Why do you have a flatbar road bike if you already own a proper road bike? Genuine curiosity.

They're both proper road bikes, Anon. ;_;

But the flatbar one has full fenders and is equipped for wet weather riding. The other isn't, and has HED hubs that aren't really water proof.
Plus the flatbar bike is great for just cruising around the city and taking in the sights with a more relaxed riding position. Plus it's heavy so good for muscle building during the Winter.

Ultimately, though, it's the bike that made me fall in love with cycling and had it before I ""upgraded"" to the more efficient road bike, to cover more ground and go faster.

Boy those are some narrow drops, I like them.
Also should probably get fatter tires and remove the Garmin on your flat bar, if it's supposed to be for comfy cruising.
Here's mine before I cut the steerer

comfy/10

The blue looks really good with the orange. You've got a good eye, anon.

OP here and I've set up a page on my Garmin specifically for cruising that shows no speed or heart rate or anything that could distract me from the joy of simply riding. Just shows time and temperature and basic stuff.

I choose the jekyll over the trigger because I mainly road bike and wanted a fun bouncy bike rather than a more speed orientated one. The two travel modes for the rear shock is much better than a traditional lock out. On smoother, rolling trails or climbs I leave it in short travel (95mm-20% sag) mode then use the long travel (160mm-37.5% sag) when riding steep down hill type tracks. Being able to independently adjust the sag between the two modes allows the geometry of the bike to be changed with the flick of a lever which is cool as fuck in my opinion. Bottom bracket wore out after 3 months Which I replace with a praxxis unit, brake pads, cassette and chain as well which i replaced like for like. I also fitted a non stealth reverb which is a must for this bike. It has covered over 3000 off road, muddy miles now and has been plenty reliable. I love the triple ring up front as well, on most rides I use all three front rings and it works great, no dropped chains although the outer rings looks a bit chewed up now from the occasional impact it works fine.

tldr: Good all round bike that will do a bit of everything reasonably well, from XC to DH

PROLOGO Onetouch Gel.

It's really comfy and has quite a bit of grip, even with plain leather gloves. But after I bought new gloves, which have rubber on palm, the tape has been coming apart near the hoods at a fairly rapid rate. So for that reason I'm not sure that I can recommend it.
Though I did put it on in 2013 so 3+ years service life probably isn't too bad.

Souonds good! The Saint Bon Chien is definitely not for me, I dislike the vinegary taste and much prefer their other beers, especially the Bats. I didn't know they exported outside of Switzerland at all, but it seems they actually did some kind of world tour after winning some award, and that many people enjoy their beers worldwide!
To keep this slightly /n/, how do you transport crates of beers? Using panniers with loose bottles is the most stable due to the lower cog, but having the box intact is often pretty useful, however the cog gets quite high and transporting more than 25L on top of the rack gets difficult as soon as you slow down...

I don't understand what the point of this is. Your legs are going to be out further than the handlebars so it does nothing for clearance.

Narrow handlebars are useful for filtering through traffic since the bars are often at the same height of side mirrors. Not THAT narrow, though.
