I've been watching a bunch of youtube reviews, seems most people like this gun for the price. I'm looking to get either an AK or an AR soon. Was looking at this and the Colt 6920, but I think I'm leaning more towards the AK.

Any good/bad stories about the C39V2?

I was in your spot last year. Couldnt pick which I wanted for my first rifle.

I'd go with the AR. Less recoil, more accurate, and so easy to install aftermarket parts. I'd recommend getting a more mid tier one, like a Daniel Defense v11. Yes it's expensive, but it'll last you many years.

I own one.My complaints are that the wood is soft as fuck. Some metal mags lock up if you pull towards your self while removing them so its best to knock em out with other mags.I do like the paddle release the triggers are pretty nice. They have hardly any sharp edges which is quite nice. Also they say it can use most akm furniture with out modification that is 100% horse shit.I spent two hours fitting my Romanian laminate set to mine, the only thing i did not have to fit was the dam upper hand guard.Lastly i hate the lack of bayonet lug but that's a personal complaint.Over all id recommend one if you HAVE to have a milled gun or just cant find anything else. There are better guns for less but the c39v2 is a good rifle for the money.

I was also thinking of buying a 10/22 if it matters. 10/22 for cheap target shooting and AK for fun/just to have it.

My fiance liked shooting a 22 cal cowboy looking revolver we rented at the range. Any suggestions for a good one of those? It was a really fun gun.

Why is 40. so universally ridiculed on /k/?

You get nearly the same muzzle energy as a 45. with significantly more capacity. And much more energy than a 9mm with a pinch less capacity. It seems like a good compromise.

Is it because muh capacity and muh stopping power fags just can't get along?

>>
>Is it because muh capacity and muh stopping power fags just can't get along?
that's exactly why. Why compromise when you get pick the side that you prefer?
>>
I thought it's recoil was a bit excessive for what it was. Felt very "snappy".
More recoil than a 9 with less capacity.
Does not seem much better than either 9 or 45 anyway.
>>
.45's difference in muzzle energy is negligible over 9mm. It's different, but not enough to make a notable difference in lethality against a human target.

If you want a .45, that's still cool. You can have your reasons for that. But you gain nothing from picking .40. It loses whatever advantage .45 might have given you, while still having nothing over 9mm. You sacrifice the capacity of the 9, lose the perceived oomph of the .45, gain snappier recoil and increased wear.

It's not a compromise as much as it is a lose-lose, you're taking the worst of both calibers instead of the best.

I recently purchased a Kershaw Cryo II. I read good reviews, liked the specs, so I bought it and I enjoy it.

Looking for another knife recommendation. Nothing too expensive or fancy, just something standard. Preferably with a flipper and clip. Something durable and reliable. Thanks.

If you like kershaw, buy American kershaw. Ken Onion line, such as the leek, is an excellent choice, the skyline is another decent choice. What's your budget?

Above $100 is a bit much, but if you really recommend it, then I'll bite. Preferably above 30 but below 70.

I keep my Walther in a small carry lockbox for when I travel. Until recently, there was some light powdery rust on top of the metal parts of the grips. I took some 0000 steel wool and got that nasty off and oiled it back up. I take care of it regularly, but sometime between when I last took a long trip (Approx two weeks) on the road, the rust showed up. I honestly don't remember if it was like it before, but I don't remember this much lack of bluing around the grips. The pistol is from like the early 60's.

Any better way to get the deeper rust out of here?

A weak ammonia bath should do the trick.

The key is to make sure to keep it around 96-99 degrees.

I'm unfamiliar with this. Googling "Ammonia bath gun rust" doesn't help me out. Mind explaining?

Noguns here, is it legal to own a genuine M4? And I don't mean "you can own an AR which is almost the same thing", I mean technically speaking, can I own a legit M4? From what I understand it would only be possible for a gun dealer to get one?

Hey /K/, I'm heading to a gunshow this weekend and I'm looking to pick up an AK of some sort. Can someone red pill me on best brand/Dont touch it with a rusty stick brand? Budget is $800, would like to stay below for ammo/magazines. 7.62x39 only, not interested in 5.45 or any snowflake model. Secondly, which magazines are good to go? I heard magpul was shit but haven't looked into any of it.

Tl;DR Need gud Eh K fortay sehvun, which one is best one.

Avoid RAS47, they're handbombs.

WASR-10/63 is fine.
Yugos are fine.
AMDs are fine (though loud).

Buy a VEPR for 700 and convert it over time. Costs like 30 bucks to convert it to take standard AK mags.

I really tried to become a glock fan boy. Living in Colorado I wanted to get a 9mm after acquiring my CCW but after trying a glock 19 at the range twice, it just feels like shit.

Is it weird that I'm just not comfortable with anything but a revolver? I spent most time shooting revolvers growing up and own 2, but I honestly don't think I'll ever be comfortable carrying a glock.

Is there something wrong with me, am I an idiot for not going for as much capacity as possible?

Will the dindus get me unless I own a problem solver?

>Is it weird that I'm just not comfortable with anything but a revolver?
No, you just aren't comfortable with automatics yet.
>Is there something wrong with me, am I an idiot for not going for as much capacity as possible?
Maybe a little touch of the Autism. But you may be able to learn, try other automatics based off what you didn't like about the glock. You might just like the 17 better, or a sig, or an m&p, or just need to handle autos more.
>Will the dindus get me unless I own a problem solver?
ANY gun is better than no gun but some guns are better than others.
>>
>>30785115

Carry what you like. They do make revolvers with up to 8 rounds in capacity in the most glorious of caliber, the 357 Magnum.

If you practice with speed loaders and have a couple with you, you should be fine.

I am currently stationed far away from home and I dont want to bring my AR to my base because I like to use it every time I go on leave (twice a year kek) and I dont want to deal with all the transfer and shipping bullshit. I currently own a glock 17 but I really want to own something more.. special around here. Seeing that the ak-74 is "similar" to the AR I think an ak-47 platform would be a better choice, especially since I want to learn a new system.
