I'm kinda new to photography. I had classes 3 years ago and I just bought a Canon T5 because it was dirt cheap where I got it and I'm poor.

I know drawing hands and feet are very difficult, as there's so many bones, poses and other elements. They make great dramatic subjects though.
Has anyone had much experience with trying to capture fine details like shadows, wrinkles, dirt, scars and the like?
What makes photos with hands and feet as subjects cool to you? Do they need to look sexy? Do they need to be b&w for dramatic notes? Is a shame holding a pen prettier than a hand holding a lit cigarette?

I am just getting into photography as a hobby. I have a Cannon Rebel EOS T3. I am also currently learning how to touch up photos in photoshop and will soon begin learning Lightroom. I am trying to improve myself in every aspect. I am an Architecture student so much of my photography is focused on buildings and objects, however, I would also like to become proficient at landscape photography. Any tips/comments/advice would help!

Buy a book, learn the basics of exposure and composition.
Go out and take some pictures for a few weeks, make sure to learn from your mistakes.
Post your shit tier photos to the recent photo threads. Have people tear your images to shreds, learn from their critique
Repeat until your photos arent as shit tier anymore
Return to /p/ every now and then to shill work
Leave /p/ because its shit tier 99% of time and most advice will be from delusional amateurs

Is urbex really just a contest to find the most ruined, destroyed and run-down place?

I like to go to high buildings in just see the view, for me it's not about abandoned places it's more about cool places that u don't see very often
How does /p/ feel about this photo?
>>2964200
i like it enough, it's a little bright for the tone it seems to be going for though. i'd turn the whites and / or highlights down or add some vignette because the bright sky with the black tree limbs on the left is terrible visual noise.

Is this shopped? I can never get the moon that big with things like trees or buildings in the foreground in focus...
>>2965218
You can make the moon look bigger with the foreground in focus by using a longer lens, but it could be edited. Results are inconclusive with this low quality JPEG.
>>2965222
>You can make the moon look bigger with the foreground in focus by using a longer lens
How? With my 18-135mm lens, if I have the foreground fully focused like that, the moon comes out like a dot.
>>2965231
You have to back up more. Standing farther away from your foreground subject will help compress the distance between the foreground subject and moon for the lens.

I took up Photography as a hobby, but I always just used my phone, but I decided to take it more seriously and invest in my first DSLR + lens. I'm mostly keen on people, astrophotography, and low-light conditions.
Can anyone recommend a good first DSLR and lens that would suit my needs? I've been thinking of pic-related

A camera
A hipster camera
You have a Polaroid One Step Land Camera.
It's a lazy cash-in on the instagram craze. The problem is, they forgot to make film for it, so you have to buy Impossible Project film, which is terrible and insanely expensive.
