>retarded Bloomberg Group writes a law, spends millions getting it passed, putting the burden on the FBI to conduct the checks
>but Nevada law requires the Nevada State Police to conduct the checks
>FBI says it will not go against Nevada Law and will not conduct checks under the Initiative Law
>the Initiative Law did not grant the Nevada State Police the authority to conduct the checks, only the FBI who refuses to do them
>law is rendered impossible to comply with

Lel.
>>
Hilarity ensues. They'll just go back and add the state police in though. Any chance it won't pass again after a redraft?
>>
They played themselves.

Congratulations.

>>32470276
I don't know Nevada because I don't live there but I can tell you that if they went to reintroduce the bill with new provisions that allow the state to do it, it could get shot down simply because "oh not this shit again"
>>
>>32470276
Yes, but they'd have to redo the whole process and put it up for a vote and the next time that'll be will be midterms, which Democrats/the people who vote for this shit never show up to.
>>
America. Where we trade dictatorship for ridiculous bureaucracy.

When it gets to the point you don't know what's worse, you start going mad like me
>>
>>32470253
Why can't shit like this ever happen in CA?
>>
Harry REEEEEEEEEEid will be mad
>>
Guess that means no more private sales in Nevada :^)
>Thinking they won't try and enforce it anyways
>>
>>32470416
Because literally every fucking politician is a democrat

I think this year the CA ballot had four potential republicans, excluding the president.

And the entire legislature is 3/4 democrat too. They have well over the supermajority.
>>
>>32470308
>Bureaucracy
If you think that's bad there you should see under EU's reign, you can't fart without Brussels permission.
>>
>>32470253
How do you fuck up that bad? Not that I'm complaining.
>>
>>32470455
There was a letter from the AG of Nevada saying "citizens may not be prosecuted for their inability to comply with the Act unless and until the FBI changes its public position and agrees to conduct background checks consistent with the Act"
let me see if I can find the source again
>>
>>32470481
this is why ballot laws are a terrible idea and shouldn't be allowed

they're always written poorly by dumbshit advocacy groups that don't know the first thing about how laws work

look at what's happened to california thanks to their ballot law system
>>
>>32470613
Same shit has happened to washington too
>>
>>32470253
So are Dems going to be able to fix this? I have no idea what the makeup of the state legislature is.
>>
>>32470416
It has, usually in court. It's just that shit gets reversed by even higher courts.
SCOTUS is the only hope for CA.
>>
>>32470613
>>32470633
Interesting, Oregon has the ballot system but no gun control laws have ever been passed through it.
>>
>>32470669
Even then cities just ignore state courts like San Francisco is doing. Absolutly no repercussions for thier faggotry.
>>
>>32470677
I think that's because it is usually very inconvenient to do a ballot measure unless something occurs and is very polarizing right before an election.

It's usually easier to make some calls to someone who is sympathetic to your cause because legislation can be introduced at any time in the legislature.

And unlike California, the state is not a super majority for voter populous. And unlike Washington your entire state isn't entirely controlled by a single small geographic area that doesn't represent everyone else in the state.

The overall point is that Oregon unlike California or Washington isn't entirely controlled by liberals, at least not yet.
>>
>>32470253
of course it's some whore with red hair holding the sign.
>>
>>32470737
>>32470669
Thats why we need the NRA controlled federal government and Trump's support to make sure California and the other occupied states are not forgotten. Either by passing progun federal laws and amendments or having Trump and his cabinet getting more assertive with guys like Jeff Sessions to force the Fed LEOs like the FBI or the ATF ironically to fight CADOJ's enforcement of gun control.

I understand that so far the progun states have done amazingly well and do deserve the prime attention (as several swing states that went for Trump are all big gun states too). But once we win and get the wider battle won, the national progun entities will then turn their eyes on the antigun strongholds because they will be the last frontier for gun rights.
>>
>>32470796
NRA is dead to me because they turn tail and run the minute shit looks tough, Massachusetts was decent teir and then it got fucked up the ass. NRA no where to be seen and we've had to hold our own with local groups.

They are the biggest swinging dick in the room but no fucking balls.
>>
>>32470822
Califag here and I know exactly how you feel.

But I have to disagree simply because the NRA is a NATIONAL organization and they know better then to get dragged into a losing battle then focusing on winning the wider war.

Thr federal government and a progunner in office is a fucking superweapon for gun rights and us oppressed-state gun owners who have been put on defense for so many years by that very same entity can now use it against these little state tyrants.

But we HAVE to push within our own organizations and along our internal ties to the wider gun movement to get them to help us on a broader scale beyond just fighting never ending court cases, and start PASSING the laws we need to win them. Tens of states have bullshit laws in place including a big chunk of the US population, so it would be hard pressed for the NRA and others to ignore us for long.
>>
>>32470765
That's true, the state is know for being very politically polarized with a near even split of Democratic and Republican voters.
>>
>>32470822
The NRA was fighting for the next 50 years on the Supreme Court and the Presidency. I'm sorry your state is completely lawless and allows its AG to reinterpret laws however the fuck she wants but they had bigger fish to fry this year and have a tiny as fuck budget to accomplish it with
>>
>>32470961
Also, an NRA controlled government will overturn bullshit in California and New York in the long run if there's a conservative majority on the Supreme Court.
>>
>>32470796
you must be 18 to post here anon

