Looking into getting my first handgun. I've tried 22's, 9mm.40s as well as .45s

I settled on a 9mm and with a budget of $5-600 I'm trying to figure out whether I should go with a HK VP9, Walther PPQ M2, or a CZ85 (I'm a lefty)

Anyways, any advice from you guys would be greatly appreciated, need something I can afford on a student budget that can be a workhorse, and stand the test, should feces come flying.

Give me a legitimate reason why the Glock 19 is a better weapon than the Beretta 92FS

Okay listen here bub.

They are different weapons. One is a polymer bodied striker fired handgun with a reputation for reliability and high capacity.

The other is hammer fired all metal handgun with a reputation for great OTB accuracy and military-worthy reliability.

One has a shitty one slot rail the other is either railless or has a full rail
>>
Da/sa is personal preference buuut....
>much Heavier
>Much bulkier
>Most come with slide mounted safety
>Polymer frame is more durable than aluminum

I'm probably missing something
92FS only has better aesthetics

A gun.

That would be ideal but it's not possible at this juncture.

If you have a Rural King in your area, they have a 175 lb. "Jaguar" crossbow that I bought for my daughter. She's about to start her fourth turkey season hunting with it and zero problems. Just get carbon fiber bolts and decent broadheads - the ones supplied are target practice aluminum cheapos.
She is a slim teen but can load it with a cocking rope. Once we sighted it in and got good bolts, she easily hits soda-can sized targets at 30-40 yards with 5 out of 6 shots. Even at that distance, they tend to bury themselves completely into a hay bale and partially through the back, so we swapped to a better target to avoid damage to the fletchings.
I had planned to "upgrade" her to a "better" bow, but see no reason to now. Many of the more expensive bows are also a little heavier, she likes this one better.
Remember to wax the string and rails often - we usually do every few shots.

Hey /k/ I'm looking for a modern 30 cal carbine that I can put a suppressor and optics on, any recommendations?

That's 300 blackout. Now git.
>>
>>30778257
An AR in 300BLK or possibly 7.62x39 is going to be a more functional buy than a reproduction M1 Carbine.

The Mini 30 is also an option, but the cost to performance isn't going to compare favorably to an AR once you start buying mags and shit.

I have used 7.62x39 ARs that were fine, but the mags are often shit in anything using a standard lower and the lowers that accept AK mags are pricey.
>>
>>30778257
I bought an Inland M1 (the newer ones they make now but same WW2 spec)

And a Sage EBR Stock

then threaded the barrel and am waiting for paperwork on an AAC Suppressor. Also a T2 is in the mail.

Its been a pretty fun project

For a few extra dollars you can get something nitrided which will offer longer life than that unlined barrel.
>>
>>30778164
I had one come in a rifle kit, it was fairly well done, with the exception of the gas port not being drilled through.

It is inferior to the Wilson in my Rock River and on par with the other two lower end barrels I have used in builds.

I have a decision to make. I left New York 3 years ago for a free state. My current job keeps getting worse and worse in all aspects. Management told us not to expect anything better for atleast 6 months. I just received a job offer in Albany with better benefits and a $20000 pay increase in a specialty I've been trying to break into. If I kept it for two years, it would greatly improve my chances of becoming a flight nurse in Maine or New Hampshire.

I love guns, I love shooting. What would you guys do?

Move to Albany, bring all your guns.

Kill anyone that tries to take them from you.

then why not wait for two years to have your guns?

also, bring all your guns to albany, and try not to get into trouble.

Lets build my first AR /k/.
Desirable traits:
>20" barrel
>fixed stock
>Iron sites

I like the look of the M16A4, No need for the rails I won't put much on em and I could always upgrade to quad rails or whatever later. I know floating barrel or hand guards or whatever is much better for accuracy but I don't think its worth the money I wont be able to push the rifle to its accuracy limits.

For Iron sites, I like the look of the detachable carrying handle with the triangular barrel mounted front site but its not a requirement.

Cheap because I can build a nicer one later in life after I really figure out what I like, and I wanna throw as many dollars at ammo as I can because 1000 rounds of training on iron sites is better than 50 rounds of training through a $2000 raifu. At least at my current level of experience.

Pic related; inspiration

Is there any real, discernible difference between POGs and regular infantry during extended eras of peace time? From what I understand infantry types believe they are better than everyone else for two reasons, one being that they put themselves in harms way by volunteering for combat and the second being their stricter PT standards. Now that they are no longer being deployed to combat zones (excluding SF) the only thing they can really pride themselves on is their PT, but I've met some ripped POGs as well as some scrawny grunts so that seems arbitrary. So, what's the real difference between a POG and a grunt during this time in between conflicts?

Try comparing a 'rippped' pog and a scrawny grunt in a field exercise with a 12 mile hump 80 pound load in 100 percent humidity after completing a 3 day PB operation and see what you get.

I just turned 21 and I'm looking to buy a handgun. I prefer handguns with wooden grips, older styled. I really want a 9mm because I do want to carry but I also want to go to the range often. I'm leaning towards a CZ 75. I figured I could make a post here and get any opinions you guys had on the CZ 75 or anything similar to them.

Thanks
