge to devour and consume organic material, though they are plastic and can't actually eat
>They constantly try to get into the junk food stash and devour it, but only make a mess in the process
>The Tyrannic War veterans and Deathwatch complain about having to secure the junk food stash and guard it constantly
>Meanwhile, they have to continuously deal with the Deldar stealing Bonnie's Legos and putting them on the floor

>The Huaorani spend so much time climbing up trees their feet have evolved and most have very flat feet. Because of the small gene pool many also have six toes on each feet

This is a reminder that Elves should have weird deformed claw feet since they are always climbing trees.

AI don't have a afterlife, albeit that they are truly immortal, given that their data isn't expunged or destroyed. Their bodies can only be shut down, while their minds live on.
>>
>>51288658
If the robot has a soul, but in relative game terms.

If sentient robots have a soul in your setting, then there's an afterlife for them. If sentient robots don't possess a soul in your setting then there's no afterlife for them.

So assuming that your campaign will have Heaven, Hell, Purgatory, etc. Then after death, you'd only go to an afterlife if you had a soul.

The way I got into it, and got my friends into it, was a long preamble summarising the last million years of Eberron's history.
The line "Thus began the age of demons. This was a bad age to be anything." is by far my favorite quote from that.

The neutral alignments are extremely flexible by definition which is a strong draw especially for weaker roleplayers that may chafe against restrictions