>>Under Nevada law, the language of ballot initiatives approved by the electorate cannot be changed by the Legislature for three years.
>do it wrong
>can't fix it either
Got some real geniuses down there
>>
>>32471100
oh they did it right in that they expected state police to not follow through so they wanted to use federal. the problem is that they don't have Clinton as president and therefore FBI in their pocket.
>>
>>32470961
>>32470973
Agreed. /k/unts rip on the NRA all day long without realizing that they were the only reason the rest of the US doesn't look like California and California like the UK. They lobby, unify and keep everyone informed. Sometimes when needed they put up the big money for court cases. They're only part of alliance, a big part, and they perform that duty well. The Second Amendment Foundation leans towards fighting court cases. The National Shooting Sports Foundation helps protect shooting programs, access to ranges and hunting areas, and steps in to defend manufacturers when necessary leaving the NRA and the SAF to do what they do best. The NRA also takes all the heat from the media and activists, leaving other organizations to fight court cases, recover gun rights, and educate the public without having to deal with bags of hate mail, harassing phone calls, and badgering media. The NRA is one big buffer for all that.

Everyone who bitches about the NRA not magically granting their one pet legislative wish for them is just a fucking crybaby. "Hurr I'll never support the NRA after they didn't fight this one minor thing while trying to fight 50,000,000 other things!" -- that's EXACTLY what the anti-gunners WANT. Defund their biggest, most effective opponent. "Wah, b-but this one time...." ---SHUT THE FUCK UP THE ONLY REASON YOU HAVE AN AR OR AN AK AND DON'T HAVE TO ENTER IT IN A NATIONAL GUN REGISTRY IS BECAUSE OF THE NRA.

>inb4 undercover Bloombergers parrot more anti-NRA garbage in their attempt to spread discontent
>>
>>32471223
I was going to sign up once. I saw an offer to get me a cool NRA hat. But for some reason I could never actually find the offer. I don't understand why there's like 5 different websites you can register from. Shit's awkward and sketchy as fuck.
>>
>>32470474

I am honesty afraid of how true or false the rumors are for Europe.

Deebly goncerned
>>
>>32471223
Holy shit, the NRA is like an mmorpg tank. They do things to deliberately annoy the antis and draw 'aggro' while the smaller groups nuke the fuck out of them.

Fucking awesome.
>>
>>32471321
We memed a candidate to the White House
We have a MMORPG party fighting the Feinstein Raid Boss
Then what? The world becomes exactly like anime (both on "out-of-the-ordinary" stuff and look)?
>>
>>32471253
The EU is pretty similar to the US but more left wing and authoritarian. The actual processes of governance are similar.
>>
>>32470253
Fuck Bloomberg, maybe 2016 can still take him as its final act.

Mainefag here, Bloomberg tried this exact same shit this election. Spent millions on ads, the only regulated opposition that formed in our state was under the 3 million dollars donated by the NRA to run counter ad campaigns.

They're not perfect but they really saved our skin this time around.
>>
>>32470669
mustard gassing the 9th circuit court of appeals would also be a good place to start
>>
>>32472507
An earthquake completely destroying southern California would be a good follow-up
>>
>>32471223
your assertion falls on deaf ears because of all the fat neckbeard "kommano" faggots here that think nra == fudd and everything fudd == bad
>>
>>32470253
I'm so happy, I knew my state would pull through
>>
>>32471091
Hilarious
>>
>>32472470
nah, the EU is an anti-democratic shitshow. parliament has no right to introduce laws, only vote yes/no on them. they have no right to amend them or make suggestions on what to change. laws are made by closed councils that have "experts" sitting on them (think "shoulder-thing that goes up" level of knowledge), and barely any way for lobbies to assert influence (would be a good thing if the EU wasn't a socialist, pro-one governemnt/NWO institution) on.
>>
>>32470677
No but it's not like representatives voting in gun control without voter input is any better. Hence why Oregon has universal background checks now.
>>
>>32471223
>The NRA is one big buffer for all that.
This. I don't mind paying the NRA 30 shekels a year to help offset billionaire grabbers like Bloomberg.
>>
They tried the same shit here in Maine, and it failed, albeit by like 48%.

Pretty disgusting that people actively try to oppress gun owners non-stop.
>>
>>32470796
>NRA controlled federal government
How about noone controls the federal government but the people? It's a naive idea I know, but it's still what I'd prefer

>inb4 tyranny of the majority
I hear that every way to often these days when suggesting we go the more democratic route instead of relying on technicalities or other bullshit to get our way. But the Constitution was set up to protect against that, which is why the technicalities and such shouldn't be supported, the Constitution should be.

>oppress

The only people who would be "oppressed" by this are criminals and the mentally defective.
>>
>>32472581
mostly correct, but the EU is not a socialist union. Think of it more like an extreme neo liberal union.

They're extremely pro-market, way more than socialists. But they're also authoritarian, which is why many americans think of them as socialists, but none of their authoritarianism comes from socialist ideas.
>>

NY tried background checks on ammo, FBI said "lol no".

>>32470474
Brussels may not last very long, it's barely a functioning nation now, and I expect an EU/SEU split in the near future as well.
NATO itself is in doubt.
