This is the Film General Thread, aka FGT.
This is where you can post your film photos without flushing them down the recent photo toilet.
>just posting in the fgt doesn't make you gay, unless you shoot Fujicolor Industrial 100
It is ok to ask about film gear in this thread.

If you could have one fixed lens film camera what would it be? I like compacts but I'm not about to shell out 300 for a klasse/yashica/contax/hexar. Mju is nice but I like aperture priority.

Why are CCD sensor images so comfy, bros?
I have never seen colors like this on CMOS. Looks a lot like film. Now i have the eyes to appreciate such look, but that Canon G10 is long gone.

I think for the focus to even be on the subject here, you needed extra light and preferably a wide aperture for more shallow DoF.
But I'm looking at the backyard and window frame. Not at him... or her.
I think you could put that girl in front of anything, anywhere, frame it any way you want, miss focus and clip highlights, and people would still love the photo.

Is there a photo from known source of a black hole? It should be scientific data and the image made with optics.
>>2963463
yep, there's a ton of them in the hubble deep field photo
i also understand that this photo cant be made because it is impossible for ligth to escape, but it can be area there scientists think that there is a black hole
>>2963465
it has to be exact spot where scientist thinks there is a black hole, like exact pixel
and some Trnava and Vienna too.

So why should I get a camera if my smartphone already takes pictures. I'm afraid if I had a big camera at the club or what not people would think I was weird.
if your worried what total strangers will think of you photography isn't for you.
Get yourself an 8x10 setup and shoot at the club, bitches gonna be on you dick like white on rice
You shouldn't.

Should I get a better camera?
I got my first DSLR about a year ago and have really gotten into photography. I currently have a Nikon D3200 and was thinking about getting a D810. I was told that it wouldn't really effect the quality of my photos unless I wanted to make a poster or something large scale. Are photos much sharper with a better camera or am I fine with my D3200?
>>2961638
What lens are you using?
What kind of spec make you feel restrained using your d3200?
You won't take better photos. Your photos might be sharper IF you're competent at using the camera settings. Build quality will be in a different league.
On the web, I would bet that I could take the same photo with a d3200 and d810, with the only exceptions being shallow DOF and uncompressed 4K wallpapers.
>>2961642
I am currently using the 2 lenses that came with the camera. The D810 has better low light performance and some other higher stats. I just don't know if it is worth upgrading to. I feel like I have a pretty good understanding have how to use my camera, but honestly I'm still fairly new to photography.
I'm new to photography and have been looking around for a camera. I am mainly interested in portrait photography, but I also want something that's at least somewhat versatile. I want something that I wont grow out of too quickly. I've been looking at pic related, would /p/ recommend it? If not, what would you guys recommend?
>>2960843
Sony a7ii
Everyone grows out of crop within the first month, unless you like soft images with shitty bokeh. Also, a mirrorless will help you learn infinitely quicker as the viewfinder shows exactly what your image and exposure will look like.
Another thing to be wary of on dslrs with normal viewfinders is that they can't focus accurately on lenses faster than f2.8. Photography becones an exercise in frustration
>>2960847
Focusing screen. Google it.
>>2960847
Thanks for the help, I'll keep that in mind, but the Sony a7ii is way out of my price range.
