I don't know what to do, Should I use my bakes at the range? or are they too precious to use and should I just use steel mags?
Should I bring like 4 mags and use those and reload them at the range or should I bring how many mags I want to shoot?

How would one go about sharpening one's fingers for use in hand-to-hand and hand-to-man combat?
Any stories or tips sharpening them? How about hardening them?
Historically hands and fingers have proven the deadliest of weapons, so sharpening them should be a first priority of any weapons man, I should think.

/k, help me decide on a new, full size 9mm handgun.
My only requirements are to be under $800 (after-tax), and must be a 9mm.
After doing a lot of research online, most people mention glocks, cz75's, m&p pro's, etc..
I went into the gun store yesterday with the intention to buy the CZ 75 SP-01. The guy working there told me he'd go with the XDM 5.25 over the CZ. After showing me the gun, I was so impressed that I'm not sure now what to buy.
What do you recommend /k?

This is the CZ I was first considering. Picking it up at the store, it was about twice as heavy as the *larger XDM.

well it is all steel, if steel frame is your thing cz75 is a really good choice. if not, all of the polymer frames are more of less than same, they are all equally reliable(sans VP9) and it's down to preferance, which one feels better in your hands.

So I just ordered my first gun. Pic related is what I bought in 5.56. I know this might sound retarded to some of you but I really want a red dot sight on it. The idea is to be able to shoot it both short/medium range and long range, in my experience i am not too fond of magnifying scopes. What is the cheapest one I can get that will serve me well for recreational plinking/shooting?

A 1-6. Optic is always a good option . 1 x for short range 6x is good for 500yrds

Thinking about doing some STALKER challenges or maybe just some friendly overnight urban exploring meetup sometime before the end of August.
the place I have in mind is an hour north of Everett.
Would anyone be interested.
I understand why most people wouldn't want to meet up with a bunch of /k/ guys, or people from the internet in general, but I think it would/could be fun.
Thinking of doing a Friday or Saturday single overnight.
Nothing too crazy, or as big as NuggetFest. Just some tents, a huge abandoned building, and some comrades.
Probably no shooting, because people still hike out to it.

In the description it says the buildings are off limits to the public, but I highly doubt because of the area, that if we showed up late enough, and set up camp, that we would even run into anyone.

It's that time of year again, and camping is in full swing right now.
Out of curiosity, how do you usually sleep out there? Tent, Tarp, Camper, etc...? Do you usually use a sleeping bag? What guns do you usually bring?
Also feel free to share any camping tips for comfort or practicality. I usually just sleep in the back of my pickup, but I'm thinking of getting pic related.

South Florida here, I can only go camping during nov-feb. I sleep in a tent. Regular ccw j frame plus 12 ga pump filled with buck in case of gators/skunk apes.

I camp in a place where it is in the 30s at night until late june, so I usually just use 1 side of a pup ten as a lean-to and make a fire nice and close. Then I bring a tarp to sleep on with a single wool blanket.
For guns, I like to bring my AK, but only if it is a 1 night trip, otherwise it is way too bulky. Most of the time, I just bring my P64.

Looking to get a RIA FS HC 40SW for limited in USPSA/3-Gun. Anyone have one or experiences? I love tinkering with guns, and I could do the work on the internals if required to get a better trigger.
I'm skeptical on the value of a STI/SVI, but I'm also considering doing a CK arms build from parts, and I have the Kuhnhausen books and what I'd consider a fairly good machinining/metal working background.
Or just buy $700 worth of 9mm and shoot my G34 in production?
