>What the hell is Ops and Tactics and why did you write this?

Ops and Tactics is/was a rework of the terribly awful modern game D20 Modern that produces enough differences in said game to be considered it's own. It's goal was to do the following things

1. Make Combat more fluid and less rigid like the D20/D&D style outright demands.
2. Make it reflect the real attributes of weapons and armor, in a more realistic sense, while being as playable as possible.
3. Make everything else suck less, at least in my opinion.
4. Introduce a more modular way to handle magic, Incantations/Invoking(My own..thing), Psionics, and equipment. There is also a lot of equipment.

Yes. It does. However, there has been a lot of change to said thing. Some of the notions such as Feats, and skills, I didn't change because I've already changed the actual rules and the effects, so there are no "Newbie traps" anymore.

Advanced arms is my take on futuristic stuff. Had a lot of help with the Oatscrew making this, so shout out to you guys.

It's got plasguns, lasguns, plasma blades, and a host of other new fun weapons and things to mess with.

And just like the core rulebook, it has a very detailed gunsmithing rules for making plasarms, lasarms, and plasma blades.

There's also a very intresting space ship building/combat system that is sort of like a little minigame. More likely than not you can construct your favorite spaceship.

>Modern Magika

Magic splat book that has some(I like to think, anyway) intresting spin on the "fantasy races", as well as how magic is, performed and such. There's also psionics which does pretty much what you expect, and Incantations, which is shadow magic where you create things, summons, ect.

There's also magical equipment in it as well, and black powder guns to enchant with magic, as you can't enchant regular cased and shelled guns with magic, just their cases.

Magic is tied into the skill system, thereby freeing up any other melee/ranged combat the character would like to do. Even though it is a skill, it's by no means weak and can be taken and uses on it's own without devoting to ranged or melee combat. If you wanted to. But you don't have to.

Do you plan on playing generic Nomads or Corregidor? Because the answer changes depending on this.
But you can never go wrong with an Intruder with a heavy weapon. And Lupe is already there to provide smoke for him. That is unless you want to play a heavy TAG.
For generic Nomads, Interventors. For Corregidor, Bandits and Morans or Mobile Brigada for the Brigada Pain Train.

You should check the tactica in the OP.

The Icestorm half is 3 Algauciles, 1 Spektr, 1 Grenzer, 1 Brigada and 1 Healer. The Algauciles and the girl with the dragon (Lupe) as well as Brigada are all Corregidor, which is why I'm asking. Algauciles and Lupe work great when linked. But if you want to use everything you have, go for vanilla Nomads. Only the Healer is Bakunin.

Moiras and Riot Grrls are much better when playing Bakunin than in vanilla due to the link team rule. Read up on it on wiki. However playing Bakunin means you would lose access to Brigada, Algauciles, Grenzer and some more units. Both Moiras and Riot Grrls can work for low point games though.

As for the Intruder, it's a matter of preference. The HMG one is more aggressive and the Sniper more defensive, although you can still use him to great effect in active turn (and you have the bonus of outranging nearly everyone). The Grenzer works similar to a sniper Intruder and I recommend using him at first to get a good grasp of the rules. Unlike Intruder, Grenzer can also bring a Missile Launcher though, good if you find yourself facing a TAG or Achilles.

Note that Infinity communities are usually lax about proxying, especially to new players. So no one should be angry if you use Algauciles as Moderators or one Intruder as the other. And Grenzer does not even have any other sculpts, so you can use him as any kind of Grenzer.

I've got a thing for fortifications. I guess it's a combination of architectural skill, out-witting your era's battle style, often scenic location and general vibe. In the past I've posted this on /b/, but some anon said that the following collection would be appreciated on this board. I have no idea if that's true, but I'll upload a modest test batch of pics from my folder (~250) with in my opinion only the most impressive fortifications from around the globe.

Requesting artwork of a character I'm playing in a "mercs in Africa" game. Pic related is the gear, only missing the fact that she's wearing a rugged watch, has some sort of ballistic goggles strapped around her helmet, and has various tattoos on her arm (Artist's choice on the design, I haven't thought of one as of yet). Oh, and the fact that it's a woman in her mid-20s, of course.

I can't exactly change the picture while I'm at work, but if one could replace the boots with black leather jungle boots and the gloves with black nomex ones, as the anon so kindly corrected me on last thread, that'd be super great.

I hope this request isn't too /k/ for anyone around here, and massive thanks to anyone who wants to take the request.

Milestones, really. For the first few levels, make milestones an automatic levels, then reduce them to halves, quarters and eights of a level. Easier than trying to count exp in thousands, just write the fraction you have got until the next level.

The Akaran Resurgence
The Resurgence:
The Akaran Resurgence is the name given to a group of star systems. Numbering in the hundreds, it is ruled by the daemon king Urdhanvana. It is located at the north-centre of Ultima Segmentum. A massive warp storm engulfs it entire. In response of the raiding armies coming from it the Imperium created the Werken Protectoral. The Protectoral is a special coalition of 20 sectors. These both forces wage war against each other ever since. Akaran is a world resurrected a living testament to the Great Undivided: The spoils of the never-ending wars of the Resurgence are brought there. Each day 16.777.216 lives are sacrificed. Each soul liberated honors one teaching of the Dhaswal. The holy book of the Akaran Resurgence written by Urdhanvana Himself.

