Last week Obama passed an executive order that redefines gunsmithing -- nearly any kind of modification to a firearm -- as firearm manufacturing.
From what I can tell, this that nearly all modifications done to a weapon and even producing one ITAR item now means you can be considered in business rather than hobbyist.

Sorry if you guys already talked about this last week I've been out. I'm also not the most knowledgeable about this, so curious if other kommandos can shed some light about what this means.
and I shall ignore and do whatever I want
>>30799051
So is turning an 80% into 100% illegal without a gunsmithing registration according to this?
>>30799112
I think 80% receivers are exactly what this is targeting. Your gun smith has to pay the tax to do it legally as far as I can tell.

long time lurker first time poster here. I will soon be moving from no-fun Massachusetts to Atlanta, GA and I am very interested in becoming acquainted with and knowledgeable in weapons. Google has provided a wealth of information but I am hoping someone familiar with GA law can spell it out as simply as possible for me. I come from a place where guns are a pain in the ass to get and regulated more than pretty much anything else so this is a weird thing for me to consider.
It seems that all I need to purchase a weapon in GA is a GA license. If I understand correctly I don't need a permit to carry concealed either. Is this true?
Another question for anyone willing to help a bro out: What's a good starter pistol? Something that packs enough punch to be useful but is reliable and easy to maintain.
Thanks to anyone willing to shed some light for me.
(I will take safety classes and avoid being a dumbass. Don't you worry)
You need a GWL to cc legally.
No Georgia Weapons License needed to open care rifles, carbines, and shotguns.
Georgia Weapons License needed to open or conceal carry a pistol.
You can carry pretty much anywhere. Except federal buildings, past security check points, hospitals, and schools.
County probate court issues GWL. It is going to cost you up to $100 in various feeds. Fulton and Dekalb county take the maximum 60 business days to mail you your GWL. All other counties will get it too you in a couple weeks.
If you have a GWL, you can purchase firearms with out a background check. Just fill out the 4473, show your GWL, and you are good to go.
All NFA items are allowed.
No stupid restrictions or registration.
Get a Glock 19.
Never give Adventure Outdoors your business.
It is illegal for the police to detain and question you, to see if you have a GWL.
Vote Trump, because recent poll shows that he barely has a lead.

Ignore the fact that the idea of there actually ever being an M16A5 is near impossible.
If the US was to commission a M16A5, what changes would they make? What changes would you want them to make?

I cant decide between getting an FR8 or Ishapore Enfield. Does /k/ have any experience with either of them?
Fr8 is cooler, 2a1 less expensive
>>30798999
Nice trips, get the Ish
FR8 will be in better condition and quality unless it spent the past 5 years at the bottom of the ocean
After the US backed coup attempt and following anti-coup purge, Turkish Air Force recalls +500 retired/discharged/resigned air force pilots who currently serve in the civilian aviation business.
So /k/, can these people be effective as normal fighter pilots again after not flying with a fighter jet for more than +5 years?
Just like riding a bike
>>30798981
pic related, he was an F-16 pilot, he left the airforce due Gulenist pressure became an airliner pilot. Pilots like him are being recalled for duty.

That's cool, you get to fly sweet fighter jest for a few more years and then fuck off to the civil airliners.
List gear and gun accessories needed to get out of the fight alive. The Little Things Edition

Fine, don't get a light. I don't give a shit.
Have fun turning on a light switch if the power is out.
>>30798996
This. Recoil buffer pads are bad.
If you're going to do anything, get an extra power wolff recoil spring.
Who would win in a scenario where a militia used clean illegal guns to kill gang memebers?
Targeting drug houses and waterboarding addicts until they give up their drug contacts then waterboarding them until they give up their list of contacts to accurately assest a network of gang members and quickly eliminate them. The militia has a serveral house meetings a week to plan and stategize vs gangs which would become hyper mobile and have access to more illegal weapons than the militia.
Who wins?
The gang is from the inner city and has ambush style tactics deployable when a gun fight breaks out.
Depends on how much damage the militia can do in the opening days before the cartel can really ascertain what's going on.
>>30798890
The gangs win because their life IS the streets, whereas the militia has a 9 to 5 to worry about
>>30798890
What would happen is the cartels would use informants to locate a few of the militiamen. Then abduct their families, torture them in the most possibly horrible manner, or even use terrorist tactics like car bombings.
Cartels are merchants. They thrive on degeneracy. Let them build a world where not only the degenerates can enjoy drugs but also be more safe than the righteous people, and they win by default.
If you want to wage war on drugs, you have to use the same level of violence, the same tactics, and even more. You have to become the devil if you want to defeat him.
Which is why war on drugs never happened.
The fall of civilization lies here. Kindness is meekness.
Gonna bubba the fuck out of one of my Marlin rifles. Cutting the stock off and adding a side folder stocks I'm in the process of making. Thoughts on this??

The Mystery Jet that i'm thinking of has the cockpit between 2 semi circular jet intakes but, unlike the Harrier, the cockpit is actually between them, not above them. Is there such a thing? I don't think its a Mig or an Su or anything currently in service.
