Why aren't rope access operators a thing anymore?

I got a 100 gift card to dicks sporting goods.
What should I get? Been kinda thinking of getting a predator call maybe.
>>32453887
Just buy beef jerky,
Then you can finally come out and say you eat bags of dicks
Only thing I would ever buy there is ammo and even that is usually way overpriced
Wait till they have a sale and you may get it for 1/2 off twice the price.
>>32453887
How bout you just go there and walk around till you see something you could find useful or fun instead of asking us retards?
So i've been gifted with a CWP for christmas, i take my class in 2 weeks, pretty excited.
But currently my only handgun is my little p64, which imho is a perfect carry for someone like me with a smaller frame, its basically a "better" version of that smith .380 body gaurd. (sa/da instead of da only, and muh rolling pin block)
But i've never carried a gun before, are there any safe and reliable p64 holsters? preferably inside the waist band.
Will probably buy myself a steyr C-A1 for my birthday.

>dat 20lb double action
I picked one up from Midway USA a few weeks ago. It feels pretty good and fits well in my waistband.
I'd post the info but I'm pooping

>any guns that dont pass extreme torture tests on youtube are shit
Still mad your VP9 was exposed as the trash it is?
Are you trying to suggest that that is untrue? They might still have value historically or as a proof of concept to be improved on, but unreliable guns are for practical purposes worthless

OY VEY SHUT IT DOWN!
When: January 13th - 15th
Where: Taladega National Forest
Why: To shoot, drink, and post dank memes.
So a few updates since last week.
The chosen shooting range will be the Henry Creek shooting range, which can be found here http://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/alabama/recreation/otheractivities/recarea/?recid=30177&actid=106 or by going to these coordinates 33.699235, -85.576406
The chosen camping ground will most likely be here 33.698666, -85.586706. I say "most likely" because I cannot plan 100% on a spot I have not been to in person, however this looks like the best bet for number of people expected to be attending and its proximity to the range. If something should come up and we be unable to use this site, I have several backup sites.
The Jewgle Doc I promised is up and can be found here https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1NmkANaZHoF2-kAu2lmbkoZkzAF2Q9rZ_HnNkJ78xQm0/edit#gid=0
A few notes on that. What I'm trying to do with this is make it so everyone can easily see what other people need and can help each other out if they're so inclined. It also allows me to get a more accurate count of people who are actually serious about going and what I need to try and provide. If you want to be in the groupme when I make it, which I would highly recommend if you plan on carpooling, then just shoot me an email with your phone number.
A few things I forgot to mention in the last thread (but its on the google doc) is things to make sure you have.
- Water
- Toilet paper
- Food and beer
- Ammo
- Sleeping and camping gear
- Rain gear (you never know with Alabama)
This is really just a general list to help people not forget anything, but water would definitely be the biggest since we will be at a primitive camp site with no toilet access and no running water. That shouldn't be a problem if you're not a limp wristed fagit.
Any questions please post in the thread or email me, that's why I'm here.
Rules
These are all pretty self explanatory since everyone will be grown ass adults.
- Safety (I cannot fucking stress this enough)
The last thing I need is having to take an anon to the hospital because he/she was acting retarded.
- Nothing illegal
I'm more referring to sketchy unregistered stuff here. If you're bringing it please bring paperwork to show an LEO if they decide to roll up. Nobody is going to be policing everyone to make sure its all "muh ATF compliant" but its in the interest of future meets.
- If you're bringing alcohol just don't be handling firearms afterwards, also no driving etc.
- Be courteous to each other
Get a bunch of socially awkward tards in a group and hand them guns, whats the worst that could happen? But in all seriousness if you're being a dick or causing trouble you will be asked to leave. I know its possible everyone can get along AND have a good time.
- Worst news yet, no tannerite or tracers. National forest regulation
Here's the links for the different ranges for everyone to browse.
http://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/alabama/recreation/otheractivities/recarea/?recid=30151&actid=106

http://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/alabama/recreation/otheractivities/recarea/?recid=30133&actid=106
Unfortunately I have not had the pleasure of trying out any of these 3 ranges so really its based on where there is a large enough campsite. I will try to scout it out before, but if any streloks have some good info please, let a nigga know.
Please note the $3 charge per vehical for range access and be prepared with that in cash.
I don't wuite know what campsite to choose yet because I do not have a solid estimate of warm bodies and cars, but be prepared to factor that into the cost as well.

Too far
Another piece of news from the last thread, tripfag Gio was nice enough to start designing a patch for the meet. However an alternative suggestion of the same design on a challenge coin was made as well, currently interest for the pacth is winning out.
Here it is in all it's glory, all credit goes to Gio.
However' if anyone could tweek the colors, maybe try out a different color scheme or a more realistic color scheme I'd like to see that.
As soon as I get a workable design with the right colors then I'll put the order in, although there's no guarantee it will make into my hands by the meet.

Announcing reports is a bannable offence.
Why not build one in the same area of atmosphere as satellites and drop the planes by means of gravity? Same effect as what you have but maybe more expensive. Still it could be better.
Is Atacs a meme?
Is multicam the best camo for most environments?
>>32443402
For concealing yourself in a green woodland or jungle, the camouflage should be orange.
>Is Atacs a meme?
Wouldnt have thought so, look like it would work well enough based on your pic.
>Is multicam the best camo for most environments?
No, its horrid in actual green (as opposed to "green", like iraq or colorado) environments

This.
What is the cheapest way to secure your guns in a way that would take a criminal with basic hand tools (crowbar, hammer, bolt cutters) more than 5 minutes to break into? I understand that safes aren't completely impermeable, but work as a deterrent or work by buying time. I plan on putting my safe in a closet where someone would have very little room to use these tools. I've mainly been looking at the lowest price safes at Dick's Sporting Goods (Field and Stream, Stack-On) and some gun cabinets, but I question how secure a cabinet is from someone with a crowbar. Anybody have any advice?
>>32477561
The thin metal gun cabinets aren't that hard lost the keys to one of my old ones and popped it opens in less then 20 seconds with a small pry bar
Theres no safe you can buy that'll be safe against a determined thief
The only way to properly secure your guns is to HIDE THEM in a place they won't be found
I should add that I also have a decent home security system, so the thief would have a time limit. I know you pretty much can't "stop" a thief, but if I can get a safe that takes a sufficient amount of time to break into, then it should be good enough.
Is it possible to make a firearm that uses no form of energy or propellant to fire the projectile? It would make logistics much easier if all you needed was the bullet itself and you didn't need a primer or powder or anything to fire.
What is an air-rifle?
Is it possible to never go to school and still function as an adult?
>>32475955
Those use compressed air and need energy to launch the projectile from the compressed air
Don't have an ENCLOSED self-propelled mortar system?

I don't know Nevada because I don't live there but I can tell you that if they went to reintroduce the bill with new provisions that allow the state to do it, it could get shot down simply because "oh not this shit again"
>>32470276
Yes, but they'd have to redo the whole process and put it up for a vote and the next time that'll be will be midterms, which Democrats/the people who vote for this shit never show up to.
Hi, I am new here. I am a college attending female and I am training to join the US special forces. I can speak 3 languages, run a 7 minute mile, can consistently hit the center of a man sized target at 200 yards, regularly weight lifting, and practicing with firearms weekly.
What other physical exercises can I do to prepare myself for special forces selection? Thanks in advance!

if you're being serious, just having a vagina gets you into the military fairly easily. you'll be able to pick basically anything you want. The only problem is that some units are male only,