Population:
The Resurgence is special for the low number of daemons and marines, the majority of the Resurgence massive population are mostly humans or mutants. While there is only a nominal xeno presence in the resurgence, mostly the hated Nlei-Yith, the resurgence casts a shadow in which darkness xeno empires are able to thrive. This shadow is called Taalfluch.

- The Daas-Pol are the human followers of the Primordial Truth who live in the Akaran Resurgence. They follow Chaos Undivided or one other of the powers exalted by their own bidding. Urdhanvana keeps his distance and led them rule themselves. Mostly that means that one warlord rules over a region. The Daas-Pol can be divided to four groups. The city-people, the kingdom-folk, the nomad-warriors and war-disciples. Of greatest importance are 108 worlds of the Ever-Growing Wave. Each has a portal to the Akaran itself.
- The Zay-Baya are the chosen warriors of the World Teacher. Every warlord pays tribute to Urdhanvana, some feel called by his might. Led by the Eight Sons of Teaching: Ahezan the Cruel Knight, Iouyhth and Keighort the Twin Light of Xohof, Qichidn the Spear of Outer Heaven, Teuwehrt the Ever-Wheel, Eliorute the Collector,Wer the Steel-Pain and Tieran the Blessed Desolation; the Zay-Baya is the army of Urdhanvana.
- The Daas-Tama are mutants, slaves and beasts living under the sun of Chaos. They are seen as inferior to the Daas-Pol for they do not choose to be enlightened by their conscious will. They live either in giant work-camps or in giant hordes.

- The Hajan are the traitor forces not native to the resurgence. Legionaries, refugees and mercenary are found in this category. Most are the last scum but some are elevated by the World Teacher to serve Him. They can be found under the Banner of the Zay-Baya.

History:
The origin of the Akaran Resurgence is bounded with the ascension of the World Teacher. Urdhanvana was born in the world which later became Akaran. The original name was removed from the annals of the story. He was born mortal as the king of the second continent of this world at the Age of Strife before the Great Crusade.
His rule was just and good. In his 50th year, however, he decided to resign from his rule and look for the cosmic truths in the highest mountains of the world. His subjects and family lamented much over the decision of their beloved king who has led them through the most cruel wars and crises.
In total isolation he spent 90 years meditating. There he was enlightened by the outer gods and the Great Undivided. He went down the mountain and began to preach his teaching. These were collected into the Dhaswal.
His great-grandson who was in power did not believe his return, for his age must be impossible high. He denied him. The wise man who would become Urdhanvana saw it necessary to overthrow his descendant. He took command of his people and conquered his world.
The people of his world united, he began a legendary sermon. He spoke to them for 45 days. He spoke how to set them free from the shackles of the materium.
They planned to enlighten mankind entire and to ascend all together in infinity. His people organized themselves in an army called Zay-Baya.
Opening portals to other worlds, they went to nearby worlds. Many heroes were born and died at the time of the Ever-Growing Wave. At the world of Nav, his 108th conquered world. Urdhanvana became. Not a son of the exalted powers but a son of the Great Undivided itself.
At this time he was still not the god he would later become. His armies marched under the banner of the Star to victory from victory. Centuries passed and the empire of the World Teacher grew strong and numbered in the thousands.

Alright, /tg/. I'm making an enemy for Numenera based on a short description one of my players gave me and I want to know if this sounds balanced:

Instead of having one initiative roll, she has two; she can act twice per round instead of once.

Her melee weapon is electrified, dealing 2 points of armor ignoring damage (characters have to roll to resist it)

If they fail to resist it, they are stunned and lose a turn, if they succeed, they get negative 3 to all rolls for that round.

She's also fast, hitting her requires a roll of 12 at least (keep in mind you don't add numbers to your rolls in Numenera)

Every 2 turns, she can teleport in a flash of lightening, dazing everyone within 100f due to the flash and bang. On top of this, teleportation doesn't cost an action, so she can teleport behind you and supprise attack you (+3 to the difficulty to defend and another +3 because your dazed)

Alternatively, she can fire lightening that chains to everyone within 10f from the previous target, and dealing damage that needs to be resisted or you're going to be stunned (Similar to the melee attack). This uses up the same charge as the teleportation.

Health is 9 and armor blocks 2 points of damage.

Keep in mind that my party is 4 members strong at tier one.

I actually made an error, the NPC is level 3 for most things, but level 4 for attack, and level 5 for defence.

Running is always an option in Numenera, they'll also have at least 8 ciphers in total.

I was considering that, but that would mean that teleportation is only really effective if all the PCs roll badly on both initiatives. Maybe I'll keep it to to actions per turn.

Im have a massive fetish for revolvers and have always like using them when available in systems. But up until now that has been a purley asthetic choice. what sort of minor stat changes would be good for making revolver versions of other weapons (like blasters in star wars and bolters in 40k)?

Bung a point of encumbrance on for the weight of the cylinder, and reduce the ammo count.

Cannot be fitted with a silencer due to the chamber not being sealed, Resistant to mechanical failure due to the simplicity of the mechanism.

Also, "Revolver Blasters" make as much sense as a screen door on a submarine.

There's no point in putting a cylinder on something that fires hot plasma from a power pack.

If you just wanna say your Blaster has a long thin barrel and a bulbous battery pack that makes it look like a revolver, then there's no reason to tweak the rules at all really.

Plasma sipho... nevermind. Use cover, a LOT of cover, try to get his psykers. As a guard player there is one thing that kills the executioner, namely killing the psyker. Cant reroll the ones. Try using some AT too, it never hurts. Nurgle Melta bikers are really good for that.
