New gun thread!
I just got a new-to-me Sig P226 .40 today. I believe it's early 2000's due to the neutered 10 round Clinton mags I got with it, but the previous owner carried it for a while but never really shot it a lot. It's a clean, solid gun, and I can't wait till my Saturday indoor range trip to try her out.
I'm surprised my phone could get the bore this well.

My only question is whether or not I should get a .357 Sig barrel for it. That's all you need for conversion. I can shoot .40 and carry .357
give me some /k/ tier youtubers please fellas?
i've exhausted all the good films and tv shows.

Sup guys. AR build time.

Nothing else matters
Do SA/DA revolvers go into SA mode after the first shot is fired like a SA/DA auto gun, or are they DA through the whole cylinder unless you manually cock the hammer back?
On a semi auto it is the slide cycling that cocks the hammer for SA.
Revolvers have no slide so they are DA unless manually cocked

The second one op

Is there a true DA/SA revolver that after every trigger pull but the first, the hammer is cocked back?
Is there such thing as a company that makes rifles chambered in contemporary/readily available cartridges (556, 308, x39 etc) that takes aesthetic queues from old military surplus? If not, how come?
Because up until about 20 years ago surplus was cheap as fuck, it's fairly inexpensive now. There's no money in it, but that might change in the future. Ammo and rifles have both passed the high water mark.
There have been small attempts, like AIA in Australian/S.E. Asia trying to make a copy of the No4. It was poor quality but would have to sell for at least as much as the surplus rifles to make money. They went bust I think.

Because no one wants it. No, you don't either, or you won't when you see the price tag required.

If you were to make an SKS today to the same standards as they were produced at originally, it'd be well over $1500. Nobody would pay $1500 for an SKS, much less any other milsurp.
A local gun store is offering them for $500 and I have MP40 autism. Should I buy it or wait for something else?

Glock 43, why the fuck would you buy a single stack 9mm Glock when the double stacked 26 is only a 1/4inch wider?
What does a "Good" vs "Bad" trigger mean? Are good triggers just lighter? I only own striker fired pistols and I can't tell the difference.
Some people say "Shield trigger is shit get an apex for it" What would the apex trigger feel like vs the stock one. Same with the SD9VE everyone says the trigger is shit, i've never fired one though.
I assume it's different for SA/DA and striker fired handguns?
>>32460678
A good trigger has minimal slack in the takeup, a crisp break, and a short reset. Light is good but only to a certain extent
>>32460678
Usually a "good" trigger has features like minimal take-up (slack, basically), a clean and well-defined break, and low pull weight, among other things. This is all pretty subjective, but the gist of it is you want a trigger that's easy to pull, and well-defined as opposed to "mushy".
It's kind of subjective, but a "good" trigger should be consistent and crisp, the Glocks and m&ps I've found to feel like the triggers are hooked to sponges not metal. I've also noticed the breaking point, the point which the firing pin is released, varies, not a lot but enough that I noticed it. Match grade triggers are light and break like glass, combat triggers are heavier but should still have a clean break, hunting rifles should have very little to no travel, so what makes a good trigger depends on the application and some personal preference
So I've started watching Generation Kill for the third time and I'm curious as to how accurate the portrayal of Encino man and Captain America are. Because the more I watch it the more I wonder how people that incompetent could get their positions, moreover I read something somewhere where Encino man said his portrayal wasn't that accurate and some stuff happened different than it did in real life.
>>32460647
Read the book.
>yfw the show TONED DOWN THE INSANITY.
>>32460647
Of course Encino man said that.
Take the new captain we just got for example:
Pros:
>good fitness
>intelligent in his own way
>good at tasking things out
Cons:
>his intelligence comes with a heaping dose of autism
>he's condescendingly over-confident in himself
>he thinks everyone else is in the weeds when really he is in the weeds
>has delusions about his role in our unit, the mission, and the Army
>has a comically ridiculous hairstyle
I have very little doubt that in his young and vibrant pursuit of some imagined glory, he would definitely call danger close fire support simply because there are a lot of people who, while intelligent and well-spoken, have a range of intelligence that orients them more towards the planning than the doing. When the planners try to do... this is when shit goes awry.
Sorry, if you're reading this, sir.

I'm just curious as to how a Major doesn't know what danger close is or what it means
I've been thinking about getting pic related for awhile for my first novelty/deep carry guns. Does anyone have experience with them ?

What do you guys think of this? Nutnfancy seems to be jizzing his pants over it but it seems he is sort of a kel-tec shill. (not implying his opinion is accurate or not) but I am curios what is the opinion here.

It's pretty good. I still prefer my FS2000 though.

What is the MSRP of the RDB vs the FS200? Genuinely curious and too drunk and lazy to look up if anyone knows it from the top of their head
>>32460531
How does it feel in hand? Compared to say an AUG or Tavor?
Found a 8mm mauser for sale at a LGS what is a fair price for them.
It seems clean and in good shape.
Numbers match.
They want $350.
Got some money for Christmas, wondering if i should get this or keep looking.

So does the ATF have a certain degree where a foregrip is classified as vertical or angled? I understand putting a vertical foregrip on a pistol creates an AOW but angled foregrips are good to go. I'm just looking to know where they draw the line. Would pic related be vertical or count as angled since it's obviously angled a little bit. I've googled and haven't come up with anything.

Itll be something stupid, like whether or not you can wrap your hand around it or whether a certain volume of air can pass between it and the firearm withing a certain time scale when lobbed over 7 arshins via a 6-ton counterweight trebuchet.
I'm surprised I can't find any tangible information on the subject. No mandates explaining anything. You'd think someone would want to push the limit and create the most vertical "angled" foregrip that they legally can.
>>32460168
you should ask them
