Active Protection Systems like the Trophy, Quick Kill and Arena utilize a hard kill tactic to engage anti tank warheads and ensure tank survivability. They have been updated to counter tandem charges as well. How can a shaped charge be designed to counter an active protection system?
>>32447033
Put a faster missile behind it.
A two-part explosion would do it. An initial charge of aluminum fibers to blind the radar and secondary thats the actual charge.
One counter can be sniping the radar sensors on the tank before engaging it with HEAA warheads. Without the radars, the APS will not be able to act.
Post weapons that aren't just standard stuff, no 1911s, ARs, AKs, R700s, etc.

$1236 was a pretty good deal for a AutoMag V.

Is this worth buying? On mobile and can't really inspect that well. It's at a decent price but that kinda looks like rust, and idk if thats problematic or not. I don't wanna pay retail, but I don't wanna buy a lemon.
Thanks /k/
>>32446900
Looks like the factory grease. If it's never been shot a whole bunch or cleaned ever that's completely normal.
>>32446900
Up to you if you want pic related to happen.
>>32446900
That is the copper factory grease Glock puts in their pistols.
It means the gun probably hasn't been shot very much.
A few years ago I found this article: http://www.alloutdoor.com/2014/04/08/ruger-1022-sporter-stealth-re-do/
A novel concept right? Building a rifle that looks unassuming and seems fairly stock but at its heart is a mean precision machine. I don't shoot .22 for anything other than plinking though, so a high-quality stealth build not got any serious consideration as a build. But just recently after seeing all this Christmas gun Gucci on /k/ and loads of fancy new range toys it hit me. Why not do that with an AR15?
The idea is to build a 20" AR as vanilla as pic related as possible. We're trying to build a rifle that looks so stock that your eyes just seem to yawn and look away in boredom, but performs on par with some of the nicest precision AR builds money can buy.
Help me build this innocuous beast fellow /k/ommandos! So far I've got:
lower receiver: should be Del-Ton or PSA some other brand known for making 20" AR15s that are cheap, maybe an Anderson lower but that might give away that it's a *custom* build and we're going for stock
furniture: all milsurp black plastic, the handguard will have to be over a service rifle float tube to secretly free float the barrel while appearing normal
barrel: maybe a custom Shilen or Krieger barrel with a matching bolt head with the finish roughed up to look like a "meh"-level parkerizing or black oxide
BCG: milspec parkerized with the bolt replace with the barrel-supplied one
Sights: either iron sights or some optic setup that looks goofy at first glance
What would you do? I'm looking for input. I've just had this concept simmering in my mind for the past couple days and I want this to be my next build
>>32446836
Colt H-bar match or RRA NM A2. Just saved you a lot of time. You're welcome.
>>32446836
The RRA and armalite match models has a nice barrel sleeve that gives the look of a normal handguard on the outside while keeping the barrel free floated, pretty neat.
>>32446867
I really had my heart set on building a custom upper but those NMs look pretty good. It wouldn't take much to sandpaper and paint that shiny stainless into a nice parkerized looking barrel.
Now are RRA's heavy match barrel's?
hello and merry Christmas /k/
my uncle gave me his old Lyman American Turret press a while ago and now i have some capital to begin reloading.
eventually i will be loading 8mm Mauser, and 6.5 Jap, but im starting with 7mm Mauser.
my questions are concerning brand and type of dies to get.
what brand is the best for dies/best for the money?
and should i get a neck sizing die to preserve my brass? how long will a neck sizing die preserve my brass over a full length resizing die?
pic related is the press, not mine but the same model
shameless self bump
second shameless self bump. pls halp /k/
Lee dies are perfectly fine for the money.
I've only ever loaded straight wall cases, but my roommate loads necked cartridges. Pretty sure he always does a full case resize, and I've never heard him mention any case failures. Chances are you will lose your brass before you break it.
What is /k/'s opinion on the Gewehr 98 and descendants/copies of it like the Wz.29, Kar98az etc.? I've got a Gewehr 98 with the postwar sight and absolutely love it, though 8mm is a real pain in the ass to get. Pic related, it's a rifle of the same type as mine.
>>32446650
They are better than meme-nagant but they use rarer ammo.
Long Mauser is best Mauser. Plus I love the Model 98 because of how widely it was adopted as a service rifle.
True dat. I'm lucky to have a postwar Belgian-made Mauser chambered in 30-06 too, so that's better if I just want to go plinking. Though if you're not extremely picky, you can get 8mm for pretty cheap.
I figured you fags would like this

Best 9mm for $600 or less
I'm really interested in the H&K VP9. I Like how it feels and the fact that you can customize the grips. Held the Walther PPQ today and it felt pretty good but don't know much about it. So should i just go with the H&K or is there something that's better for the same or less price?
Don't really want a glock or a beretta, just don't like how they feel.
>>32446345
Is that a paddle mag release? I had a Walther P22 for a while and loved that feature despite the rest of the gun being a steaming pile of shit.
>>32446345
PPQ for days, mate. It's been shown more resistant to environmental factors than the VP9 in MAC's elemental/gauntlet test.
I have had some hands on time with the PPQ as well and I may be biased because my CC is G19 but the trigger was great. Lighter and more crisp than M&P, Kahr, and XD-M.
>>32446345
>eliminates 2 most popular 9mm companies
You're only other choice would be a S&W Shield
People really like them.
I'd go with the VP9 though.
how was your christmas, /k/?

What does /k/ think of the CZ 527 in 7.62x39?
I've been thinking of getting one and then buying a small scope for it.
Does anyone own one? How is it?
What is the point of having a bolt action rifle in a caliber that is going to be poorly manufactured, underpowered, and inconsistent across the board? 7.62x39 ammo is shit.
I have one in .223 and it's pretty great. It's really nice to shoot and pretty accurate. Can't speak for the 7.62x39 version though.
>>32446037
expensive for what it is. but for us europeons it's one of the few options available. HOWA guns are better bang for buck and 223 is an overall better round for most applications of a bolt gun.
Hey /k/ lurked here for awhile, And while I have a big interest in guns, and have fired many in my day. I turned 22 a few days ago and decided it's about time I purchased a gun for myself. I know that I want a concealed carry. So my question is, whats a good handgun for a first concealed carry.
>>32445880
Post yfw you realize the grip of that gun looks like a crude representation of a penis.
And Makarov is the gun you should buy. Penisgrips is best grips.

Have we reached the pinnacle of small arms?
I, personally cant think of anything better than an assault/battle rifle that is actually practical.
Lasers are shit over long range and batteries are fuckin heavy, so those are out.
25mm shells are too heavy(and expensive) to have every man be able to have a gun that shoots those.
That else is there that is in the works that is better than what we have currently?
>>32445849
Lasers really aren't shit over long ranges and have routinely shown to have more energy at target still than any projectile weapon but these are laser systems the size of cars and can only be mountes on vehicles and planes.
I don't know why you're so eager to replace chemical weapons but speaking in most realistic terms coil or rail assisted chemical projectile weapons are the next step. Imagine if your m4 quad rail had 4 rails right underneath it and the stock had batteries or capacitors. As long as someone could make it not 20lb's then all of a sudden you have an m4 that shoots just like a regular m4 but has muzzle velocities in excess of 1km/s.
>>32445849
Rail guns mounted to vehicles/ships/air frames.
Outside that maybe caseless .
>>32445849
>Lasers are shit over long range

I had the understanding they were a decent entry level 1911 for the money.
Choose two rounds and argue over which ones better.
Ill start, the trusty .270 Winchester vs the new 6.5 Creedmoor. Which is better and why?
>>32445594
You're gay and 7.5 swiss is best girl
>>32445594
Better selection of 6.5mm bullets on the market.
Beyond that they're pretty much the same.
>>32445594
You faggots and your snow-flake cartridges are a joke. 9mm, 45acp, 357mag, 22lr, 556 and 308 are the only acceptable cartridges to buy guns on unless you're going to buy a Mak (good for you stalker) then 9x18 is acceptable despite being a dumb fucking round.
